Happy week 12, everyone.  We’re into June now, and it’s officially summer.  That means it’s officially dog days.  We’ve completed eleven weeks, 40% of the season, creeping up on the halfway point.  This is when teams in the cellar turn toward football prep and leave those hardcore baseball heads among us to pick away at the standings and sneak up on those in first who have gotten complacent.  Stare at those standings pages and see where moves can be made.  Every point counts, stream some steals with The Great Knoche on Tuesdays, check out Professor P Rich on Fridays to stream a pitcher or target a pitcher to stream some hitters against in the DFS article, or check out the Perts League to see who Grey is streaming this week.  There is plenty of info out there, and plenty of time to make some big moves.  First, let’s check out the recap of week 11.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Kirksey, Dad, and Mike C remain atop the Perts League this week, but B_Don slid past Grey to take fourth place.  Grey took a huge tumble this week, dropping eight points and falling three spots down to seventh.  The 5.33 ERA probably had something to do with that.  It was a rough pitching week for Grey as he got Luzardo’d again, dropped him before the game was over for Ryne Nelson, who then gave him a 21 ERA the next day.  Couple that with a few reliever blow-ups, and you have an ugly ratio week.  Ouch.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

Rob and Zachary still sit 1-2 in the RazzSlam overall standings, but Walker Toma had the most points scored this week by a large margin (815 – 42 more than the next team) and shot up 15 spots to land in third ovall, pushing Taylor Case to fourth.  The Great Knoche held onto the tenth spot as he represents team Razzball well.  Earl Dietrich moved the most spots this week, jumping 72 places to 132nd overall thanks to 773 points.

TRADES

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

DATE LEAGUE DETAILS
6/2/2025 COUGS R US
Not Enough traded Tanner Bibee & Mason Miller to cubbiehead for Cole Ragans

El Duderinos traded Will Vest to WahooFan76 for Bubba Chandler
6/3/2025 RCL 33
Bandidos traded Mike Trout, Jordan Beck, & Spencer Strider to Starfish & Cofee for Cal Raleigh, Lars Nootbaar, & Ezequiel Tovar

6/6/2025 COUGS R US
The Sneetches traded Ryan O’Hearn & Trevor Megill to Not Enough for Kyle Finnegan & Jordan Beck
6/7/2025 RCL 6
ChetLemonade traded Jackson Holliday to Sasaki Bombs for Adolis Garcia

Just six deals this week, including two from me, both involving Jordan Beck.  I’m not even that big a Beck fan; that’s just how things went down.  It hurt losing Raleigh, but I somehow doubt he’s hitting 60 bombs this season, so expecting a slow down there.  I’ll take my 40 more games from Trout before he’s hurt again and hope Strider starts looking like the best pitcher in baseball after the ASB.  We’ll see.  I was also happy to get the best closer in baseball, Kyle Finnegan.  I can’t believe the Dodgers haven’t traded for him yet, tbh.

We set a new weekly record in RBIs this week, with cjsullivan hitting in 11 more than the next team.  They were the top hitting team by Vin’s numbers, and with a few more IP they could have been TOW as their pitching numbers were pretty good (35.67 IP/5 W/5 S/ 38 K/3.03/1.121).  Here’s how they did it:

Pete Alonso 5 HR/ 15 RBI

1.013 Ctownrebel ( CRAB ARMY ) 624.67 IP

WM&D ( CAUGHT LOOKING ) had an ERA of 0.99 this week to regain the best ERA (2.32). They still have a chance for a record ERA (2.56 RBV (RCL 31) 2022)

MOVES:

32 teams have made 0 moves.

The average # of moves is 56.

201 moves would be a 500-move pace for the season.

The most active team:

243 moves: Afternoon Delights (COUGS R US)

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Clear Vision

League: RCL 20

Stats:   AVG: .299, R: 49, HR: 14, RBI: 50, SB: 14

IP: 90.1, ERA: 2.89, WHIP: 1.052, K: 88, W: 5, SV: 3

Summary: Clear Vision piled on the IP this week but maintained some amazing ratios while also going 14/14 slam and legs.  Pete Alonso had an amazing week, hitting .400 with five home runs, 15 RBI, and nine runs to pace the offense. Tyler Soderstrom (8 RBI), Corbin Carroll, and Matt Wallner added two homers each. Jeremy Pena (.370/3 SB) continued to shine while Jake Meyers, Marcelo Mayer, Thairo Estrada, Hyeseong Kim, Miguel Vargas, Josh Smith, J.P. Crawford, and Otto Lopez proved to be excellent additions, combining for 21 hits in 45 ABs (.467).  On the pitching side, second round pick Paul Skenes continued to lead the team, striking out 15 in 15.2 IP with excellent ratios of 0.57/0.447. The Pirates couldn’t get him a victory, though. Their other 2-start SPs, Cristopher Sanchez (13 K/13 IP) and Tylor Megill (12 K/11 IP), did pick up a win each, as did Jameson Taillon, Will Warren, and Quinn Priester. Camilo Doval threw 4.0 innings and struck out eight to earn two saves.  The big week led to 16 points and moved Clear Vision up from 8th to 4th in RCL 20. Richard has had much historical success in RCLs, and currently has a top 20 overall team that is leading the RCL Champions League, COUGS R US.  Nice work, Richard!

That’s the second time my catcher has hit a home run off of one of my pitchers. Is there a word for that?

Hi Matt,

Because Jeremy Pena has been hot and zi have Lindor at SS, I was trying to trade Pena and would appreciate your input

My OF is:

LF: Ozuna and Yelich
CF: Buxton
RF: Butler and Carpenter

Do I need to upgrade by getting Andy Pages?

Another possibility is to try and get Kevin Gausman.

I am not sure if Pena is enough to get Gausman even though the trade Razz indicator says that Pena is worth 2x Gausman.

1. Would you try and get Pages?

2. Would you try and get Gausman with just Pena?

I could also offer Seth Lugo, Wacha, Olson or Warren?

I am reluctant to offer Peterson.

Of course, please feel free to recommend potential trades for Pena?

Thanks so much!!!
