Jimmy Rollins, Broken Ankle
News starts to trickle out that it’s more than an ankle sprain for Jimmy Rollins. It looks like Rollins has a broken ankle. If only he had wrapped that Ace bandage around his ankle as tight as he braids his hair. If this news turns out to be true, I’d say you have two options: trade him ASAP or put him on your DL for at least a month. I think you’re better off grabbing a shortstop (try Eric Brunlett on for size) and putting J-Roll on your DL. Before you jump off the Tappan-Zee, I had Chase Utley in a very important league last year. I grabbed Iguchi when Utley was hurt and won the league. Was Iguchi as good as Chase? What, are you drinking at 6 o’clock on a Wednesday? No, of course he wasn’t. And Brunlett will not be as good as Rollins, but he should get a handful of stats to ease the pain of the Rollins loss.
BTW, I should specify this was nothing but internet rumor when I wrote it. And for tiers of truth, internet rumor ranks just below the ‘Nam story your crazy uncle keeps telling you.

So Khalil Greene has been pretty bad so far this year. I’m thinking of dropping him for Crosby or Lugo. Stupid?
@jason: I think unless you need Lugo’s steals, you gotta hold pat with Greene.

so Grey, lets say Double E, Kotchman, and Melky are sitting as pretty little FA’s on the waiver and you have Peralta and Sheff on your team..do you drop either for someone or keep stashin’ Sheff till he gets feelin good and hope Peralta gets good again?
@john: I’m assuming position doesn’t matter and the pickup would go in the utility spot, so I’d lose Sheff for Edwin.

Well, I’m actually sporting Furcal at the shortstop position, and Peralta is rocking my utility but i’m a little surprised, I mean with Detroit’s O hittin on all cylinders now, you don’t think he’ll recover?
@john: Actually I’m pretty worried about his injured finger and his sore shoulder.
Sheff, that is.

Yea, i’m thinking because of this little break, his finger is should heal up but that shoulder is a little worrying. My problem is I still think he’s the Sheff from when he was in Atlanta.
I’d also hold onto Khalil Greene for now. The HRs will come. Here’s some more confirmation: http://kobayashibaseball.blogspot.com/2008/04/looking-for-homeruns.html
And I’d take Edwin over Peralta and Sheff at UTIL.

I have (gulp) Rollins and need some advice. Which should I do?…
A.) Trade him for J. “Lips” Papelbon (this has been offered and i need saves) or…
B.) Pick up one of J.J. Hardy, David Eckstein, Yuniesky Betancourt or Jason Bartlett off the wire.
Eh?
P.S. I’m a huge fan of the “Lips” nickname.
Can you afford to lose some steals? I would pick up Hardy and do the trade.
