They call Draft fantasy for the people, and why not? It’s easy as Sunday morning. Sign up at Draft.com, do a quick snake draft of 3, 4, 6 or 10 players, and get a piece of the payouts. Here at Razzball, we recommend using Value-Based Drafting (VBD) to make the most of your roster. Using Rudy’s tools, you can easily sort values and take the projected points for the final player drafted at each position (P, IF, OF) and subtracting from all the players at that position, then re-ranking based on VBD. In other words: Razzball will give you the inside knowledge you need to dominate your DFS opponents.

It’s days like today, when the stable is full of studs, that I’m reminded of one of the great spy movies Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: “It’s just enough glitter amongst the chickenfeed.” The slate is full of amazing pitchers with warts that create risk. Chris Sale is pitching in Texas, where popups can go for homers. Noah Syndergaard is facing the Rockies, who hit a combined .941 OPS against him. The Ohtani train is still on time, but has hit a few bumps in the road. Even Verlander has had trouble with several of the Diamondbacks. That’s not to say any of these guys couldn’t have a good game, but the man to grab is Max Scherzer. Scherzer is facing the Phillies, who hit him to the tune of a .520 OPS. Mad Max is burning down Fury Road, going 5-0 in his last five starts with 48 Ks in 34 innings. He also gets to pitch at home in Washington, where he is 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA.

It’s days like today, when there appears to be only one ace and then all the rest, that Razzball can give you a clear edge over the competition. Hiding behind the giant shadow of Gerrit Cole lurks a man striking out the world and leading one of the surprising teams of the year.  J.A. Happ is a monster right now, leading the league in K/9 with a mark of 12.7. He and his 14-11 Toronto Blue Jays get to face the last-place Texas Rangers today. It doesn’t hurt that current Rangers hit Happ to the woeful tune of a .473 OPS. After these two pitchers, it’s a significant drop-off, but the edge of grabbing J.A. Happ a pick or two after Cole is enough to bring home the bacon. Now on to some more Draft.com recommendations for today.

You may have experienced a little something called postponed Major League games.  And when you’re working with a small roster and every decision is vital,  the weather can be a death knell for your fantasy hopes and dreams. With that in mind, welcome to park known as Chase Field and climb on the thrill ride known as Patrick Corbin. He is tearing up the league in the early going, averaging close to 7 innings per start with 12 K/9 and a mind blowing .695 WHIP.  He is the undisputed king of starting pitchers right now and he gets the lowly Padres at his climate-controlled home in Arizona.  Corey Kluber is a great choice as well, but he’s playing in the bandbox of Baltimore.  Patrick Corbin is the 4th-ranked pitcher today on Draft, so target him in the first round or with the first pick in the second.

There are a number of great pitchers today, but no better than Chris Sale.  He’s in top form to start the season and his numbers against the Orioles with Boston are vintage 2000 Pedro Martinez: 3-0, 2.05 ERA, .73 WHIP, 33 strikeouts in 22 Innings.  Many will be on the Ohtani train, and why not?  Close to perfect games pitching, hitting homers off Kluber, he’s incredible.  You’ve got Kershaw in a home start where he’s nails on any given day.  You won’t be hurt with Syndergaard either, Thor is mighty, but he’s slightly more risky as he is coming off injury last year.  Despite stiff competition Chris Sale is the number one guy today and will give you an edge.  If you are playing a three person draft you can probably wait to draft Sale with the last pick and still get the best match-up of the day.  In larger drafts you can still grab Sale later than Ohtani and Kershaw potentially.  Here are a few more early, middle, and late picks to use:
