Week 15 is in the books, next week is the All-Star Break and a little breather for those of us who have been grinding Razzball Commenter Leagues. Let’s finish strong, rest up, and then hit the ground running in the second half. This is also your final week to make it into the top two in your RazzSlam league. If you’re not (like me) also know that the RazzBowl is now accepting participants over on the football side. We also have updated Master Standings this week for you to pore over during the break, agonizing over why that team behind you in the league standings is ahead of you in the Master Standings. It does happen, there’s a lot more than league standings that go into the overall. Let’s take a look at those and the rest of the goodies from the week that was, week 15.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Kirksey pulled back up and created some more cushion, gaining two points this week as Son lost 2.5. The big gainer this week was Mike C, who tossed an incredible 83.2 IP to the tune of 2.80 ERA and a 0.825 WHIP. Incredible. That was good for a 5.5 point gain this week. Going the other way was Grey, who dropped 7.5 points after a rough week of offense (8 homers) and ratios (5.22/1.336). Grey slipped to eighth with that showing.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Expanding to the top 20 this week, before we swap to Championship and Consolation standings. This also allows us to show off Rudy and Knoche doing work for Team Razzball. Taylor Case held onto the top spot this week. Robert Weddig had a nice week, moving up three places to third overall, and Matt Poole also moved up three spots to sixth, thanks to the most points scored this week (768). Greg Hoogkamp moved up the most standings places this week with a 39-spot jump, thanks to 678 points scored. Nice work, everyone.

Last year’s overall champ is still clinging to their overall lead this update, nice work, Gunk! Those 110 league points are going to be very hard to beat in that super competitive league.
There are a few other teams surging, though. Longballers jumped into second overall with an 11 spot jump and sits solidly on the podium for now.
Jerk Store & Raleigh ‘Round the Family each had big jumps this period, vaulting themselves into the top ten overall.
Plenty of other familiar names pepper the top 20, Laura, Backdoor, password is taco, and more. There’s still plenty of baseball to be played coming out of the ASB. I know I’m shooting for another top 20 finish from at least one team. Good luck!
TRADES
All the trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.
DATE | LEAGUE | DETAILS |
---|---|---|
6/30/2025 | Original Recipe |
Hammerin Hank traded Max Fried to The Planet of the Vegans for Kyle Schwarber
|
7/3/2025 | COUGS R US |
Afternoon Delights traded Jhoan Duran to Gilson Schmilsson for Mike Trout
|
7/4/2025 | DFSers Anonymous |
Raleigh ‘Round the Family traded Mookie Betts to MapleCanuck for Jarren Duran
|
7/5/2025 | COUGS R US |
Dunphy’s Joint Venture traded Bryan Reynolds to Not Enough for Trevor Megill & Abner Uribe
|
Only four deals this week, all from our legacy leagues. Some big names on the move too, Max Fried, Kyle Schwarber, Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, and a pair of Durans. I like the Megill / Uribe combo, could end up with two closers there if Megill gets traded.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 73 – Big Boppers (RCL 26)
HR –27 – JamScandal (NOTLZ)
RBIs – 70 – Big Boppers (RCL 26)
SB – 13 – TripleBs (RCL 8) & SquatCobblers2 (RCL 17)
AVG – .341 – Bob Sugar’s Baseball Club (RCL 26)
K – 106 – Srbanator (RCL 22)
W – 9 – Gilson Schmilsson (COUGS R US)
SV – 11 – Team Tokyo (RCL 5)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 0.96 – MonoStereo (RCL 27) (in 46.2 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.628 – Lindorphins (RCL 30) (in 49.1 IP)
Boppers gonna bop, and bop they did. Big Boppers got bopped out of the weekly HR record by JamScandal (more on them in a minute), but managed to set a new record in Runs, so they remain on the board in some capacity.
JamScandal, meanwhile, led the RCLs in HR this week, increasing their overall lead in the category (254, 30 more than second place) and are now on pace to beat the season long record (440), being on pace for 456. Raleigh, Judge, and Schwarber are leading the way. Pretty remarkable numbers so far.
And some more stats from the week from VinWins:
35 teams had an ERA below 2.00. 26 were above 6.
6 teams hit under .200 (6 last week)
39 teams hit over .300. (22 last week)
55.6% of the schedule has been completed. 556 IP would be on pace for the 1000 IP minimum. 778 IP is on pace for the maximum 1400 IP.
Before we jump into TOW, Vin also collects the monthly numbers and anointed a Team of the Month for June, which you can find HERE.
