As we approach Memorial Day and the week eight recap of the Razzball Commenter Leagues, our league standings have stabilized a bit. Those teams that got out to 30-point leads at the end of April have drifted back to the pack (hopefully), and even those teams that were sitting in last place (I had more than a few of those) have chipped away at the deficit (though not as much as I’d like). This is the time to take a look at those standings and see where you’re lacking and make a move. Historically, these next two weeks are the busiest trading weeks of the year. Something about a long weekend and two months of stats, realizing we’re a quarter of the way through the season, gets the trade juices flowing. The week before the deadline is the other busy trade week. So, cozy up to the grill or firepit, grab a beverage of choice, and scan those standings while firing off trades this weekend. Best of luck in your quest for glory.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Derek, The Lineup Builder reclaimed first place this week. He held the spot back in week two and has hovered around the podium since. A two point gain, coupled with The Itch losing four points secured the switch. Cram It was the biggest mover this week though, picking up 11 points and moving up three spots to sixth. I’m still hoping to make a similar move someday, but this week, I was the biggest loser instead, dropping 4.5 points. At least I didn’t have Grey’s 8.19 ERA on the week. Ouch. Dollander, Braxton, Ashcraft, Dominguez, Gilbert, Lambert…I think Grey rostered every pitcher implosion this week. Rough.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

James Sweeney remains atop the RazzSlam standings for another week. Topher is in freefall, slipping from first two weeks ago to a tie for ninth this week. Roto_Wan slipped to fourth while Andy and Mike hold onto fifth and seventh, respectively. Yancy Eaton rejoins the top ten this week, tied for ninth.
Matt Cardinal was the biggest points gainer this week, picking up 713 points and moving into 15th overall. Leonard Tang moved the most spots in the standings, jumping up 61 places to 115th thanks to a 640 point week.
My squad is piling up injuries, Correa, Wilson, Caballero, and O’Hearn recently. Injuries really do a number in this league. When you have fewer options to fill spots, it hits hard. Stay healthy out there.

Just four deals this week, with nothing too eye-popping. I think I need to start looking to move Michael King in a few leagues. Maybe this is a calm before the trade storm? These deals bring the season totals to 38 trades involving 98 players (83 unique players). RCL 9 & RCL 30 each have had five trades.

Tximista set a new high in weekly strikeouts, breaking the century mark. Otherwise, we got lots of action from DFSers and murderbydeath, who posted two different teams to the leaderboard.
In other weekly news from VinWins:
29 teams had an ERA under 2, while 25 teams were over 6.
24 teams hit under .200, and 8 hit over .300.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Eggplant
League: RCL 16
Stats: AVG: .274, R: 52, HR: 11, RBI: 49, SB: 12
IP: 61, ERA: 2.51, WHIP: 1.016, K: 63, W: 6, SV: 4
Summary: I love when TOW teams have HR/SB symmetry. I think it’s the slam and legs bias. Once again, the week’s best is led by Shohei Ohtani, who hit .364 with 1 home run, 1 stolen base, and 8 runs batted in, and added 8 strikeouts in 7 scoreless innings for a win. What a stud. Drake Baldwin continued his amazing season with 3 homers and 6 ribbies. Ildemaro Vargas drove in 7, and Xavier Edwards scored 6 runs and stole 2 bases. Jackson Chourio, Otto Lopez, A.J. Ewing, and Justin Crawford added 2 thefts each as well. Freddy Peralta (11 strikeouts) and Kevin Gausman (10 Ks) each won 1 of their 2 starts. Randy Vasquez, Will Warren, and Kenley Jansen also earned wins. Jansen recorded 6 strikeouts in his 3 innings of work. Bryan Baker and Raisel Iglesias chipped in with a couple of saves apiece. The big week gained Eggplant 7 points this week to move them up from 2nd to 1st in RCL 16. Nice work, many eggplants.
