Don’t look now, but we have 1 month and 10 days left of regular season baseball. What a scary thought! I’m sorry for ruining your Sunday brunch. I’ll turn your attention to my prized possession today, Brad Peacock. I think he has the best matchup today against the Athletics at home. He’s faced the A’s twice already this year posting a 2.19 ERA with 18 k’s in 12 innings. It’s looking to be another high strikeout day for Lord Peacock. He has struggled in his last 3 starts which I’m hoping might lead to lower ownership. I think what makes Peacock a great play today is his price at $17,700. He really allows you to pay up for some bats today.

Dinelson Lamet, SP: $16,000– Lamet is a high strikeout option at a reasonable price today. He gets a Nationals lineup without Bryce Harper to worry about. He also gets the start in the pitcher friendly park. His home/away splits are a positive with a 3.75 ERA. Picking up a win might be difficult going against Gio Gonzalez.

Gio Gonzalez, SP: $23,400 – Gio has been one of the most consistent pitchers all season when it comes to limiting runs. Out of all the top dollar guys today I trust him the most. He gets the opportunity to go against a young and weak Padres lineup.

Didi Gregorius, IF: $8,000 – Didi has been homerless in his last 10 at bats and has a great opportunity to go yard today. He draws a favorable matchup against Rick Porcello who has given up more home runs to lefties than he has righties this season. I would look to stack the lefty bats in the Yankees lineup today.

Mitch Moreland, IF: $6,900 – I’ll turn your attention back to the Yankees vs. Sox game for one more recommendation. Mitch has 4 home runs in 20 at bats against Sonny Gray. Mitch is a great salary dump player with high upside.

Joey Votto, IF: $9,900 –  The more I look at this matchup the more I question why I picked up Sean Newcomb to stream in my season long today. The Red’s have dominated lefties this season and the fact that they get one in a hitter friendly park is scary. Votto has 5 home runs this month and can easily make it 7 today. I will likely be focusing on Red’s stacks today including Eugenio Suarez.

Chris Davis, IF: $7,800 –  DFSBot points to Chris Davis with the highest chance of going yard today. He’s been ice cold with 1 home run in the month August. I think he is worth a flyer at this price point.

Adam Duvall, OF: $8,800 – Duvall has 4 homers in his last 10 games and is going up against a rookie lefty. Duvall has fared well against LHP this season and seems to be riding a hot streak. He has the luxury of playing in the hitter friendly park today.

Domingo Santana, oF: $8,400 –  When you can get reasonably priced power bats in Colorado you have to jump on them. Santana has 20 home runs on the year and gets a favorable matchup today.

Giancarlo Stanton, OF: $9,900 – Stanton has been red hot post All-Star break. It’s a little surprising his price tag is still under $10k. Stanton goes up against DeGrom who he already has 3 home runs against lifetime. I think if you’re going to spend up for a guy today, Stanton is that man.

Joey Gallo, OF: $8,000 –  Gallo has been an absolute menace in August with 10 home runs. I like his matchup today against Gonzalez.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

I don’t see any trouble with the weather today.

Doing Lines In Vegas

There is only one favorite worth mentioning today and that is the Giants over the Phillies -235. Madbum is on the mound and has looked great since his return. The rest of the games today are going to be a little tight. Here are the games with run totals over 10 today, Brewers vs. Rockies, White Sox vs. Rangers and Athletics vs. Astros.
