I just rejoined on a premium subscription. I needed a pitcher and saw Senga at $44. Of course he has been terrible but I said what do I know and picked him up and he was worse than terrible. I have Moniak who is sitting at #20 in my league. Hittertron had him at -17.9, about 350th, though he was to play two right handers. I read the methodology and it seems great reliance is placed on rest of season estimates which probably rely heavily on past seasons and on everything reverting to the expected norm over time. Which in my limited use of the tool makes me think it does not consider breakout seasons and is not very useful this early in the season. (Although it is handy in finding if opposing pitcher is LHP or RHP). How am I wrong?

A couple of points here.
On doubleheader days, both games are projected separately in Hittertron. Separately, neither game was projected to be valuable for Moniak given he was playing outside Coors. His projection does factor in his season-to-date but park neutralizes it and weights it accordingly. But given he started both games, that’s a no-brainer to start him.
Senga’s projected rates do factor in his start this year. The Rockies really are an awful park-neutral hitting team. A home start vs them is just what a doctor would’ve ordered for Senga. It didn’t work out. Worth the chance IMO. ‘Worse than terrible’ is not 3 ER and 6 baserunners in 2 2/3 IP. It is pathetic/inept for a home start vs the Rockies but that’s not even making/breaking a weekly H2H let alone a full-season Roto league.
