Week four in the Razzball Commenter Leagues and we’re rolling right along now. I’m hoping we’ll have Master Standings available for you later this week, so keep an out HERE for an update. Regardless of whether these standings are updated or not, Merry Band of Schmohawks is no doubt leading the way. Their 110.5 points in the super-competitive COUGS R US is a huge accomplishment in the early going. My Starfish & Coffee team might be close, but I really think the Schmohawks are running away with it at the moment. My S&C pitching is just not quite up to par. So, a well-earned shoutout ahead of the first iteration of the Master Standings and we’ll see if I’m correct later this week. That means next week will have full-blown stats and standings to update you with. In the meantime, another huge thank you to Vin for grabbing the RCL data for these posts. I actually couldn’t write this without his help.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
I’m not sure we’re ready to call Grey’s lead “commanding” just yet, but it’s definitely close. Grey gained another 1.5 points this week and inches closer to the 90s. Son kept pace though, gaining two points of his own, but still sits 7.5 back. Laura Holt made big moves this week, gaining 6.5 points, the most in the league thanks, in part, to leading the league with 10 SBs. I was the week’s biggest loser, dropping nine points despite leading the league in strikeouts. I feel like Grey last season, one step forward, two steps back. Ironically, Grey is now in the top spot, where I was last season…what was in that fruit punch at the company Christmas party?
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Yatta has taken back the top spot from Ryan Beck after a one week hiatus. Friend of the show, Smada climbs into the top ten this week and I feel like I’ve seen his name up here in the past. Again, some people seem to have this format figured out…I…do not.
It was a big week for Grey as he led the Razzslam in points this week (745) and gained the most spots in the standings (109) moving the boss man up to 31st overall. Nice work, boss!
TOP TEAMS
Again, these are our teams with over 100 league points, which is all we have to go on until the Master Standings arrive. We’re up to seven teams breaking the 100 mark, no easy feat and they all deserve kudos.
TEAM | LEAGUE | PTS |
---|---|---|
Merry Band of Schmohawks | COUGS R US | 110.5 |
Swing Away | RCL 3 | 104 |
Wake – N – Rake | RCL 12 | 103.5 |

Beefstu | RCL 34 | 101 |
chronosaurus | RCL 31 | 100 |

Vin also has compiled the top ten in each category thus far. This is where my S&C stands a chance to compete with the Schmohawks in the Master Standings as that team is currently leading the RCLs in HRs and RBIs. Vin also pointed out I’m currently top ten in batting average. This team appears to be a triple crown threat!
To go along with this, Vin has his team of the month calculations where I have *just* edged out the Schmohawks.
Thanks again to Vin for all his work here…not just because it shines a lovely spotlight on one of my squads.

RCLers got busy this week, completing ten total trades. Vin threatened us last week with a trade where he gave away Juan Soto and I don’t know…it’s not so bad. Neither of these guys looks great to be honest. Burnes looked OK vs the Angels and Soto at least managed a homer in the Mexico City Little League field.
Burnes was also moved with Mookie for Judge and Lodolo. Hard saying which side I like better there, but I think I lean Judge/Lodolo.
I need to know what Carlos Correa (or, conversely, Miguel Vargas) did to Hoboknives. I feel like there’s some inside information here. Is Hoboknives a doctor and he gave Correa a physical?
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.

The only new record this week is in WHIP, but Old School Brother came within one stolen base of tying the record. Some other notes on the week from Vin:
17 teams hit over .300.
168 teams had an ERA under 3.00.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Vin 13
League: RCL 13
Stats: AVG: .278, R: 50, HR: 18, RBI: 47, SB: 11
IP: 56, ERA: 2.73, WHIP: 0.946, K: 61, W: 5, SV: 5
Summary: Vin’s teams are all over the leaderboards this week, so it’s only fitting one of them finds a spot here as Team of the Week. VIn was led by offensive superstar…Brent Rooker and his 5 HRs and 11 RBIs this week. Just like Vin drew it up! Kevin Gausman and Justin Steele led the way on the pitching side for Vin. That is actually how Vin drew it up. This team lost Jordan Walker and had a week for the ages. With Taj Bradley and Gavin Stone waiting in the wings, this team could really take off. Vin was in fifth this time last week but is now sitting pretty atop RCL 13. Keep it up, Vin!
