Well folks, Monday’s have definitely been interesting at times but I don’t think we have seen a woof level like this slate in quite a while. 6 game main slate today and the options are dicey at best. Pitching looks like land mines everywhere you step so tread carefully today and do your homework. When diving into pitching today the only guy on the slate that’s going to provide you with the strikeouts and innings you need is Lance Lynn ($10,100). Lynn is one of a handful of pitchers I think that can safely navigate this Blue Jay lineup and after his 1st ejection of his MLB career in his last start, he’s probably eager to get back out there. Lynn is an absolute bulldog out there and although he is the obvious chalk today I don’t see anyone else worthy of deviating from the plan here.

SP- Zack Greinke ($9,200) Greinke always is a nice safe floor as he will more than likely get you the innings and will be in line for the win today against the Royals but the K’s sometimes aren’t there and the Royals did just see him last week. Greinke also pitches better away than home and this one is in Houston but I just don’t like any of the other options here as Greinke always limits baserunners and the Royals don’t have much to play for.

1B- Anthony Rizzo ($3,600) Rizzo faces a righty here in Huascar Ynoa who had a nice start last time out after a lengthy absence and didn’t look rusty at all. The difference is that was against a Marlins team that is woefully less talented than the Yankee team he will face today. I will target Ynoa here all day.

2B- Jose Altuve ($3,700) Altuve has been hitting the ball of late having multi-hit games in 3 out of his last 6 games. He always gets 5 at-bats it seems like and is comfortable at home hitting .306 with an OPS of .953.  Altuve faces Daniel Lynch who he saw on Tuesday and I got to believe the Astros will be better prepared to face him this time around. Will be looking at Astros as well today.

3B- Josh Harrison ($2,700) A nice low-cost option who mashes lefties and who isn’t getting a price jump probably due to hitting only 1 HR so far in August. Still hitting at a nice .277 avg .763 OPS in August Harrison is riding a 4 game hitting streak and is due for a big game. In a nice spot here against lefty Marco Gonzalez.

SS- Josh Rojas ($3,300) Another under-the-radar play and you get a $700 savings here from Correa who will probably get similar numbers today. Rojas faces Will Crowe who sounds like he should be acting in a movie instead of pitching today.

OF- Starling Marte ($3,900) Steady Starling will continue to be worth every penny that you spend on him. 39 steals! Woah that sure came out of nowhere right? Loving Marte here against Marco.

OF- Pavin Smith ($2,900) Going back to target the Crowster, Pavin has hit in his last 6 out of 7 games but interestingly no HR in August after hitting 4 in July. Nice spot here to get one against the Pirates.

OF- Daulton Varsho ($2,800) All right my love today for the Dbacks is complete as I got my guy Daulton Varsho in here. Still relatively low priced even after his heater this past weekend against the Rockies. 4 multi-hit games in his last 7 with 3 HR and 7 RBI’s. I’m here for it and counting on the DBacks to make me look good today.

UTIL- J.P. Crawford ($2,900) I’ve been impressed with J.P. this year as he has put together some really good at-bats lately and wears pitchers down for his teammates. He had a great at-bat yesterday in the 11th inning and a few batters later Kyle Seager hit a 3 run home run that won the game for the Mariners. I think he wears down Blackburn every time he faces him today.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Some light rain in Pittsburgh it looks like but will most likely not affect the game. Possibly a delay if that. Otherwise, games look good today.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Red Sox -1.5 -150 It’s a big line I know. Rangers just put several players on COVID IL this morning. Not much to play for here. This game could get out of hand.
