Week twenty has come and gone, a week that always seems to mark a turning point in the RCLs for me.  We’re out of the teens and into the twenties, with only a handful of weeks remaining.  My eyeballs really turn to those innings pitched limits right about now, as I try to make sure all of my teams are above 1,000 IP so I don’t need to stream anything that walks the final week of the season.  This is also the time of year where I start to loosen up my requirements for holding players a bit.  Fourth outfielders that I would typically keep, may get dumped to waivers in favor of someone with a better match-up or an actual match-up if that fourth outfielder has an off day.  I’m looking at all those Claims Remaining some of my teams have right about now and thinking, “I can’t take those with me”.  The race is on for counting stats and you can bet your Cheetos, the top RCL teams will be using every move available to them.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Son felt Laura’s heat last week and instead of getting out of the kitchen, he turned on a few more burners, gaining three points this week and leading the ‘Perts League in IP, strikeouts, WHIP, and co-led in saves.  Laura, meanwhile, led the league in RBIs, ERA and co-led in wins.  These two have no quit in them.

Grey was the biggest point-earner this week, picking up 3.5 points as he led the league in Runs, HRs, and batting average.  Our biggest loser was JKJ, who dropped 3.5 points.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

There is only one week left to make that final push in the Championship Round.  Only the top ten will advance from this group.  Joseph Asher claimed the top spot with an epic week, gaining more than 175 more points than the next team.  In doing so, they moved up 17 spots and should be able to cruise into the finals now.  JKJ and Coolwhip are going to need big weeks this week if they want to represent the home team in the finals.  They sit in 12th and 13th at the moment, about 30 and 45 points behind the tenth place team, DDD.

10 Backdoor Splitters ECFBL 102.1 100.5 102 100.5

I pondered some of FFB’s trades last week and said, “I’m not sure what FFB is scheming, but I’ve seen them clobber leagues, so I trust their judgment there”.  Well, now don’t I feel like a smarty-pants as FFB takes the overall lead this week?  The answer is yes, yes I do.  YOu all may recall FFB fell just short of the overall Championship in 2019, losing out to Backdoor Cutters.  Last year saw them finish in ninth overall so we could be looking at three straight top tens and an overall championship to boot if FFB can hold on.  With three lead changes in three updates, it’s going to be tight.

Orlando Calrissians & Son each move up a spot this week as Laura slips down to fourth and Grimey falls to fifth.

Milo the Cat makes their top ten debut this week, moving up 12 spots to sixth overall.

Dunphys Joint Venture has been on a steady rise as well, they were last week’s TOW and they continue their climb up from 13th to seventh this week.

Team cubbiebluez falls three spots this week, and we have a league battle finishing out our top ten this week with Stl Squat Cobblers and Backdoor Splitters separated by 1.5 points in the ECFBL and 0.8 in the overall standings!

WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.75 – Team coachdalmore (RCL 2021 (#31)) (in 45.1 IP)

I fell one run short of a new Runs record and I am very sad.

FCL had themselves a week, leading the RCLs in three categories and an FCL team was one of the four co-leaders for the saves league as well.  Creative Chaos rode 112.1 IP to an RCL leading 110 Ks and 10 Wins.  Nice work commenters!

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: WM & D

League: RCL 2021 (#13)

Stats:   AVG: .277, R: 57, HR: 20, RBI: 58, SB: 5

IP: 85.1, ERA: 2.64, WHIP: 1.078, K: 83, W: 7, SV: 5

Summary: WM & D almost rode their hot week right into the top ten, but fell just short, at 12th overall, jumping up three places with a TOW-inducing week.  Marcus Semien and Austin Riley paced the offense while Gerrit Cole’s great week led the pitching side of things.  WM & D is running away with RCL #13 and this past week put an exclamation point on it.  Nicely done!
