It’s hard to believe there’s only one week to go in the Razzball Commenter Leagues. This marathon of a season has seen us torture ourselves for 25 long weeks, agonizing over batty calls, dipping into the streamers with mixed results, cursing players, and praising others. We’ve ignored our families, our jobs, and our personal hygiene and now it all comes down to the final week. You may smell like stale Funyuns, but dagummit, that virtual fantasy trophy is all yours! Speaking of trophies, FFB is looking to lock down their overall RCL Championship trophy. This is deja vu all over again for FFB. They held the overall lead into week 25 back in 2019, only to lose it right at the end to Backdoor Splitters. This year, it’s going to be Milo the Cat or Stl Squat Cobblers who have a shot to unseat the Babies. It’s a bigger cushion for FFB than in 2019, three points is a tough number to overcome and I really think they hold on here barring an incredible finish. We’ll go over some incredible weeks, check-in on the ‘Perts League finish, and more in the week that was week 25:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Laura held on for another week despite going backward for the first time in ages. As Son knows, when you’re at the top, there’s nowhere to go but down. Laura lost 1.5, but still sits two points ahead of Son and ten up on me.
Coolwhip continued his slide, dropping the most points in the league this week (4.5) as he fell to 78 points. I’m not sure Grey has the horses to pass Whip and move into fourth place though. The only drama here is if Laura can hang on in the final week.

Our top two held steady this week with FFB and Milo the Cat battling it out. A new contender has entered the arena this week as Stl Squat Cobblers picked up major points in ECFBL to push into third and move Dunphy’s Joint Venture to fourth.
Orlando Calrissians move up one spot, Bad River moves up two and Team bnrgoalie jumped up a hopping ten spots to all leap over Laura and move into fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively, as Laura dropped all the way to eighth.
WM & D moved up six spots to jump back into the top ten, and Brian’s Team rounds us out as they move up one spot to also get back in the top ten this week.

Don’t mind Vin and me, one of our 50 teams is bound to make this list. Vin managed to tie the weekly Wins record and I fell four strikeouts short of the strikeout record. That makes me wish I had streamed just one more start. Bad River was a force this week and it’s no wonder they jumped up the top ten. We’ll talk some more about them right about….now:
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Bad River
League: RCL 2021 (#33)
Stats: AVG: .309, R: 69, HR: 22, RBI: 70, SB: 6
IP: 65.1, ERA: 3.44, WHIP: 1.087, K: 60, W: 5, SV: 2
Summary: When you lead the RCLs in multiple categories, there’s a very good chance at TOW honors. Bad River went ham on offense and wasn’t too shabby on the pitching side either. In a week where plenty of teams had inflated IP totals, Bad River nabbed top team honors with a very normal, 65 IP. Bad River gained 2.5 league points and the rest of RCL #33 is staring up at them. No surprise that Paul Goldschmidt anchored the offense. I faced this guy in H2H playoffs this past week and he nearly single-handedly beat me. On the pitching side, Shane Baz was the stud leading the way, getting two of those five wins for Bad River. Nice work Bad River!