Only 49 SB led the way in June. Last month it was 69. Interesting that the number dropped so much. Probably because Chandler Simpson was demoted.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: cubbiehead
League: COUGS R US
Stats: AVG: .300, R: 54, HR: 20, RBI: 70, SB: 8
IP: 66.1, ERA: 2.31, WHIP: 0.95, K: 71, W: 5, SV: 4
Summary: COUGS R US, the RCL Champion’s League features the top 12 or so finishers from the overall standings the previous season and pits them all against each other. Needless to say, this league is a bloodbath, and just finishing above sixth is an accomplishment. There are no gimmes here. No team is missing the IP limit, and the chances of finding a new closer on the wire are slim to none. That said, cubbiehead made strides this week, gaining 9.5 points and moving from third to second. George Springer, who cubbiehead claimed off waivers March 31, was the offensive hero, hitting .429 with 5 home runs, 13 runs batted in, 9 runs scored, and even added a steal. Willy Adames finally started contributing, driving in 8 while leading the team with a.474 average. Peter Crow-Armstrong and Jasson Dominguez each knocked 2 bombs and stole 2 bases while batting over .400. There was an obvious leader on the pitching side as well. Zack Wheeler (acquired in an April trade) tossed 2 gems, earning 2 victories and striking out 22 in 17 innings with pristine ratios of 0.53/0.412. Nathan Eovaldi (5 shutout innings) and Seth Lugo (7 strikeouts) also recorded wins. Kevin Gausman struck out 12 in his 2 starts. Mason Miller (picked up in a deal at the start of June with Tanner Bibee for Cole Ragans) had 2 saves, while Felix Bautista added a win and a save. Cubbiehead now sits just 3.5 points from overtaking Gilson Schmilsson for the league lead. Well played.

Would Appreciate your insight of my streaming strategy.
In general, my SPs have been good (Rodon, Fried, Valdez, and Kelly). Casey Mize has been good. My choice of streamers has been poor. For example, I started EDRod last week and Jose Soriona last night.
1. How would you classify Reese Olson?
2. Would you start RO at home vs TB?
3. Would you only use David Peterson at home?
5. Thoughts on Ryne Nelson
6. I think that is time to waive Liberatore. Thoughts?
7. How do you decide whether to start or sit a streamer?
Any general advice would be much appreciated!!
Thanks!
streaming ain’t easy, just target COL on the road and CWS, that seems to be pretty good. do you have razzball tools for the stream-o-nator? seems like a good investment for you.
1) Olson is good, I’d add him
2) Yes – if you aren’t starting a pitcher at home, you should just drop them
3) No, I’d start him in some match-ups
4) there is no 4)
5) Nelson is meh
6) Yes
7) i look at several things, match-up first, look at teams with bottom ten team OPS, home vs away next, ballpark, etc, i use the stream-o-nator a bunch, also i read our DFS content, and finally, just gut feeling. streaming can be tricky, you won’t always get it right, blow-ups happen, you just need to be more right than wrong.
I have those tools and use them quite often. I really appreciate all your suggestions!.
I picked up Slade Cecconi after his impressive start tonight and dropped Jose Soriano.
Other options on the WW are:
Brendon Pfaadt who also had a good start tonight against SD
Will Warren. His next start is home vs the Cubs
1. Would you have made that move?
Also, I have Kershaw and Ryne Nelson as two of my streamers. Nelson starts this week at LAA,
2. Would you start Nelson at LAA?
Therefore, At this point, I have Cecconi, Kershaw and Nelson as my streamers.
3. Would you waive any these three to pick up either Pfaadt or Warren?
4. If yes, who would you cut?
5. Who would you pickup?
or just hold.
Thanks again!!!
Would you start Peterson at Baltimore?
Thanks!!!
sure!
1) i’m not really into slade, seems wildly inconsistent, but it’s fine if you wanna roll the dice.
2) yes, LAA is a team to target for streaming
3) nope, i’d avoid the cubs, they are top 3 in team OPS
Thanks so much!!!
Good news.
I found the secret to moving up the pitching rankings in Perts.
You guys had better hustle to the FA list and beat me to the punch!
HAHA
hey, i remember that guy!
Wow, what a surprise to see my team as the team of the week. Thanks for the shout out. I hope I can keep it up.
CubbieHead
congrats!
Thanks, appreciate it!
Longballers’ Team of the Month numbers stood him in good stead for the overall standings.
Enjoying my first-ever RCL baseball league. Is there a similar set up for football leagues outside of the “slam” concept. Would love to try that on as well.
i know they used to have RCLs, but I’m not sure if they do anymore
Oh gawd, Joe (Raleigh ‘Round the Family) is gonna be truly insufferable after this update … ;-)
haha, for real
Don’t know if you are taking into account that the team in 13th is also one of his.
So, what’s the next level beyond “truly” ?
epically
Haha you guys crack me up.
Being at least top 3 in all 5 RCLs this year through the break has been a lot of work. Have an outside shot to win all 5. Never thought I’d be top 10 in the overall. Hard work paying off and plenty of motivation from my detractors haha
That’s why I’m always nice to you. Don’t want to give you motivation!
Luis Robert & Alexis Diaz are back!! And here I was worried about my teams.
haha, return of the .180 batting average!
HAHA
New level on Patreon: Take Over Grey’s RCL team and fix this mess
haha, i could see this being a big seller!
if Gunk Squad goes back to back, i think he takes over Blair’s spot in Perts
We’re being in a ringer to take down Son!
Ha, Or Kirksey. Same moves one in first one in last.
i have been in every place between 11th and 4th in the last 10 days in the fcl.
You could have got 12th if you tried!
osb has it locked down
That sounds about same for me in my RCL, right now I can’t even see myself without scrolling down, it’s very upsetting
He’s just setting us up. Last year he said he was out of it and then he came back and finished first.
Haha
gotta sneak up. i’m on a 3 day streamer with a win streak. always a good sign
