I hope our American readers all had a restful long weekend and kept our veterans in their thoughts (hopefully our non-American readers had great weekends too). Now is the time standings solidify, and you really need to take a hard look at those standings and decide where you can make moves, where you can trade from strengths, and patch up weak spots. If you just got Acuna back, congratulations! Hopefully, you aren’t too far behind to make a move. It’s wild that it was almost one year to the day that Acuna went down, and now he’s back cranking dingers and even attempting a steal. Baseball is fun, let’s have fun and make some moves in the standings or hold onto those top spots. Here’s a look at the week that was, week 9 in the Razzball Commenter Leagues:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
The rich got richer this week as Kirksy broke open his lead to 9.5 points, adding 7.5 points, the most in the league this week. The Lineup Builder made a nice jump this week, too, adding 5.5 points and moving up two spots to fifth. Going the other way this week were Cram It (-7) and Coolwhip (-6.5), with Coolwhip dropping the most places in the standings, losing two spots and slipping to eighth.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Rob Sherwood has done the impossible and changed the standings in Razzslam. I swear it always feels like whoever gets out to the lead in week three holds it the entire year, but Rob has leapfrogged Zachary and proven that miracles do happen. Mario Rotondi even busted into the top ten in dramatic fashion, scoring the most points (765) this week and jumping to third overall. Ryan Amore moved up the most spots this week (72) thanks to 717 points of his own. I’m also expanding to the top 12 this week for our Coullie, who is currently clobbering my Razzslam league.
**REMINDER: ONE WEEK FROM TODAY (6/3) is the second AND FINAL FAAB period for the RazzSlam. GET THOSE BIDS IN, SPEND THAT MONEY $$

Nine deals this week, with two involving Tanner Bibee, and two involving Cedric Mullins. A buy low and a sell high, perhaps? That’s how I would look at those. Laura absolutely stealing Brent Rooker is pretty sweet for her. Again, just my opinion, but I’d trade a top closer for Rooker any day, please, make me offers before the summer heat in bing bong stadium gets cranking. Speaking of closers, STL Squat Cobblers unloaded a couple. The Cobblers are currently up five saves on the next closest team and 12 up on the team after that while sitting dead last in ECFBL in innings pitched. Finally, the Gore for Ketel and Mullins deal received three vetos, and I can’t for the life of me figure out which side they think is unfair here. Luckily, it went through, but please explain why this is veto-worthy.

No records this week, but I finally made an appearance on the leaderboard, which is nice. Also, shoutout to Anthony and Correa-patra on the team name. That’s A-plus nerd, and I love it.
Some more stats from the week from VinWins:
57 teams had an ERA below 2.00! 33 were above 5.
9 teams hit under .200 (35 last week)
36 teams hit over .300. (20 last week)
32.6% of the schedule has been completed. 326 IP would be on pace for the 1000 IP minimum. 457 IP is on pace for the maximum 1400 IP.
Vin also keeps a sheet with all kinds of fun RCL stats up to date, and this week he added an IP/Win tab. This is a metric I enjoy for determining the “luckiest” and “unluckiest” in terms of win luck. For example, Bzerko13 (RCL 9) is getting a win every 10 IP!! That is some serious luck so far! Check out Vin’s page HERE.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Anacott Steel
League: RCL 10
Stats: AVG: .270, R: 53, HR: 19, RBI: 57, SB: 11
IP: 56.2, ERA: 2.06, WHIP: 1.147, K: 54, W: 6, SV: 8
Summary: As I mentioned, standings are solidifying, and while we aren’t seeing 30-point jumps per week, teams can still make moves. This week, Anacott Steel gained 8 points and moved within a half point of the lead in RCL 10. Trea Turner led the team in all categories, hitting .400 with eight Runs, three Home Runs, eight Runs Batted In, and four Steals. Aaron Judge and Jake Burger also hit three homers, while Teoscar Hernandez, Ivan Herrera, and Austin Hays all drove in seven. Jose Caballero was just 2 for 16, but contributed three stolen bases. Luis Castillo and Sonny Gray paced the pitching staff with two starts each. Gray allowed three runs in 12 innings and struck out 15. Castillo gave up three in 13 innings and added 11 Ks. Both won once, as did Drew Rasmussen and Ranger Suarez, who combined for 12.2 scoreless innings. Five pitchers recorded saves, with Kenley Jansen earning three and Robert Suarez two. Ryan Helsley and Carlos Estevez each had a win and a save. Nice week!
