Cal Raleigh is single-handedly leading teams to the top of Razzball Commenter League standings this week. Big Dumper is going full Barry Bonds on the league, and from the catcher position. Your RCL Update host had him in one league and traded him (along with Tovar and Nootbarr) two weeks ago for Strider, Trout, and Jordan Beck. Strider had been excellent, but I’m still feeling a little sore after Raleigh’s huge week. I traded him under the assumption that this wasn’t going to last, that there’s no way Big Dumper cranks 60 longballs and swipes 20 bags while also going through the rigors of catching full time. I still believe that, but it doesn’t make me feel any better this week. What do you think? Are we selling Raleigh for a big return, riding the wave, buying high? We only had five trades this week in the RCLs, but maybe we’ll have a few more dumping the Dumper after this huge week.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
The Great Knoche has the biggest gains this week, snagging seven points and moving up two spots to fifth. He even did it without Cal Raleigh! Eugenio Suarez (4 HRs / 11 RBIs) was Coors-powered, and Christian Yelich drove in ELEVEN without a single HR. Wild. Despite leading the league in ERA, WHIP, and Runs, I only managed to gain 2.5 points and move into ninth this week as I continue to spin my tires in most leagues this year. Grey went backwards this week, losing the most points in the league (5.5) and dropping two places down to seventh.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Rob couldn’t fend off Taylor Case, who is absolutely Big Dumper powered and now has led the RazzSlam in points in back to back weeks as they have flown up the standings. Raleigh had 100 points all by himself this week, and Case is smokin hot at the perfect time. We only have one more week to get ourselves positioned for the playoffs by being top two in our leagues. Sadly, it looks like I’m headed for the consolation bracket. Womp womp. Jeremy Gibbs was the biggest gainer this week. You may recall Gibbs from the RCL standings of years past, a very talented RCLer, making big moves in the points tournament as he jumped up 48 spots to 62nd overall.
TRADES
All the trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.
DATE | LEAGUE | DETAILS |
---|---|---|
6/17/2025 | RCL 18 |
Two catchers, why not? traded Luis Robert Jr. to Village Vagrants for Taylor Ward
|
6/20/2025 | RCL 18 |
Texas Aardwolves traded Byron Buxton to unathletic cart for Matt Shaw & Cody Bellinger
|
6/21/2025 | DFSers Anonymous |
Raleigh ‘Round the Family traded Mike Trout to VickyB for Aroldis Chapman
|
6/22/2025 | RCL 33 |
Green Monster Mashers traded MIchael Busch & Framber Valdez to Bandidos for Freddie Freeman & Will Vest
|
6/22/2025 | RCL 33 |
Green Monster Mashers traded Xavier Edwards & Jac Caglione to Starfish & Coffee for Ozzie Albies
|
Again, only five deals this week, with two leagues doing most of the work. Probably smart to trade Buxton now before the inevitable injury hits. I should look to do the same where I have him, tbh. Green Monster Mashers remade their team this week with a couple deals. I moved Albies, who has been disappointing so far, and I am desperate for stolen bases in this league. Caglione hopefully starts clicking.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 68 – Losers Club (RCL 6)
HR –26 – Big Boppers (RCL 26)
RBIs – 70 – Bandidos (RCL 33)
SB – 13 – TripleBs (RCL 8) & unathletic cart (RCL 18)
AVG – .330 – Losers Club (RCL 6)
K – 86 – RandallR (RCL 35)
W – 9 – Starfish & Coffee (RCL 33)
SV – 11 – The Sultan (RCL 1)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 1.38 – Savagerrr (RCL 14) (in 52 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.755 – MattTruss (Perts League) (in 50.1 IP)
A new HR record this week! The appropriately named Big Boppers broke a 3-way tie for the weekly record with 26. I know a couple of these teams on the list this week as I had a pretty decent pitching across the board. Lots of Jacob Misioroski helped things out. Sadly, Grey scooped me on him in Perts, or that WHIP could have been even better. I have managed to snag Clarke Schmidt in most leagues, and his 14.2 scoreless IP have been a boon. Hat tip to Sandwich Pick for his article HERE that caused me to turn my attention to Schmidt’s metrics and made him a waiver wire target recently. That article also caused me to move on from ASS before the he stunk it up. Read our articles, folks, we have good writers doing good work for you!
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Ted’s Splendid Splinters
League: The Laura Holt Challenge
Stats: AVG: .315, R: 50, HR: 22, RBI: 69, SB: 10
IP: 56.1, ERA: 3.67, WHIP: 0.941, K: 61, W: 5, SV: 3
Summary: Can you guess which player TSS rosters? Cal Raleigh! Cal rallied a strong offense, hitting .417 with 5 home runs, 12 RBI, and 2 stolen bases! Nick Kurtz lived up to the hype with 4 homers and 8 runs batted in, while Colton Cowser drove in 8 on 3 round trippers. Junior Caminero hit .478, and CJ Abrams added 4 steals. Heliot Ramos and Bryson Stott chipped in 7 ribbies apiece. Seth Lugo was the star on the pitching side, striking out 16 in 12 and a third innings and earning 1 win while allowing just 6 baserunners and 2 runs. Dylan Cease struck out 13 and recorded a victory, but he allowed 7 runs in 11.2 IP. Merrill Kelly and Freddy Peralta also had wins for the Splendid Splinters. As for the relief corps, Tanner Scott (2 saves) and Kirby Yates (1 save) were stellar. Robert Suarez picked up the win on Sunday, but in each of his 2 previous appearances, he allowed a run while recording 1 out. The big week gained TSS 9.5 points and moved them up from 11th to 7th in The Laura Holt Challenge, one of the strongest RCLs. Nice work!
