Aybar’s headed to the DL and Rays have purchased the contract of Evan Longoria. Think once they bring him up, he’s here to stay, because there’s no reason to start the clock on him unless they’re going to play him. Unless, of course, he’s terrifically awful. Remember last year, guy by the name of Alex Gordon, yeah, he was four tires short of a used car. This year, I heart Gordon. My point, don’t expect Longoria to be the second coming of (insert religious deity of choosing). He may be great, just don’t sell nana’s broach trying to get him. In mixed leagues, I’d bid $7, in AL-only I’d bid $12 and in mixed leagues I’m dropping Franklin Guiterrez. Me and FraGu are done-zo.

Is this the league where you have Orlando Hudson as your utility infielder?

  2. Greg says:

I have Longoria, Butler, Hamilton on my bench with Braun, Dunn/Byrnes/C Lee, Adrian Gonzalez/Carlos Pena ahead of each, respestively. Its a 10 team daily league with standard pitching categories plus QS. I need pitching badly. I am open to trading anyone except Braun and Lee. What kind of pitching should I be able to get in return and with what packages? I’d throw in any of my crappy closers too, Lyon, Sherill, Soriano.

  3. If you can get a Wainwright or Burnett for a Longoria or Butler, I’d move on that too…

  4. Greg says:

just for some more info, my pitching staff is harang, felix hernandez, billigsley, rich hill, oliver perez, lincecum. plus f cordero

  5. seems like your team is pretty loaded. no reason to keep offense on the bench so i’d trade the unproven longoria and butler. also no reason to trade a crappy closer b/c you’re not desparate for pitching…

Fellas ended up with Zimm, Kouz, & Longoria at 3B….just bail on Evan?

Love to give him a shot, and Zimm’s wrist must be hurting, LOL.

Also why no pub for J. Germano? Great WHIP & park etc.

    Just wondering……

Jon — Guess I didn’t get Longoria anyway.

DP — I have Germano in an NL-only league — so far he’s been great. I’d use him in mixed leagues at home and bench him against tougher opponents on the road. He doesn’t strikeout many, which is never cause to celebrate, but in Petco — Randy Wolf is usable.
