We’re finally wrapping up the rankings podcasts this week, as we roll through the Top 100 Starters according to the Legendary Grey Albright. That’s not all though, oh no! We start the show off with an in-depth, 15 minute breakdown of Grey’s NL-Only Tout Wars draft. The wall shalt be defended!!!! Then we move into a tier by tier breakdown of Grey’s top pitchers, hitting the high notes, but only when we squeeze our junk. But really tho… We cover 60+ pitchers in this episode, with the goal of helping you navigate through the draft. Finally, please make sure to support our sponsor by heading over to RotoWear.com and entering promo code “SAGNOF” for 20% off the highest quality t-shirts in the fantasy sports game. Any new thoughts on Hans Crouse or Alex Faedo from your FYP rankings? Any where close to your top 100?

And the same for Bubba Thompson. Your target Baddoo seems worth grabbing over Thompson

@Sport: Faedo was one of the last cuts, and Crouse is right around there too. The Top 100 is very slanted toward how I would build a dynasty team, which is bats over arms to an extreme.

Thompson is a year behind Baddoo, he could be that guy a year from now, very exciting skills. I’m sure there are many that would rank Thompson ahead of Baddoo. Me, I like the plate discipline with the additional skills. Seems like a great foundation to target IMO.

        @Ralph Lifshitz:
Well I took your advice and took on a couple fantrax teams. I like yahoo, but for dynasty, fantrax has been fun. I took two teams and one is a major rebuild. 40 man roster and my active talent is no where near competing. So I’m loading up off of your rankings. Will probably be carrying 20 prospects!

Thanks guys, I will listen shortly. Curious, is someone doing a top 100 pitchers ala JB this year?

@Ralph Lifshitz: Any idea when? Love to use those rankings. Have 3 drafts this weekend.

@tweedledee: I’m going to try and get it out this week.

  3. Randy says:

Is Juan Soto that much different than Jessie Winker? I have seem Soto listed as a guy with the upside to be a top 5 overall prospect, but Winker seems to max out in the 40s. They both have elite OBP skills, Winker has less power but is closer to majors. Are SB a potential advantage for Soto?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:
      (link)

@Randy: Depends how good you think Winker is. Soto to me is an elite middle of the order type bat. It’s the difference between a multi-time all-star vs a nice everyday hitter. Anything can happen, and Baseball is crazy, but the focus of my prospect lists is a long term dynasty context.

    Prosp Jes, nice work

Which keeper league trade do you like best? Would you do more than one?
15 team 7×7 with k and k/9, obp and slg

I give up Sale Gausman Schwarber for Bellinger Paxton Lamet

    I give Sale for Acuna

I give Sale and Gleybar for Judge and Sonny Gray

    Much appreciated

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@nightpandas: No to the first trade. Sale for Acuna I do. I’d do Sale and Gleyber for Judge and Sonny, but prefer Acuna.

    Sorry can’t listen to this…
I’m addicted to FOX Sports now!

@FrankGrimes: in minutes per day in which we are exposed to fox sports now we’re all a little bit, no matter our choice on that part.

    • @FrankGrimes:

Sorry can’t listen to Fox Sports now….

      I’m addicted to this….

(If Fox is smarter & funnier than this, more power to ’em–but I very, very, very much doubt it. Just my two cents of razz’ng a public comment here. No personal insult meant.)

@Duda Want to Build a Snowman?: Classic! There was another one, but I can’t remember. Folty was an adventure!

  7. Ralph at minute 51 (after the yucky text from Cougs): “Going back to baseball for a minute….”

Which Grey heard without comment before going back to baseball….

    1. Great Emcee’ing Ralph!

    2. HILARIOUS comment: “Going back to baseball for a minute….”

    Love the show!

Wish you all didn’t cuss (I’m a prude) but LOVE’D it!

    Funny & brainy!

    Thanks to you both!

CAN’T wait for your 100 SP list, Ralph!

    NEED THAT.

    Loved this pod’cast!

    THANK YOU

    LOVE the

    THANK YOU BOTH.

@Fanthead: Thanks man! I try and watch the swear words. LOL

      • @Ralph Lifshitz: Thanks! Sorry, I’m a prude. Can you believe prudes still exist in 2018? Me neither!

        2. Amid some other comments I wrote to Grey yesteday, I wrote (in case you missed it–lot of traffic on Razzball these days):

“1. I’ve deeply enjoyed Boy Scout* Ralph’s podcasts & the puppet version of You in those lil videos that accompany some of your texts.

“(*Boy Scout cuz he’s: a great prospector/scout. And Boy Scout cuz he’s reliable & full of good pep.)”

I suggest Boy Scout Ralph be your new nickname if you don’t find the “Boy” insulting–it’s not meant to be. Goes with your age & “Scout.”

        Peace,

        Fanthead

  8. Question:

    In my keepers’ league:

    I held onto

    Taijuan Walker
    &
    Julio Teheran
    as long-shot
    4th/5th Sps

    (after
    C. KLUBER
    V. VELASQUEZ
    Z. GREINKE
    D. CEASE + T. CHATWOOD)

    I was mult-tasking
but tried to hear every word
(& hit rewind a few times)

    As long-shot gambles
    should I feel all right
    about
    T. CHATWOOD
    TAIJUAN WALKER
    +
    JULIO TEHERAN
    ??

    any flashes
    from your
    brilliant
    baseball
    brain
    would
    be
    most kindly
    accepted!

    thank you,

    MAS

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Fanthead: I like those long shots, Bryan Mitchell is a decent one too. I’ve drafted some of AJ Cole, who might win the 5th starter job.

BUT if Jordan Montgomery is available, go get him. Feel he’s very underrated.

      • @Ralph Lifshitz:

So cool. Thanks. I noted you mentioning BRIAN MITCHELL on the podcast and wrote that down. Totally new name to me (gulp). And was already going to dig in research him and now you’ve double-downed on him. That equals: MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Under-cover guys like that are sometimes the only way to way very competitive leagues.

        Thanks,

        Fanthead

    Hey Ralph,

Great podcast, what do you think of Glasnow? Post hype sleeper with some Bauer-like issues to work out? He seems to have all the tools but hasn’t put it all together at the mlb level. Think he breaks camp? Figures things out this season?

    Thanks

Hey Ralph, love your articles and the podcast! Will you be putting out a top 25 rookies for 2018 this year? I think you did one last year and it really helped me in my prep.
