It was smooth sailing for filling the Razzball Commenter Leagues this year.  Thank you, everyone, for getting in early and often!  Only three drafts remain at this point with all three waiting until the last possible moment to draft.  Three leagues drafted Monday night, including the Perts League.  Those Monday drafts are not included in the ADP sheet yet.  There are pros and cons to drafting early.  The biggest pro, of course, is the ability to snag rookies before their price goes sky-high.  Think of Junior Caminero last year.  Some teams got him around pick 100 while others had to take him around 60 by the end of draft season.  Maybe that is Kevin McGonigle and JJ Wetherholt this year.  The biggest con, of course,  is the injuries that can wreck your lineup.  Spencer Strider and Trey Yesavage drafters can unite here.  Sad times.  Drafters of any injured player can commiserate in the comments as we dive into some more juicy ADP data.

DRAFT TRENDS

This week we’ll take a look at all of Grey’s sleepers and where their current RCL ADP has them landing so you know when to strike.  Can’t remember whose tires December Grey was pumping?  That’s OK, I’ve got you covered.  As always, feel free to open up the RCL ADP SPREADSHEET that I maintain for all of your viewing pleasure, and check out your own sleeper target’s ADP.  You can also just copy out the data to your own Excel sheet and use it in your own War Room if that tickles your fancy.  Enjoy!

WE DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ NFBC ADP
We’ve got RCL ADP!  Here’s a list from our 38 league sample of some players whose ADPs I was curious about and some general notes.

Player ADP HI LO DIFF
Luke Keaschall 85.37 65 113 48
Kyle Stowers 105.58 70 200 130
Noelvi Marte 111.84 85 163 78
Chase Burns 115.71 68 193 125
Emmet Sheehan 129.5 103 172 69
Ryan Pepiot 135.53 93 187 94
Addison Barger 167.08 111 201 90
Daylen Lile 172 132 213 81
Daulton Varsho 172.32 123 214 91
Jack Leiter 246.63 195 300 105
Noah Cameron 253.21 195 300 105
Dominic Canzone 275.61 210 300 90
Matt Shaw 287.58 169 300 131
Lenyn Sosa 296.82 259 300 41

Luke Keaschall is the most…awoken of Grey’s sleepers. I have snagged a couple shares myself.  The speed and light power is kind of the perfect middle infidel.  On the pitching side, Chase Burns and Emmet Sheehan are getting the most hype.  With news that both of these guys could be in hybrid roles, I’m not sure how that will pan out.  I haven’t drafted either and instead am torturing myself with Spencer Strider and Trey Yesavage injuries.  Pick your pitcher poison, I suppose.  Some folks are still drafting Lenyn Sosa, who knew Lenyn’s mom was an RCLer!

Stowers is going to start falling with this hammy strain.  That’s a real shame.  I have plenty of early shares of his potential power.  That’s the game we play, drafting early.

RECENT TRENDS

Here’s a look at some changes in ADP from the start of draft season until now.  Early Draft Season vs. Mid-Late March Draft Season.

PLAYER ADP (2/23-3/15) ADP (3/16-3/22) DIFF
Matt McLain 170.56 113.6 56.96
Daniel Palencia 164.39 111 53.39
Ryan Walker 177.11 135.35 41.76
Seranthony Dominguez 237.89 196.5 41.39
Robert Garcia 219.17 181.15 38.02
Jeff Hoffman 150.89 114.55 36.34
Sal Stewart 184.61 148.6 36.01

JJ Wetherholt 213.11 181.85 31.26
Kenley Jansen 189.56 158.55 31.01
Wilyer Abreu 223.39 193.25 30.14
Bryan Abreu 198.61 168.6 30.01
Jac Caglianone 169.56 140.2 29.36
Shane McClanahan 220.94 192.2 28.74
Trevor Megill 165.33 137.55 27.78

I love that you can always tell when the legacy leagues and the high LCI leagues that are full of RCL sharks start drafting, and the closers start flying up the draft boards.  Why, you ask?  These high LCI leagues are leagues where every relief pitcher who can sniff a save is rostered, and those who aren’t get scooped up in nanoseconds when news breaks.  That makes all closers more valuable, and in leagues like ECFBL you won’t find one on the board after the 12th round or so.  Plus, in inning cap leagues, those closers with high K/9 are where the money is.

Matt McLain is seeing a lot of preseason helium.  I snagged him in one league, just to avoid the FOMO if he is finally breaking out.

PLAYER ADP (2/23-3/15) ADP (3/16-3/22) DIFF
Trey Yesavage 130.89 176.75 -45.86
Dylan Crews 175.56 219.85 -44.29
Brandon Woodruff 119.28 154.35 -35.07
Tanner Bibee 177.44 208.25 -30.81
Blake Snell 170.17 197.9 -27.73
Andrew Abbott 204.83 231.1 -26.27
Chase Burns 102.56 127.55 -24.99
Zac Gallen 195.78 219.75 -23.97
MacKenzie Gore 157.33 180.35 -23.02
Gavin Williams 139.33 162.15 -22.82
Robbie Ray 155.39 176.9 -21.51
Ranger Suarez 168.11 188.6 -20.49
Gleyber Torres 191.56 211.1 -19.54
Jeremy Pena 126.94 146.3 -19.36
Michael King 143.5 162.5 -19

Injuries and not making the roster are impacting the other side of this equation.  However, there are a lot of mid-range SPs that are falling, again, as these competitive leagues snag closers and high K/9 RPs in these rounds, the middling SPs will fall from their early draft highs.

That’s a wrap!  Happy final drafts, and may your closers and hamate bones all survive the next two days.

Devin Williams went as early as 52 (ECFBL) yesterday and as late as 121 (RCL 30).
Mason Miller: 27 & 67.
Ryan Helsley: 74 & 141.
Raisel Iglesias: 78 & 150.
Jeff Hoffman: 78 & 150.
Carlos Estevez: 84 & 158.
Ryan Walker: 83 & 212.
Trevor Megill: 87 & 159.
Pete Fairbanks: 80 & 193.
Josh Hader: 79 & 156.

Obviously the ECFBL knows how to play, always having a top 5 League Competitive Index, but I just can’t be drafting closers early. And before you say that explains my lack of success, there are a lot of other reasons.
