Chris Sale (7 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 2.79) is a Hall of Famer. Yes or no? Don’t think about it. No googling. Say your peace out loud so only you can hear it. What did you say? Please, blog, may I have some more?
The 2024 Major League Baseball season is about 13 weeks old (almost halfway done already!), which means we finally have meaningful numbers that count to start evaluating our fantasy squads. With only 27 weeks in the fantasy baseball season, even a few weeks of information should help guide us to decisions about who deserves a valuable roster spot on our teams and who deserves the bench or deserves to be cut. What is up party people? This isn't the first time I've talked up Alec Burleson and all he's done is keep up his breakout season. He's now up to batting .285 with 12 home runs and is about to surpass last year's point totals and we're not even in July. There is no reason he should be available at this point in the season because he is not showing any signs of slowing down. If anything, it looks like he's heating up with 7 home runs in his last 30 games. Even better he has let loose on the base paths. Speed wasn't a part of his game in the minors so this may just be a blip but it's nice to know the potential is there. There is still a small window here but it is rapidly slamming shut.
In our 50th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open by discussing the latest and greatest transactions and moves including a injuries to Fernando Tatis Jr. and Clayton Kershaw along with some exciting call-ups. Maybe I’m jhuvenile but Jhonkensy Noel has me jhonking my nose in laughter. Jhonkensy? I ain’t Jhonkensy ’round these parts since the tennis courts closed in 2018. Excuse me, sir, my Jhonda’s jhorn stopped Jhonkensy’ing, and I am a very aggressive driver so I really need my jhorn to Jhonkensy. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Giants RHP Hayden Birdsong will make his debut for the arm-starved Giants today against the Cubs. He’s pitched well since being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 draft, leaning into a high-velocity fastball to rack up the strikeouts: 75 K’s in 57.1 innings across two levels this year. At 6’4” 215 lbs with that heater playing well atop the zone, he fits the archetype for our times. He may not pitch deep into his starts, but he’s going to try and strike out every single batter with high heat and buried breaking balls as long as he’s out there.
We’ve been trying to find a middle ground between stacks and no stacks. Tonight feels like a prime opportunity for a Braves stack against the Cardinals. We may be going in a little blind, as there will be a double-header today, so some guys might get the second game off. Please, blog, may I have some more?
[rubbing the plush purple belly of Grimace for good luck] May my dreams that have not yet been realized — like becoming a billionaire and winning my fantasy league, not in that order — come true. “Hello, boys and five girls!” Please, blog, may I have some more?

Thirteen weeks down, lucky number thirteen. Fitting then that we will open today by talking about “win luck”. Now, Rudy will tell you that Wins are actually predictable as shown by his Ombotsman. While the data and the bots may tell you this, as a human, it still seems like they are luck-based, do they not? Please, blog, may I have some more?
I audibly gasped when I opened up the DraftKings app tonight to start prepping for Tuesday’s slate. We don’t see too many million dollar contests for MLB DFS, but Tuesday’s 12 game slate will mark one of the only such contests this year. Please, blog, may I have some more?
