If you believe in luck, it’s been a bad scene for me lately. In the span of 48 hours, I lost my front tooth, totaled my car, and forgot to tell my starting shortstop to stay the hell away from Ryan Braun‘s backswing. I’m also 1-5 on the year with my over/under picks for those of you who are keeping track. Oh well. There are some who say we make our own luck. That’s all I’m trying to do with these posts really. I take the information available to me via tools such as the Hitter-Tron and Stream-o-Nator and make the best recommendations I can to help you win. But even the best information can’t protect us from Jean Segura walking into a bat or Francisco Liriano getting a nosebleed. Hyun-Jin Ryu ($8,800) is third overall on the Stream-o-Nator today, but that only confirmed my choice to put him in my lineup. The Rockies are a good offense, but they’ve done most of their damage at home (duh). Ryu has been brilliant outside of one bad start. His K/9 on the year sits at 7.4 and he’s kept his BB/9 under 3. That, in combination with his 46% GB%, is the secret formula for solid pitching. I think he’ll handle the Rockies lineup in his home park today and give the Dodgers and DFS players a great chance to win. There are nine other pitchers that will cost you more today, so if you run him out there you can spend a little more on your hitting. Here are my other DraftKings highlights for 4/27/2014…

Danny Salazar, SP: $5,800 – So I’m guessing people have soured on Salazar given he costs under $6K this week, but Stream-O-Nator still likes the youngster for this start against the Giants ($13.5). I’m as frustrated as anybody by the pitching staff’s performance, but Salazar still has electric stuff and there’s a reason he was drafted where he was heading into the season. If I’m going to take a risk on him, it’s today at this price in that park. He can’t hurt me any more than Masterson did, right? Right?

Wil Myers, OF: $3,800 – Myers at under $4K is a good deal for somebody who’s listed in the top twenty on the Hitter-Tron. He’s had hits in each of his last four games, and could have an outburst like last weekend’s at any time. He’s got a favorable match-up against Scott Carroll in Chicago today.

Carlos Gomez, OF: $4,800 – You know what I used to do in school when I knew I had detention later that week? I turned up my swagger and acted like I had nothing to lose. Gomez is already a great player and a fantasy monster. While his swagger dial is probably already maxed out, I think he’ll have a nice day against Jason Hammel.

Paul Goldschmidt, 1B: $4,400 – Phillies and D-Backs stacks might be a good play today as the game is sitting at 9 1/2. Goldschmidt is my pick at first base today thanks because of his price and the home match-up against a nicked-up A.J. Burnett.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

There’s a chance of rain for TB@CWS, PIT@STL, and DET@MIN. Wind could also be a factor for the Twins game. It’s blowing in from left at Target Field.

Doing Lines In Vegas

I’ll take the under for CLE@SF (8 1/2) and the over for CHC@MIL (7 1/2). I need these two. No whammies!
