Happy All Star Break my fellow RCLers. The Razzball Commenter Leagues can take a toll on your time, your social life, and your personal hygiene. I hope you’re using the break to take a shower, get out of your sweat pants, and get reacquainted with your roommates, also known as, your family. They’ve missed you. Spend a moment and remind them that you are in fact, alive and well. Show those that love you that you haven’t been lost in the wilderness for the past 14 weeks, being cared for by a pack of wolves. In fact, you’ve just been winning fantasy baseball leagues. You know, just like your idol, your very humble RCL host. Or, perhaps your idol might be Fred Garvin MP, current Champions League leader. Maybe you’re partial to FFB, perennial top RCL finisher, and current seventh place team. Or perhaps you look up to Laura or Son, both of which are currently out of the top ten but knocking on the door. Whomever it may be, hopefully, you’re kicking butt just like them and getting ready to keep it up in the second half. Check out the current Master Standings and the rest of the All Star Break stats in the week that was, week 14:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Despite a brutal week that included 40+ innings of 6.44 ERA and a four point drop, I managed to hold onto the top spot in ‘Perts, though the same can’t be said for my position in the Master Standings with this squad. Grey gets all the ‘Perts League glory this week as he tossed out 95 IP and compiled 9 wins, 95 strikeouts, and a 3.22 ERA. This was easily one of the best pitching performances of the week and it earned Grey seven points as he moved up to seventh place. Laura took the biggest hit this week, losing five points and dropping one place to fourth as her and Cram it swapped spots. B_Don tumbled three places this week to eighth, the biggest drop of the week.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
If you paid attention on Friday, you’d have seen Steve Paulo’s Razzslam breakdown of all the close races heading into the final few days before the first Cutline. As things stand right now, if you’re in the top six in your league, you’re in the playoffs! The top three move into the Championship Bracket and 4th-6th head into the Wild Card Bracket. In addition, everyone else will have a shot to jump back into the playoffs if they finish these next weeks as one of the top two teams. There’s really not much you can do but sit back and hope your team goes ham though, so enjoy the show. Those in the top ten, up above, they have nothing to worry about. Points reset now though, so Clark Olson’s 100-point lead will be whittled down to around 10 or so points. Each team’s weekly average is added to their score from here on out as per the RULES. Those dates aren’t entirely correct but never mind that. From here, we’re looking at the top 30 teams to move on, along with the top three from the WC bracket and the top two from the Uber Wild Card Bracket. JKJ will be hoping his team’s hot week carries over, JKJ put up a week-leading 702 points this week, not too shabby. Scott Frankel made the biggest jump this week, moving up 34 spots and securing a spot in the Championship Bracket.

As I mentioned in the lede, my ‘Perts League team took a tumble this week, but the benefit of having multiple teams in the top ten, is when one falters, another can pick up the slack. My DFSers team did that in a big way this week, adding 6.5 league points and taking over the top spot in style while my ‘Perts team fell to fifth. DonkeyCorns & stechsjj were right there to fill the vacated spots in second and third.
Fred Garvin MP has been threatening FFB for a while in Cougs and made their move this week, passing them in the league by three points and moving into fourth in the overall standings as FFB fell to seventh.
TheBallBusters grabbed sixth place this week, up from eighth last week as they swapped place with my RCL #37 team.
Scoboticus and AllRice are replaced this week by Jersey Pine 5 & Jeremy Gibbs in ninth and tenth.

It was a busy pre All Star break trading period as eleven trades went down. There are a few eyebrow raises, but nothing too horrendous. That Tanner Rainey deal is really unfortunate timing. Adolis Garcia, Logan Gilbert, and Lucas Gioltio each moved twice. Cougars R Us saw two trades, one involving Shohei Ohtani, which I’m always curious to see a return for, in this case, two stud pitchers. Athletically Unathletic seems to maybe be looking to divest some injury risk in moving Rodon and Buxton. If those two stay healthy though, Bad River got a bargain. That’s a big IF though. The deal in RCL #40 is a little odd, but when Blair mentioned yesterday he was fielding drop questions about Gausman, maybe it’s not so bad.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: stechsjj
League: RCL 2022 (#35)
Stats: AVG: .310, R: 69, HR: 18, RBI: 59, SB: 7
IP: 54, ERA: 1.50, WHIP: 0.741, K: 53, W: 5, SV: 2
Summary: It was a close race at the top of the TOW standings this week, with Grey putting up huge pitching numbers, he fell just shy of stechsjj, who had incredible ratios to go along with top offensive numbers. Stechsjj led the RCLs in runs and was near the top in batting average this week as well, while just missing on WHIP. The third place overall team just keeps on chugging and I don’t think I have any chance of catching them in RCL #35 where I’m sitting in third currently. Stechsjj has been an awesome team all season and weeks like this show why. Matt Olson came up huge this week and the pitching staff anchored by Shane Bieber, Clayton Kershaw, Luis Castillo, and Justin Verlander kept the ratios clean. Heck of a season so far stechsjj, keep it up!
