We are back this week with more stats than you can shake a stick at! Rudy and the RCL Bots have returned giving us three weeks’ worth of numbers to parse through. We’ve had quite a few shake-ups in three weeks of the Razzball Commenter Leagues. The trade deadline has come and gone and it’s really getting to be crunch time now. We only have about seven weeks remaining, but that’s still enough time to make a move. Just ask the teams who just had amazing three-week stretches. We’ll take a look at those outstanding weeks, all the last-minute trades that went down, updates in the ‘Perts League, and more for the week that was week 19.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
When we last left our heroes the ‘Perts league was the Son and Coolwhip show. While it’s still Son’s show, a new competitor has entered the arena. Behold, Laura! Laura has had a nutty three-week span, gaining 14.5 points and pushing herself into second place, just eight points behind Son. Maybe all that talk from Grey and me about how no one was catching Son lit a fire under Laura’s team. Just this past week Laura led the league in every single offensive category. Every. One. Laura also led the league ERA and co-led in Wins. Eesh. All that was good for a league-leading 6.5 points gained this week.
Meanwhile, Coolwhip has done his part to help, dropping 12 points over the past three weeks (seven this week alone) and falling down to fourth. I’m just hanging out in between these two, spinning my wheels in third.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Welcome to round 2 of the RazzSlam playoffs. From here, the only thing that matters is the top ten overall, all of whom will face off TO THE DEATH in the final round for all the RazzSlam glory. Nicholas Mariano is the current leader in the clubhouse. There are still two weeks to go and all that really matters is making the dance. Coolwhip and JKJ are both currently on the bubble in 11th and 12th. Cross your fingers for our Razzbois.

As if slashing through the ‘Perts League weren’t enough, Laura also claimed the top overall spot in the Master Standings during our update hiatus. RCL Update: Laura Edition. Laura has pushed up to 110 league points in RCL #9, that, combined with the 102 LCI has her sitting pretty over Grimey, Orlando Calrissians, and Son.
Team cubbiebluez has moved from tenth to fifth since we last checked in and FFB is still hanging around, just waiting to pounce.
We have a couple of fresh teams this week with bnrgoalie and Brians team both checking in.
Vottoman Empire rounds us out this week. Vottoman has been in the top ten already this year, but with a different team, he’s just swapping top ten teams in and out like you change your socks.

Twenty trades went down in our final week of trading action. I made three in last-ditch attempts to pick up any and all points down the stretch. I even made a deal with Son in the ‘Perts League, which could be incredibly stupid, but as I mentioned before, I’ve just been spinning my wheels there.
Yu Darvish, Jose Berrios, and Max Muncy were each traded for Alex Reyes this week. Fingers crossed the Cardinals provide plenty of save opportunities in the final weeks. I’m a bit surprised by the Ohtani trade, that seems like a very good deal to nab the two-way star. I’m not sure what FFB is scheming, but I’ve seen them clobber leagues, so I trust their judgment there. I traded Mookie right at the gun in a move that could look silly or could look genius depending on what the Dodgers do with Mookie before the playoffs.
When all was said in done, RCLers made 186 trades this year involving 566 players. 240 different players were moved. The most traded players this season were Yordan Alvarez and Starling Marte, who were each moved eight times, and fittingly, Son and I swapped these two for one another right at the buzzer. RCL #18 was our busiest trading league, completing 22 deals. Of those 22 trades, our most active trader, Auto-21 was involved in 18. RCL #29 and Night of the Living Zombinos were the second most active leagues, each recording 13 deals. 13 leagues made no trades this year. Athletically Unathletic (12) and Team Draft Difficulties RCL (10) were our second and third most active managers in the trade market.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 178 – Racehorse (RCL 2021 (#2))
HR –60 – Fat Fuckin Babies (Cougs R Us)
RBIs – 183 – Backdoor Splitters (ECFBL)
SB – 35 – STL Cardinals (RCL 2021 (#37))
AVG – .309 – Deadites (RCL 2021 (#25))
K – 247 – SanPedro Guitarristas (RCL 2021 (#6))
W – 24 – Los Boricualizers (RCL 2021 (#15)) (Back to back updates leading the RCLs)
SV – 21 – EES84 (RCL 2021 (#7))
ERA (Min. 120 IP) – 2.10 – Mr Big & Bud Goode (RCL 2021 (#24)) (in 150.1 IP)
WHIP (Min. 120 IP) – 0.968 – The Colonels (Julio) Gotay (Original Recipe) (in 136.1 IP)
With three weeks of data to crunch, we’ve got some monster numbers to look at. I upped the minimum on the IP to 120 IP and even still, we had a team go sub 1 on the WHIP. Congratulations to Los Boricualizers for leading the RCLs in Wins back in week 16 and keeping that rolling through to this update. FFB and Backdoor Splitters are out here finishing strong as they both push up the Master Standings. Nice work everyone!
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Dunphys Joint Venture
League: RCL 2021 (#23)
Stats: AVG: .270, R: 162, HR: 45, RBI: 155, SB: 10
IP: 186.2, ERA: 2.31, WHIP: 1.087, K: 211, W: 20, SV: 12
Summary: Team of the three weeks? Doesn’t have as nice a ring to it, but that’s exactly what Dunphys Joint Venture (DJV) pulled off. What a run DJV has had! Excellent offense combined with a near RCL-leading ERA over that period is enough to make you gasp. The stellar effort moved DJV up 40 spots in the Master Standings, up to 13th overall as they are now knocking on the door of the top ten overall. The big guns got it done for DJV as Jose Ramirez, Bryce Harper, and George Springer led the offense while Max Scherzer, Shane McClanahan, and Vladimir Gutierrez handled the pitching side of things. DJV’s quick rise just goes to prove that no team is out of it yet.
