What's up, Slaminators? Did you know that the RazzSlam FAAB deadline is tomorrow? I did! I know this because I've had a tab open on my computer for weeks informing me that I better not miss FAAB, "or else Grey will smoosh you." I don't know how he's going to smoosh me through the computer, but I dare you Grey! Come at me!  Speaking of, how's my RazzSlam team doing? At least good enough to get through the cutline, although my pitching has been largely decimated by injuries. Guess who my second-highest scoring pitcher is? Brady Singer. Yeesh. All of this is fine -- there's a lot of baseball left to play. Let's see if we can find anybody to add to your team and save your fantasy dreams:
Ronald Acuña Jr.'s recent injury has been a significant disappointment for fantasy owners, raising concerns about his long-term placement as one of the top hitters in the game. As one of the most dynamic players in baseball, Acuña's potential to contribute across all five major fantasy categories makes his health paramount, but those knees are necessary and he is playing with fire going towards a Bryce Harper type career. This season, managing injuries and player performance has seemed more crucial than ever. This week, we explore a few hitters shifting in our rankings due to lingering injuries as we explore the top 100 hitters who can make or break your fantasy team’s success for the rest of 2024.

The 68th overall pick by the Rockies in 2021 out of Ohio, Rays LHP Joe Rock (23, AAA) is listed at 6’6” 200 lbs and looks the part of a major league innings eater. The Rays got Rock in exchange for SS Greg Jones in March of this year, and wouldn’t you know it, Rock’s enjoying his best professional season under Tampa’s tutelage. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Our fantasy teams could learn a thing or two from a large swath of lizards and geckos that use autotomy to defend themselves. Not only is it important to be prepared to shed something to protect our precious roto ratios, but there’s something to be said about the resiliency it takes to move one without an appendage, knowing that it will grow back in some form or fashion. Please, blog, may I have some more?

It's the time of week you have been waiting for - another edition of Up-and-Coming Dynasty Players. This week the spotlight falls on Houston Astros rookie Spencer Arrighetti. The right-hander is the type of player that dynasty players are always looking for - the under the radar dude who is a low risk, high reward player. Arrighetti was not drafted out of high school, so he played for TCU in 2019 where he used as a reliever for all but one of his 16 games. He then transferred to Navarro Junior College for the 2020 season that got wiped out due to Covid. In 2021 he pitched for the University of Louisiana, starting 13 of the 16 games he appeared in, and was drafted in the sixth round by Houston. The Astros did not select Arrighetti due to outstanding stats in college. What they saw was a pitcher who had raw stuff that could be unleashed with the right coaching and training. One full year after being drafted he finished the season at Double-A and led all Astros minor leaguers in strikeouts with 152 in 106.1 innings of work. Last season he split his time between Corpus Christi and Triple-A Sugar Land and started this season at Sugar Land but was recalled to the parent club after making only two starts for the Space Cowboys. Let's dive in and take a look at Arrighetti.
