Guys. Comma, Comma, Comma. I went over a lot of these rookies already. All right, let’s get what I’ve said previously, “Giants lost Dom Smith, and had an opening at 1st base for Bryce Eldridge, so Frank Voila! Here he is! Kinda wild that Dom Smith would block anyone. Is that the Dom Smith who had one good game in 2019? That Dom Smith? Okay! So, Bryce Eldridge was 12th on the top 50 fantasy baseball prospects that Itch just gave you this Sunday. Eldridge went 25/1/.260 in the minors this year in 384 ABs with a 29.3 K%, and 30.8% in Triple-A. Think he’ll be as good as advertised at some point — 40+ HRs, .260 — think Pete Alonso in San Fran. Call him Effete Alonso. — but right now he’s 20 years old, and strikes out way too much.” And that’s me quoting me! Yes, I kinda wanted to just call him Effete Alonso again. He doesn’t hit the ball into McCovey Cove, he hits it into Frank Ocean. That is a super random reference. If you don’t get it, it’s because you’re my target audience of 40 or older. Why would I purposely miss my target audience? Haha, don’t you wish you knew! You don’t? Oh, okay. Any hoo! So, what can we expect from Bryce Eldridge for 2026 fantasy baseball?
His contact is a concern still. Will Bryce Eldridge be the top rookie drafted in redraft leagues? Yeah, I could see it. The power is unreal. Effete Alonso might not even be doing him justice. He could out-homer Albombso. His power is goofy, here’s visuals:

Legit cackling at 470 feet. Oh, okay. Oh, to repeat myself: He’s 20! Look at how silly this hit is:

I’m going to go out on a sturdy limb — like this dude’s arms — and say he’s out-homering Pete Alonso by 2028. His average exit velocity in Triple-A as a 20-year-old was 95.7 MPH. At 20! Sorry to keep repeating his age, but if a 25-year-old is doing this, it’s whatever. A 20-year-old? It’s ludicrous. He was basically the top average exit velocity guy as a 20-year-old. “As a 20-year-old” repeat seventy-five times. Eldridge is unreal. 90th% EV? 108.6 MPH! Max EV? 114.6! Barrel%? 16.3! Hard Hit%? 64.5! If these numbers mean nothing to you, take my word for it. They’re nuts. Kyle Schwarber led the majors in Hard Hit%, it was 59.6! Ohtani was 58.4%. Look again at Bryce Eldridge’s — 64.5%!
So, how is he not the easy consensus number one rookie off the board in redraft leagues? Well, maybe he is, but he had a 30.8 K% in Triple-A. He can’t make contact. He might not be Pete Alonso. He might actually be Joey Gallo if he can’t figure his shizz out. Hows’ever, he’s 20! Have you heard he’s 20? He’s 20! He can fix his contact issues after a long year in the majors where he hits .220. The thing is guys like this fix themselves real fast and he only needs a 28 K% or better to be a superstar. That he’s a lefty won’t help his at-bats this year either. I’d be shocked if they let him face most lefties. For 2026 fantasy baseball, I’ll give Bryce Eldridge projections of 52/24/63/.218/1 in 461 ABs with a chance for much more, if he can figure out his contact issues.
