Week twenty has come and gone, a week that always seems to mark a turning point in the RCLs for me.  We’re out of the teens and into the twenties, with only a handful of weeks remaining.  My eyeballs really turn to those innings pitched limits right about now, as I try to make sure all of my teams are above 1,000 IP so I don’t need to stream anything that walks the final week of the season.  This is also the time of year where I start to loosen up my requirements for holding players a bit.  Fourth outfielders that I would typically keep, may get dumped to waivers in favor of someone with a better match-up or an actual match-up if that fourth outfielder has an off day.  I’m looking at all those Claims Remaining some of my teams have right about now and thinking, “I can’t take those with me”.  The race is on for counting stats and you can bet your Cheetos, the top RCL teams will be using every move available to them.

# MLB Starting Lineups For Sun 5/18
ARI | ATH | ATL | BAL | BOS | CHC | CHW | CIN | CLE | COL | DET | HOU | KC | LAA | LAD | MIA | MIL | MIN | NYM | NYY | PHI | PIT | SD | SEA | SF | STL | TB | TEX | TOR | WSH | OAK
What's up, everybody? I've got a big list of players because Fanduel has a big all-day (15 games) and main (14 games) slate. As always, check lineups with Rudy's tools or your favorite lineup site (not including MLB The Show). It looks like a great hitter slate today, so you mega-event players should let your optimizers run wild and you single-event players will likely want to focus on Athletics, Rays, Marlins, and Angels lineups. No, huh? Melky? Orlando? Daniel? Former professional pitcher for the Rockies, Edwar Cabrera? Okay, I'm hearing Edward Cabrera is the newest Cabrera. In sixty years, my brain is going to be inside a robot, and Greybot 5000 is going to be like, "Streamonator was made by a human, but is not incorrect when it lists all starters for tomorrow as Cabreras, due to the Law of 2081 that stated only Cabreras can play baseball. That's what happens when you make a Robot Ump commissioner, and let Robot Umps kill players who argue with them." You see what happens when Robot Umps are implemented? I'm from the future and you must stop them! Any hoo! I told you to grab Edward Cabrera in the Buy column, because my Marlins' contact said he'd be up soon, and would you look at that. Cabrera is set to start on Wednesday, bringing with him -- 14.7 K/9 (Zoinks), 5.8 BB/9 (Yikes). As Prospect Itch said, "Edward Cabrera is something of a supersized Sixto with more strikeouts but less command. Huge upside with upper 90s heat. That I like to imagine hitting Grey in the melon." Okay, not cool! I'd grab Cabrera in any league where you're looking for some rookie nookie. Though, he could absolutely lead to roofies. Anyway, here's what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
It's back-to-school week! Do we have any students out there reading this, or is it all just all people who last updated their phones when Bell Northern went AWOL? Still can't believe the price I used to get on long distance. With each passing week, we're watching a couple more pitchers fall to the injury, so let's try and focus on finding some replacements for the arms that just hit the IL.

