Hello there, RCLers and welcome to another weekly round-up. We’re hitting the dog days of the Razzball Commenter Leagues now, this is the time of year where teams in the bottom half of the standings check out and start drafting fantasy football teams. But not you, good reader, you are sticking around for the long haul and grinding out those roto points. Just a friendly reminder that our RCL trade deadline is approaching. August 14th at midnight is your last chance to make any moves via trade. I expect the next two weeks to be very busy with trades. Speaking of the next two weeks, Rudy and the RCLBots are going to be out of commission for a bit. That means today’s update and next weeks will be a bit smaller than normal with no Master Standings and no weekly stats to dig through. However, the update on August 17th will be jam-packed with info, we’ll have three weeks of stats as well as an updated Master Standings. A lot can happen in three weeks, so stay tuned.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
We always have plenty of ‘Perts League action to chat about and this week Son pushed back up to 103, which means he’s likely back near the top of the Master Standings. Coolwhip slipped this week and now sits a full 10 points back. Try as we might, I don’t think we’re catching Son.
Laura and JKJ had the best weeks, each gaining four points, but neither moved up any in the standings. Laura is the proud owner of three shiny, new closers. We’ll see how long Ian Kennedy, Kyle Finnegan, and Cole Sulser hold onto the jobs, but Laura will soak every last save out of them until then.
Cram It was the biggest loser this week, dropping seven points as he struggles to gain any traction. Cram It held onto seventh place though. In fact, the only movement this week was B_Don moving into eighth, pushing Itch to ninth.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
We have one week remaining in round one of the RazzSlam playoffs and one good week is all you really need to make a big move here. Sporer found that out this week after posting a RazzSlam leading 736 points this week to move up 13 places and into third overall. Not too shabby. RotoWan also had himself a nice week, with 690 points and the biggest gain of anyone, moving up 28 places to 17th overall. The top 30 overall moves onto round two. You just need to make it to the dance to have a shot at the Championship. Here are the top ten teams as things stand on August 1st:
There is also the Wild Card Tier, where the top three advance to the round 2 Championship Tier. Malamoney and Smada are on the outside looking in, but Nux appears primed to advance:

There were some wacky deals this week in the RCLs. I feel like FFB was less focused on making a good deal and just wanted to trade for some roster flexibility. I get that, those open roster spots can be very valuable for streaming, but I still don’t want to sell myself short. I know Mookie hasn’t been very Mookie, but eesh.
Diamond Archers robbed Jose Ramirez, well done.
That deal for Mike Trout would have never flown going into the season, but here and now, it doesn’t look so bad. It’s a nice return for an injured Trout.
Speaking of injuries, trading for Mondesi right now just seems silly. I would love to trade my injured Mondesi shares for some Franimal.
I can’t wait to see what the next two weeks leading up to the trade deadline stir up for deals.
