In our 44th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open with banter on the new Statcast bat tracking metrics (Batcast?) before discussing the latest moves and news including new injuries plus prospect debuts. Then we analyze highly rostered hitters that have been dreadful to start the season. Is it time to move on from them? You can […]

This is from the Wikipedia entry for former Brewers’ manager, Harvey Kuenn: That made me howl. “Otherwise respectable” is so funny there. “Kuenn was fired as manager with an otherwise respectable 87-75 record in 1983. Make sure you put in ‘otherwise respectable.’” That’s the Ghost of Harvey Kuenn dictating to a Wikipedia editor, who he […]

Dodgers SS Austin Gauthier (25, AAA) is off to a hot start at a new level, slashing .360/.467/.600 with one homer and a steal alongside five walks and five strikeouts in seven games. With all the call-ups and breakouts, it really makes me want to experiment next year by only focusing on the first ten rounds of offense, grabbing a starter, and a million relievers, and then just streaming/grabbing prospects to fill out my roster.  Paul Skenes is the latest in awesome call-ups.  Undrafted in every RCL, he […]
