Tom Verducci of SI has posted his annual ‘Year After Effect’ post which poses that young pitchers who threw more than 30 innings last year than they had the year before as injury risks. I had reference this theory as part of my risky pitchers tests. Please, blog, may I have some more?

This was a fantasy baseball league put together by the FSWA, Fantasy Sports Writers Association. (Grey is in the FSWA and Rudy is unlicensed. After doing all the top 20 lists for hitters in our 2009 fantasy baseball rankings, we now move onto the top 20 starters. I will go more in-depth on starters and strategy on drafting starters later into the 2009 fantasy drafting season, for now I want to say one thing counter to everything I’ve said before. Last night I took part in my third mock draft over at Mock Draft Central. Going into this mock draft, I figured I’d try to draft a mock team to mock win. Pretty out there, I know. That’s how I mock roll! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Most of the rookie nookie reacharounds I’ve given out so far have been for hitters. But that doesn’t mean all 2009 fantasy baseball rookies will be hitters. Right, David Price? It’s easy to look back at a league you just lost in and come up with several ‘What ifs’ that would’ve led your team to victory.
I’m going to take a look at one of my expert league teams that sucked it – coming in 8th out of 12 in a league set up by Brock for Broglio and co-won by Tim Dierkes of RotoAuthority and Tim McLeod of Rotorob. Please, blog, may I have some more?

Two things really stood out for this 2009 fantasy baseball mock draft. 1) I was not familiar enough with the draft interface. 2) It’s November. Hey, Grey got a calendar! Awesome! Yes, the date is obvious, smart ass. I’m just pointing out the obvious because so much will change between now and January, let alone March, that it’s very difficult to evaluate this mock draft. On Monday I finished up the hitters recap with the 21 – 40 outfielders for 2008. That’s after going over the top 20 catchers, top 20 1st basemen, top 20 2nd basemen, top 20 shortstops, top 20 3rd basemen and the top 20 outfielders for 2008. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Chris Carpenter will undergo surgery on a compressed nerve in his shoulder. Word in The Bootheel is he’ll be fine for spring training. This will be something to watch in March and should be a decent-sized question mark during next year’s drafts. Please, blog, may I have some more?
