I have no idea why, but Manny Machado is only projected for 0.5 points tonight on Draft. I’m guessing it has something to do with them being in an AL park throwing off his playing time expectation, even though he’ll obviously be in the lineup batting third for the Dodgers. It’s incredible that Machado of all players was gifted with this low projection, as he’s already one of the best hitters on the board playing in Texas, an extreme hitter’s park, against a weak pitcher in Mike Minor. If you’re lucky, other owners may forget about Machado entirely, and you can snag him at the end of your draft.

David Price, SP: Price is on an insane run right now, with 35 strikeouts in his last 35 innings with just six walks and a 1.29 ERA. It should continue against the Marlins, who have just a .289 wOBA versus lefties, making them one of the easiest matchups in the game.
Joey Lucchesi, SP: The Mariners are actually a pretty weak lineup against southpaws with their .306 wOBA, and Lucchesi gets to face them in one of the best pitcher’s parks in San Diego. Plus, in an NL ballpark, they’ll be forced to keep Nelson Cruz on the bench, one of their best hitters against left-handed pitching.
Trea Turner, IF: I love Turner as the leadoff man in a hitter-friendly park in Philadelphia. He’s facing Arrieta, who has just a 17.9% K-rate, and Turner’s speed plays well against pitchers he can get the ball in play against.
Xander Bogaerts, IF: Bogaerts has been crushing the ball over the last 15 days, posting a 1.029 OPS. He can do more damage at home against Trevor Richards and the awful Marlins pitching staff.
Eddie Rosario, OF: Even with a weak second half, Rosario has a strong 125 wRC+ against righties and still bats third for the Twins.
Michael Brantley, OF: Brantley will be batting second against Kohl Stewart, who has a 6.94 ERA through three career starts. In the industry, we call that number “not good.”
Rhys Hoskins, OF: Another weird low projection is on Hoskins, who is only at 0.6 points on Draft. He should mash against Gio Gonzalez and you should be able to snag him late.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
There looks to be a chance of rain in a few games: Mets-Cubs and Brewers-Reds are the most threatened and could see a delay, but shouldn’t be postponed. Keep an eye on Twins-Indians and Rays-Braves as well.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The Athletics stand a good chance at +135 if Trevor Cahill is able to shut down the Astros again.
