Happy Memorial Day, America-dwellers! If you're like our good-natured Canadian friend Marmos, you may not know that we 'Mericuhns celebrate veterans by crushing Coors cans during boat parades. Indeed, plural parades. Sometimes there's even brewskis in those cans, although in this economy, there's a non-zero chance we're just digging them out of the trash of Coachella. Yacht rock at it's finest!  Have a great and safe holiday, and here's my gift to you -- some help for your fantasy team!

Yesterday, Tarik Skubal (9 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, zero walks, 13 Ks, ERA at 2.49) had one of the best starts ever fo’ reals fo’ reals fo’ reals fo’ reals…fo’ reals! FO’ REALS!  As I continue to say fo’ reals in different intonations, the Fo’ Reals Police break down my door and drag me away, I’m told that I’ve become ungovernable with my fo’ reals, and the City Council meets to vote on whether they can ship me out of town because I fo’ reals’d too much, but, due to a by-law in the state constitution that says, ‘No one can be shipped out of town fo’ fo’ reals’ing too much,’ I’m allowed to stay. Please, blog, may I have some more?

There’s underwhelming weeks for two start options, and then there’s this week. Yuck. Not only are the Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies in short supply, but even the Oatmeal Raisins are lacking in quantity. (They’re also lacking in quality.) If you’re someone who comes here looking for options to chase after on the waiver wire for the upcoming week, my advice is to go ahead and take a gander at what’s on offer, but come back next week. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Aaron Judge sits atop our rankings once again, and by now, that should surprise no one. With so much talent shifting below him, it’s easy to overlook the steady dominance at the top. So before diving into all the risers and fallers, let’s take a moment to appreciate just how absurd Judge has been. According to Statcast, Judge leads the league in average exit velocity (96.7 mph), barrels (45), and hard-hit rate (62%), and none of those races are particularly close. He has produced more 110+ mph batted balls than most teams, and his expected metrics might be even more impressive. His current xwOBA (.482) would be the highest Statcast has ever recorded in a full season. This level of production simply cannot be ignored, not even in a world where a 50/50 season just concluded for Shohei Ohtani in 2024. Judge’s historic blend of power, plate discipline, and consistency keeps him locked in at number one. As we dig into this week’s Top 100 Hitters for the rest of the 2025 fantasy season, we see plenty of movement, including the return of Ronald Acuña Jr. and the continued slide of several big-name bats who just can’t find their rhythm. Dive in and enjoy the ride.

I can’t complain about the results in Week 8. Most of our starters performed well, and the hitting streamers were also solid. We’re actually going to ride one of the same hitting steamers from last week, and it’s hard to believe some of these guys are still sitting on the waiver wires with how hot they are. Earlier this week, the Rangers signed Korean high schooler Seong-Jun Kim and announced they will develop him as a two-way player. I’ve only seen the hype video the org posted, but he looks best at shortstop, then on the mound, then with the bat. I’ve noticed he’s getting added in a bunch of Fantrax leagues, but I’m probably not spending any spots on him. Feels like every FAAB run these days involves several young players I really want to add and hold for the long term, but Kim would fall into a trade-chip bucket for me because I’m not patient like that. Kim won’t join the club until January, making him something like a half-decade away from impacting our game in the categories.
If you don't currently have three or four pitchers (or more) sitting on the IL list on your fantasy baseball team, then you likely are only rostering the minimum requirement of pitchers. For everyone else, it seems like we are placing a pitcher on the IL every day. Because of that, the search for good pitching is a constant requirement if you want to field a pitching staff that even resembles a real staff.  That leads us to Logan Henderson. If you are paying attention to what is happening in fantasy baseball, then you are likely seeing teams starting to add this 23-year-old righthander to their roster. There is a reason why this is happening. Let's take a look at the young hurler for the Milwaukee Brewers.
