The first week of the season brought more closer questions and injury woes. Carlos Marmol is now owned in just 28 leagues, while Shawn Camp was being speculated on in 11 leagues yesterday, but that has already dropped to 7 today after a 2-run outing. The biggest add was definitely Miami starter Jose Fernandez, who is now owned in all 64 RCLs. Three home runs raised J.P. Arencibia’s desirability, and he is now owned in 39 leagues. Jose Valverde is expected to take over as the closer in Detroit eventually, and has been grabbed in 40 leagues.

EXPERTS: Our fearless leader finished week 1 in first place! Adam Jones, Jed Lowrie, Paul Goldschmidt, Shin-Soo Choo, and Jimmy Rollins paced a solid offense, while Jonathon Niese, Zack Greinke, Tommy Milone, and Jake Peavy helped Grey overcome the usual slow start for Yovani Gallardo on the pitching side. The defending champion, Mastersball.com Carey is right on Grey’s heels in second place. Rudy sits in 7th place with very cold bats, except for Nelson Cruz (.458/4RBI) and Ryan Braun (.400/4 RBI). Here’s hoping Braun doesn’t miss any more games.

Writers: Andrew Nordmeier is setting the pace in Razzball Elites, thanks to a strong pitching staff led by Clayton Kershaw, Felix Hernandez, and  Cliff Lee. Through 66.1 innings he has an ERA of 2.31 and 0.93 WHIP.

Trades: Jose Altuve was dealt for Mark Trumbo while Joe Nathan was acquired in exchange for two starters, Anibal Sanchez and Jeremy Hellickson in the only 2 deals of the week.