Well folks, Monday's have definitely been interesting at times but I don't think we have seen a woof level like this slate in quite a while. 6 game main slate today and the options are dicey at best. Pitching looks like land mines everywhere you step so tread carefully today and do your homework. When diving into pitching today the only guy on the slate that's going to provide you with the strikeouts and innings you need is Lance Lynn ($10,100). Lynn is one of a handful of pitchers I think that can safely navigate this Blue Jay lineup and after his 1st ejection of his MLB career in his last start, he's probably eager to get back out there. Lynn is an absolute bulldog out there and although he is the obvious chalk today I don't see anyone else worthy of deviating from the plan here. New to FanDuel? That's me talking to myself while watching Lars Nootbaar with a game-saving catch for Alex Reyes and the Cards, and securing the win for Adam Wainwright (8 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, zero walks, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.10). Adam Wainwright has a 3.10-ish ERA across the past two seasons. Suddenly, every MLB hitter vs. Wainwright is Carlos Beltran. After the game, Wainwright said, “I would’ve thrown a complete game but I remembered we paid a cab driver $2500 to take Lane Thomas to Washington, and I thought that it was really clever how we paid the cabbie, so I was reading a Wiki-How to sign up for Venmo during the 9th, i.e., I was distracted.” Fair enough, Wainwright! He honestly doesn't need to do much more. Outside of Zack Wheeler, I don't think anyone is throwing 200 IP this year, but Wainwright is actually in the conversation at 162 2/3 IP. On the Player Rater, he's in the hunt for a top 15 starter season, and, excuse me, while I kick myself in the shins. That's exactly the type of bargain-basement draft pick that makes all the difference in deep leagues. People (yours truly, included) out there chasing upside, and Wainwright chaperoning fantasy teams to first place, and putting the prom in promised land. Anyway, here's what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Welcome back to another week of two-start pitchers sports fans. There were not any No-Hitters in the MLB last week. However, there was one in the Little League World Series from a kid named Eli Jones. Jones also managed to tally the only RBI in his No-Hitter, so that was pretty cool to see. In the MLB Aaron Nola took a perfect game into the 7th until a costly error spiraled the Phillies' day out of control. I've been critical of Nola but he looked unhittable up until his last pitch in that game. Lastly, The Braves, Yankees, and Dodgers are all on fire, much like everyone thought they would be all season long. So, it would seem that the cards are starting to fall in the direction the oddsmakers said they would at season's start. Moving onto injury news. There's not a lot this week but nonetheless, you will know about it. Noah Syndergaard threw two batting practice sessions last week, his timetable is still undetermined. Yu Darvish threw a bullpen session last week and could return to the rotation this week. Sadly, Chris Bassitt will undergo surgery on his face after taking that nasty line drive off his cheek last week. Jose Urquidy will rejoin the Astros rotation on September 1st when rosters expand. Kenta Maeda left his last start with forearm tightness, still awaiting test results. Lastly, Anthony DeSclafani hit the IL with ankle inflammation. That's the news lets get to the two start pitchers this week.
As history tells us, Vlad the Impaler was quite the refined Wallachian (the more you know) gentlemen, a national hero of Romania, and was also portrayed by Leslie Nielson in the documentary "Dracula, Dead and Loving It!" Okay, so it wasn't a completely accurate historical piece, except for the many enemas (hmmmm), but who's to say anything else about good ole Vlad is true or not? And before we go off the deep end (aka Wiki rabbit-hole), I think it's better to get the obvious title tie-in with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., aka Vlad the II, and Vlad the Impaler, aka Vlad the III, and now I've realized this is all way too much work. Just know this! Vlad the II, the one playing baseball right now, we need to talk about him. That's it, that's my intro. God this season feels so long...
In many fantasy baseball leagues, the season is winding down. The difference between making the playoffs and sitting on the sideline is going to be between which players are hot and which players are not. As I have been doing the past month with the second baseman and shortstop rankings, I am going to highlight the players you may have a chance of adding from the waiver wire. We all know Marcus Semien and Ozzie Albies are awesome. Chris Taylor, Max Muncy, and Jose Altuve are all having great seasons as well. But we all that, and all five of those players aren't sitting around on the waiver wire.
We went with a weird strategy last week, and it worked pretty well. There's obviously going to be some stinkers when you throw out 20 guys, but it's a strategy that I'm going to continue to use if the situation arises. It was simply a week with too many choices, but we're back to normal here. What's crazy is that we have only six weeks remaining in the fantasy season, and it makes streamers as important as ever. That has me motivated to hook you guys up with some gems, so let's get into it!
When I first glanced at today's slate I went straight to the Red Sox to start cherry-picking. Then I checked the weather and with a 22 mph wind blowing in and a good chance of rain, tossed that plan out the window. Now it has been postponed. But before we go any further let's talk about pitching options. Vladimir Gutierrez, $8700  going against the Marlins is my #1 choice. In his last 5 games, 31.7 innings with 28k's and 1.99 ERA, 1.17 WHIP.  Let's get into the rest of the day's plays. New to FanDuel? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond?
