Welcome back to Hitter Profiles for the 2024 fantasy baseball season. Last week we covered the NL West and this week we head over to the AL East. A division full of teams that all have postseason hopes, there are bound to be a bevy of fantasy assets for the pickings. 2024 welcomes Juan Soto and Corbin Burnes to the division which certainly will boost their values. We also have exciting young talent on teams like the Orioles and Rays that are trying to stake claim after years of watching the Yankees and Red Sox draw the spotlight. This year, there is an argument that any team could win the division and we may have over half the division in the playoffs. Excitement awaits for us as we dive into the AL East. So without further ado let’s walk through the boom and bust candidates in this competitive division!

Happy New Year, Razzballers! Yes, we’re in the middle of what already feels like an extra-long offseason, but I’m going to try my best to stay positive about both the upcoming year of baseball, and everything else currently happening on our little planet.  As I usually do, I started drafting during the week of Thanksgiving and have now drafted four teams (all mixed league, 15-team 5×5 redraft variety – two 30-rounders with FAAB starting in April, and two Draft and Hold leagues). So before I get to my regular weekly deep-league grind, we’ll spend the next several weeks taking a broader view of the fantasy baseball landscape, going position by position to talk about depth, approach, draft trends, hits and misses from last year, real-life or fantasy roster construction, predictions, hunches, and/or anything else that strikes our fancy. And I do mean “our”:  this winter, I’m finding diving headfirst into draft preparation and fantasy discussion that much more therapeutic, so I hope to hear from those of you like-minded individuals out there as often as possible in the comments — whether it’s a question, a comment, a piece of advice, or just a random thought about fantasy baseball.

Welcome to the re RE started 2020 Summer Camp preseason Top 100. It’s Corona’s world and we’re all just living in it. To wit: There is no specific time period for the Covid-19 IL. Two weeks? A month? Considering it takes two negative tests to come back, and even still medical science has more questions than answers, a positive test could turn the #1 pick into a non factor for your team. In an eight or nine week season, two weeks or more on the shelf is devastating. With that in mind, and Rudy’s alchemy, we’ve got some surprises. Keep in mind health and the Universal DH play a huge role, along with divisional changes.

With that said, once again it’s seamhead heaven, boys of summer katnip, and time to put away the hot stove. Of course we’re picking up our junior health care specialist kits, but I digress. Summer camp baseball has just started. Beer is flowing from Fenway Park to Anaheim Stadium and lazy afternoons at your house, or if you’re lucky your deck, are in vogue.

Finally, let’s be honest, no one truly knows what’s going to happen. So here’s the new pre-season Top 100.”Last” is tracking where the hitters were in the last Top 100 of March of 2020. “Change” is a change from that last 2020 ranking.
