What is up party people? Fantasy football may have kicked off but there are still fantasy baseball championships to be won, so focus up. Well, I suppose that if you’re here you’re already focused. And for that, I appreciate you. It’s been a thrilling game so far but that’s nothing compared to the thrill of taking home a championship trophy in fantasy baseball. One of the best and worst things about fantasy baseball is the length of the season. It’s a grind, plain and simple. Games happen everyday so there is so much more to analyse and (over)react to.

So if you’re still with me, I applaud you. You’ve put in the work and made it this far. The finish line is in sight and you can almost taste it. Time to bring it home and these guys are here to help.

Salvador Perez has been an absolute force at the plate lately. Well, actually he’s been great all season. Blasting 42 hoe runs will do that for ya in points leagues. Did I mention that he’s a catcher? As if that wasn’t enough the rest of his numbers have been pretty good as well. Let hi take you home and I would love nothing more than for the MLB home run leaders to be a pitcher and a catcher.

Juan Soto won’t let Sal have all the fun as Sexy Dr Pepper is running neck in neck over the past two weeks. He may be the first player in the history of time to use the home run derby to fix his swing.

Tommy Edman is probably the greatest player in the history of ever. Oh ok, maybe not in the history of ever, but he’s been pretty darn good for fantasy. I have an irrational love for Edman and right now he’s making that love look real good. The points have been great and the multi position eligibility is even better. you love having a guy like him on your team because you can slot him in where you need and open up another streaming spot.

Cedric Mullins took the job in the spring and he has run with it. He’s got a strong case for the steal of draft season. He came out of the gates hot and just has refused to cool off. He’s a stud at this point.

Bobby Dalbec is actually out there for the taking in quite a few leagues. He’s been molten lava hot and I want in. Even with the threat of a Kyle Schwarber platoon, his hot bat will keep him in the lineup. Looking at his recent games, he’s been playing almost everyday. That doesn’t look like a platoon to me. Scoop him for your championship run.

Frank Schwindel wants you to scoop him. He’s been too good for you to leave kicking around on the wire for someone else to plug and play against you. You love the points he’s been giving you. Over his last seven games he’s batting over .400  with 3 dongs and for the season he’s sitting at .327 with 11 bombs. At this point (150 ABs) I think we’ve seen enough to know that he can hang in the show.Ian Happ has found another gear with a million home runs in the past couple weeks. He’s seeing the ball incredibly well right now as evidenced by his .365 average. He struggled for much of the season but he’s showing out when it counts for your fantasy team.

Josh Bell is one of those guys that is more valuable in points leagues. He knows how to work the count and take a walk which is just as valuable as a hit. He’s also putting the ball in play with a two week average close to .300.

Lane Thomas is a newcomer to DC but he seems to be settling right in. Getting consistent at bats will do that, but it’s great to see him take advantage. He profiles as more of a speed guy, although he has flashed some pop recently. In any case, he’s putting up strong enough numbers to at least kick the tires.
