I’m jumping out of the program this week and making this a mash up creeper post. Juan Uribe and Scott Van Slyke have got my mojo at full attention with their road trips to Colorado and Chicago this week, and I want to combine them into one monster. Now why not just choose one? Good point. I don’t want to choose. With the Dodgers September call-ups, the outfield has got mucky, but one thing I know is Don likes to play Scott when a lefty is on the hill, and the Dodgers face five of them this week. I’m not saying that he will play all five games, but I think he has a good chance to get in the line-up a few of those days and you should have him stashed in daily changes leagues. We cool with that? Good!
Before I move on down to the blah blah statty stuff, I want to throw out something to Ralph. I’m not hip-hopping this Sunday, I’m mashing. With AC/DC in my title, it seems downright wrong to go hip-hop with that in my title. Or is it? A mash up is a mix of two or more songs to create something new. Now, to be fair with my expectations, I am writing about an Australian group, and being that SteveNZ is from the land down under middle earth, he might appreciate that. I know he’ll appreciate this classic mash-up… it feels so wrong and right all at once. Like hooking up with your non-blood cousin at a wedding and not being able to tell anyone… Who you gonna call? In reality, I can appreciate even when it’s way out there. Like this Z-Trip cut combining the Pharcyde and Pat Benatar. Or his Zeppelin vs. Public Enemy take! I’m going to finish this out with a little 50 cent vs. Toto. The band, not the dog.
As I have already stated, the Dodgers are getting a lefty-heavy hitter friendly road trip this week. The 16.1% owned Juan Uribe and the 0.1% owned Scott Van Slyke have a shot to help you with your finishing sprint. Since August 31st, Uribe has put up a line of 5/2/8/.378 and has been hot schmotatoesque for teams needing a replacement for David Wright. On the flip side, you have Van Slyke who has been shown the bench more than necessary. As the Dodgers struggle to hold a lead in the standings and hitting like an anemic sloth leads me to think a shake-up is coming. On the year, Van Slyke has averaged a home run every 3.25 hits against lefties and if given a chance this week should add to that total. Juan Uribe on the other hand has hit .421 at Coors this year and .306 over the prior three years that include a dong and 12 RBI’s. He’s got a small sample size, that’s what she said, against this week’s Chicago starter. Going 7 for 18 against the Cubs starters he’s faced leaves me positive. That sex addicted cuisinart Hitter-Tron has Uribe as a $5.9 play and Van Slyke as a $3.7 play and I tend to agree this week with an expectation of upside all around. Uribe is the for sure grab for 3B deficient teams and if you have the room add Van Slyke to your bench so if he gets the start then get him in your line-up. What’s that? You can’t use get him in your line-up because of copyright infringement? Fine, then how about play his ass? Thanks for humoring me and my mash up tribute but before I go I want to throw out my love for DJ Z-Trip one last time with this Tool vs. Outkast jam.
