When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the baseball bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the Coors Field, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Baseball entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of DraftKings players requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self evident: that all ballparks aren’t created equal, that the Rockies away from Coors Field struggle offensively, and that left handed pitching dominates the very lineups set forth by Walt Weiss himself. Have yourself a day Cole Hamels.

Matt Harvey, P: $10,600 – The Marlins are a train wreck right now in the clubhouse, at the plate, in the field, in the front office, and everywhere else possible. We know Harvey is one of the best there is, so I’m taking advantage of this situation.

James Shields, P: $9,800 – The Pirates have been pretty bad against right handed pitching this year and strike out quite a bit. The only issue Big Game James has had this year has been the home run ball, but spacious Petco Park should work to his advantage in this one.

Carlos Rodon, P: $5,200 – The Astros have one of the best records in baseball, yet they are one of the top targets to pitch against in baseball. Why is this? They strikeout a ton. Especially against left handed pitching. Don’t be afraid to roll out the youngster as your SP2 of the day.

Carlos Santana, C/1B: $4,200 – The Indians are on a tear offensively right now, and Santana’s second spot in the order gives him a chance to score runs, as well as drive them in. You almost have to play someone for Cleveland when they face right handed pitching, and Santana is my choice of the day. Keep an eye on his status though, as he missed yesterday’s game for personal reasons.

Joey Votto, 1B: $4,000 – Strasburg is bad right now. It’s that simple. Votto takes advantage of mistakes as well as any hitter in the majors, and Strasburg is making a lot of mistakes. Great American Ballpark is no stranger to home runs, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Reds hit several off of Stras.

Kolten Wong, 2B: $4,100 – Hitting at the top of the Cardinals order is giving him a ton of opportunities to score runs. Hitting in front of Matt Carpenter is giving him good pitches to hit. He has a lot of pop and has really been driving the ball over the last week. Wong is a very safe play with a lot of upside as well.

Trevor Plouffe, 3B: $4,100 – Plouffe has a .237 ISO against lefties this year and is just on a tear right now hitting .333 with 4 doubles and 2 home runs over his last 8 games. He has been a huge part of the success the Twins are having early this season and he has a solid match-up today.

Eric Aybar, SS: $3,400 – Aybar continues to be cheap on DraftKings. He also continues to hit lead-off for the Angels and produce from that spot. He has become one of my favorite punt plays. Aybar is another one who’s status I’d watch as he was removed from the game last night with hamstring tightness.

Ryan Braun, OF: $5,000 – Miller Park is not a good place for fly ball pitchers, and Rubby de la Rosa is as much of a fly ball pitcher as there is. Braun has been hitting the ball well recently, so don’t be surprised if he has a really strong day at the plate.

Shin-Soo Choo, OF: $4,700 – The Rangers offense has been completely revitalized, and Choo has been a big part of that. He has hit right handed pitching much better than left handers, and has hit 6 home runs off of them. He has a solid match-up at home today against right hander Steven Wright.

Matt Joyce, OF: $3,000 – Joyce is hitting .333 over his last 8 days and has hit home runs 2 days in a row now. He is on a tear and gets Anibal Sanchez who has struggled at times this year. The best part with Joyce is the high upside he provides at just a $3,000 salary.

I’m only happy when it rains

Minnesota and St. Louis are the 2 locations I would keep an eye on today for rain. If you are playing the early game, the wind is blowing out in Wrigley.

Doing lines in Vegas

The highest line of the day is the Boston/Texas game at 9. I tend to agree there, so be sure you have a piece of that game in your lineup.
