Happy Father’s Day to all Yu dads out there and all Yu dads that don’t know Yu are a dad. Today’s article is being brought to you by Yu Darvish ($23,400). Darvish is not the best pitcher on the board today however he comes in $2,600 cheaper than Robbie Ray. If you can afford to put Ray in your lineups today go ahead and do so. Alright, Darvish takes the mound against a struggling Mariners offense. My confidence in Darvish really stems from his outing earlier this week. He looked flawless against the Astros which is arguably the best offense if you take away the park factor. He’s going to need more than 4 k’s today if he’s going to meet his value. My only concern is that Yu is pitching at home where he sports at 3.30 ERA. DFSBot has Darvish as the 3rd best pitcher today and is projected 6.6 k’s. There have only been 2 out of 14 starts where he didn’t make it to 6 innings this season. Darvish is extremely conservative with his pitches which is why he’s successful on the mound. Get him in your lineups today and hopefully he logs 7+ k’s today.

Jameson Taillon, SP: $16,000 – It’s hard to go against the Cubs, especially when their leadoff hitter has been crushing the ball. Taillon looked great in first game back against the Rockies. He also handled the Cubs earlier this season. This is an opportunity to take advantage of Taillon’s low price before it gets jacked up.
Robbie Ray, SP: $26,000 – If you can afford him get him in your lineup. He has the highest upside going against a stagnant Phillies offense. The pitching slate is not very appealing today and is mixed with a bunch of high projected run totals today.
Jacob Faria, SP: $15,600 – Faria is making his 3rd start of the season against a pretty good Tigers offense. Faria mowed down a hot Blue Jays lineup earlier this week and I think his stuff will be good enough to shock the Tigers. In the minors this guy was a K machine and it appears to be transferring into the big leagues as he’s sporting a 9.24 k/9 in his first 2 starts.
Nolan Arenado, SP: $10,800 – Take your pick Arenado or Charlie Blackmon for $10,800 today. Both of these guys crush lefties.
Jose Abreu, IF: $8,100 – Great price and a great matchup today for Abreu. Abreu has hit safely in his last 6 games including 1 home run. He faces LHP J.A. Happ in the hitter friendly Rogers Centre.
Lucas Duda, IF: $6,600 – Duda has not been great as of late and his price reflects that. Duda has a legit chance to take Joe Ross deep today. Ross struggles to get lefties out. This is a great buy low guy with home run upside today.
Justin Bour, IF: $8,800 – Boy do I like this matchup for Bour today. Bour already has two homers off Folty. Folty struggles against left handed batters, so this is the perfect storm for Bour in the hitter friendly park.
Brandon Belt, IF/OF: $8,700 – Attention shoppers we have a bargain for you on aisle 5. Belt’s price of $8,700 is a steal in Coors. Put him in your lineup. Do it. Do it.
Mark Trumbo, OF: $7,200 – Things have not been going the way Trumbo had hoped this season. We know the power is there but he has not been able to get it going. Last night he homered off Wainwright. Vegas expects this game to be another high scoring matchup and I think Trumbo’s bat is cheap enough to take a shot on.
Cody Bellinger, IF/OF: $10,400 – If your fading the Colorado game, Bellinger makes for a great pick today as he faces an ugly Bronson Arroyo. Bellinger has been en fuego as of late and this is truly a cupcake matchup.
Joey Gallo, OF: $8,700 – Hittertron has a crush on Gallo today. Christian Bergman is a guy who shows flashes of excellence and flashes of the complete opposite. Bergman had 2 blow up games in his last 5 starts and has let up 23 runs in 25 innings. Bergman will not be protected by Safeco as he is in the hitter friendly Globe Life Park.
Jay Bruce, OF: $9,200 – The price is a bit high but for good measures. Bruce has been on a tear the past 2 weeks with 5 homers and a .511 WOBA. Joe Ross is not a fan of lefties and would be better off walking Bruce today.
Nomar Mazara, OF: $8,700 – I can’t stay away from this matchup. If you couldn’t tell, I really think Bergman will explode today.
Avisal Garcia, OF: $8,400 – I have yet to recommend Garcia this season and I see no better time than now to play him. This is another batter that hits extremely well against LHP; couple that with the fact that he’s in a hitter’s park and he is a great play today.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Hey! Hey! Early morning weather alert. The weather today may have a big impact on your lineups. Currently we have several games with over 50% rain chances at game time. Let’s keep an eye on the Dodgers vs Reds, Cardinals vs Orioles and Marlins vs Braves.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The heavy favorites in today’s game coming in at -188 favorites is the Rangers. No surprise there as we Darvish behind the bump. The other favorite on the day is Kenta Maeda however I would not touch him today given this is his first start in a few weeks. Vegas is projecting a lot of high scoring games today. I’ll list the games that have o/u of 10 or higher, Yankees vs Athletics, Dodgers vs Reds, Cardinals vs Orioles, Indians vs Twins, Rangers vs. Mariners and Giants vs Rockies.
