I hope everyone has recovered from their Labor Day festivities. The unofficial end of summer means we’re into the nitty gritty of Razzball Commenter League action. My weekend was loaded up with fantasy football drafts (thanks DT, Bobby, Blair, and the rest of the football crew for helping me cram at the last minute) but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about baseball. We certainly haven’t lost track of our RCLs, in fact, this is the point where we’re pulling out all the stops to scrape up every last point we can manage. Some of us are currently losing points like a sieve as we have a tie atop the Master Standings after a certain RCL host lost a few points. That’s bad news for yours truly over here. We’ll go over the top ten and the rest of the week that was week 22 below:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
There were absolutely no changes in the standings this week as the ‘Perts League held firm. I managed to extend my league lead by a smidge, taking on 2.5 points as Son added one. Malamoney added the most points this week with three despite not leading the league in any stat category. Coolwhip managed the inverse, losing the most points this week (three) while leading the league in home runs (17).
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
It’s another weird Cutline this week with the top nine from the Championship Tier plus, Joseph Bond from the Wildcard Tier moving onto the third Cutline round. That means the leader of the entire regular season, Clark Olson hit the bubble and is relegated to the Wild Card portion of round 3. Here, he’ll have to battle with Coolwhip and many others for a shot at returning for the next round. Tough break for a great season from Clark.

For those too lazy to check the MASTER STANDINGS, I present to you, the current top 10

10 | Jersey Pine 5 | Crab Army | 102.2 | 101.5 | 101 | 101.4 |
With my DFSers team losing points like nobody’s business, there is now a dead tie at the top between Wake and myself, all knotted at 113.5 as Wake hit 118 league points…I really need some RCL 6ers to pick up the pace here. My Perts league team added some points this week, but remains comfortably out of the top two, in third for another week.
Fred Garvin MP shoots up the standings this week, from eighth to fourth, pushing AllRice and stechsjj down to fifth and sixth, respectively.
Young Guns continues their ascent up the standings, moving from eleventh to seventh this week, we’ll have more on them in a bit. That jump squeezed the Stl Squat Cobblers to eighth.
Rounding us out are the two teams from Crab Army, Asynda Boil & Jersey Pine 5. Asynda falls from sixth to ninth this week and JP5 holds tight in tenth.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Young Guns
League: RCL 2022 (#26)
Stats: AVG: .279, R: 50, HR: 20, RBI: 44, SB: 8
IP: 58.2, ERA: 2.61, WHIP: 1.159, K: 60, W: 6, SV: 5
Summary: As previously mentioned, Young Guns have been climbing the Master Standings for multiple weeks now and have finally cracked the top ten overall. Congrats to the Young Guns on the accomplishment and for hitting TOW honors three times. Week 18 most recently and VinWins informed me Young Guns used to be tberkman back in week 2 when they won TOW then. Not too shabby. Aaron Judge and Tyler O’Neill paced the offense with a combined 7 HRs and 3 SBs while Frankie Montas finally had a decent pitching week! Nice work, Young Guns, for the third time this year!
