Hello Razzball Commenter Leaguers and welcome to another RCL Update. I am currently on vacation and have had way too many White Claws and far too much sun, so please bear with me on today’s update. I’m still here with you, through thick and through thin. We have exciting news in the Master Standings and we have some serious chatting to do about the RazzSlam playoffs. Did you know there were playoffs? Me either, so we can talk about that. We had a slew of trades and some serious offense this week as well. It feels good to have a full week again and to be back in the swing of things for the second half of our game. Let’s go ahead and dive into the week that was, week 16:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
There was only one change in the ‘Perts League this week, Crammy gained one spot, up to seventh, pushing Itch down to eighth. Cram gained the most points this week with 6.5 as he led the league in strikeouts and saves. The rest of the league can see some light, as Son dropped four points (the most in the league this week) and fell to 101. Maybe Son is human, maybe we can catch him, or maybe he’ll gain seven points next week, but we can dream.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
If you go take a look at the overall standings right now in the RazzSlam, you’ll notice things look a little different, some new names appear in the top ten. Turns out, we’ve turned the page to the playoffs. For more information on how the playoffs work, you can click HERE. Maybe because I’ve never needed to worry about it, but I forgot the playoffs were a thing. The quick and dirty is that points reset and every team in the playoffs has their season average score added to their weekly totals from now until August 8th. Leading the pack right now is Zach Meyer, with Nicholas Mariano, who led much of the regular season, currently in second. The remainder of the top ten is new names until we reach Coolwhip and Yatta, both teams who were in the top ten overall to finish the regular season. We’ll keep an eye on this playoff race in the coming weeks.

Grimey is back on top! With Son’s big ‘Perts League loss this week, Grimey was right there ready to take the baton. Son’s Writer’s League team jumps up into second and Orlando Calrissians move into third as Son’s ‘Perts League team falls all the way to fourth overall.
Team mpaltrow remains in fifth this week and FFB jumps back into the top ten overall at sixth. Watch out for FFB making a move for the top spot.
The Squat Cobblers make a big jump this week, from 22nd to seventh with their ECFBL squad.
The TeePee and Laura Holt stay in eighth and ninth respectively and we are rounded out this week by Team cubbiebluez in tenth.

We had ten trades this week in the RCLs, I was involved in three of those. I needed a shake-up in Cougs R Us as I’m just stuck in the middle, going nowhere. RCL #35 was a league I led to start the year and am looking to get back into the lead. I love my upgrades there nabbing Whit for some steals and trading some excess pitching for some power and average in Nelson Cruz.
Whit Merrifield, Yordan Alvarez, Starling Marte, and Eduardo Escobar all moved twice this week. I like both deals for Yordan as I hope and pray for a huge second half from him.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 63 – Hughbot (RCL 2021 (#10))
HR –28 – Team Winners_DO (RCL 2021 (#4))
RBIs – 69 – Son (RCL 2021 (#26))
SB – 12 – Team Rhufty (RCL 2021 (#5)) & stardawg (RCL 2021 (#37))
AVG – .343 – Hoople Head (RCL 2021 (#16))
K – 118 – Los Boricualizers (RCL 2021 (#15))
W – 7 – Los Boricualizers (RCL 2021 (#15))
SV – 12 – Fat Fuckin Babies (Cougs R Us)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 1.67 – Rube Waddells Shiny Objects (Frequent Commenters League) (in 43 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.75 – Team cubeee (RCL 2021 (#21)) (in 60 IP)
We tied the weekly homerun record this week, which is pretty shocking to me considering that beat last year’s record by three and we’ve now done that twice. We also came just four runs short of a new record there. Los Boricualizers was six strikeouts away from a new record as well.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Los Boricualizers
League: RCL 2021 (#15)
Stats: AVG: .225, R: 45, HR: 15, RBI: 48, SB: 4
IP: 114, ERA: 3.87, WHIP: 1.123, K: 118, W: 7, SV: 4
Summary: I don’t usually love when TOW is awarded to a team that simply stacks innings, but it is what is and at least this is still a solid all-around week from Los Boricualizers. If you lead the RCLs in two pitching categories and don’t totally fall on your face on offense, you really do deserve some recognition. 15 dingers are nothing to shake a stick at, nor are those ratios in 114 IP. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and try to stream your way to 114 IP and see what you come up with for an ERA. Nelson Cruz and Akil Baddoo each chipped in three dongs and Patrick Sandoval pitched a near no-hitter to complete one heck of a week for Los Boricualizers.
