It took almost three months but Vinnie Pasquantino is finally in the bigs. He will draw most people’s attention and if you’ve been saving your FAAB budget, I think it’s time to drop the hammer. Kenley Jansen is on the IL with an irregular heartbeat. Atlanta’s bullpen situation is something to look at this week, my initial thoughts are below. Finally, have a safe fourth everyone, and let’s have a strong final 3 months of the season.

Notable Schedules

Every team has at least six games this week, with the Tigers and Reds scheduled to play eight.

10/12 Team Adds

Vinnie Pasquantino (KC/1B) – The Royals cleared the way for Pasquantino by trading Carlos Santana to Seattle. Vinnie was putting up some elite numbers in Triple-A. He hit 18 bombs and stole three bases while slashing .280/.372/.576. Impressively, he’s walked more than he’s struck out at both Double-A and Triple-A. He hit cleanup Friday and Saturday. You’ll likely need to bid 18-20% in 12 team and 24-26% in 15 team leagues to win.

Keegan Thompson (CHC/SP) – Thompson has done a good job of limiting hard contact. As he’s allowed a 7.6% barrel and a sub 35% HH-rate. He also has a playable 23% K-rate and has shown glimpses of better. He’s a stash if you pick him up as I’m not starting him against the Dodgers unless I have to. (3-4% FAAB)

A.J. Minter (ATL/RP) – Will Smith got a save Wednesday after Minter recorded one on Tuesday. My gut reaction says that it’s a full committee. However, Minter pitched in three of the last four days prior to Wednesday. Many tabbed him as the closer of the future after 2018. However, multiple injuries derailed his progress. This a situation you’ll want to keep an eye on through the weekend. (7-8% FAAB)

Tyrone Taylor (MIL/OF) – Not great for OBP leagues but offers plenty of power as well as mixing in a few steals. Milwaukee released Lorenzo Cain and Hunter Renfroe finds himself on the IL. As a result, Taylor should not have any playing time concerns for the foreseeable future. (3-5% FAAB)

15 Team Adds

Mitch White (LAD/SP) – His metrics mirror his 3.93 ERA. White has a playable 22.8% k-rate and you couldn’t ask for a better team context if you play in a league with wins as a category. He’s scheduled to face the Rockies and Cubs this week. (3-4% FAAB)

Yusei Kikuchi (TOR/SP) – Generates plenty of strikeouts (26.3%) and also gets hit pretty hard (16.8% Barrel and 50.9% HH), which leads to some pretty inconsistent outings, so nothing more than a streamer in most formats. He comes in at 14th on our Streamonator this week. Thanks for two good matchups against Oakland and Seattle. (1-2% FAAB)

Leody Taveras (TEX/OF) – Taveras is back in the bigs and playing almost every day. Taveras has proven his stolen base potential but everything else is still a big question mark. He hit seven homers and stole seven bases while slashing .294/.335/.485 in Triple-A. (1-2% FAAB)

Lou Trivino(OAK/RP) – He’s 3 for 3 on save opportunities over the last two weeks. He hasn’t given up a run since June 15th. However, this seems to be mostly smoke and mirrors as he has a 1.59 WHIP over that time. Buyer beware though, if he keeps performing well, he’ll like get traded and be out of the role. Bid with only a few weeks of usage in mind. (1-2% FAAB)
