Here’s a sneak preview for all the players that we’ll either be rejoicing or damning slightly more than the average player in the daily posts. We’ve added/dropped some players since draft day (and packaged Berkman in a heavyweight trade for Sabathia) but the vast majority of these guys are at least starting the year on our teams. Please, blog, may I have some more?
48 leagues made 14,400 selections at the draft table in March. 440 different players were chosen, with 218 being selected in all leagues. Another 15 were drafted in 47 of the 48 leagues. 33 were taken in just 1 league.
Last year Albert Pujols was the first choice in 37 of the 38 leagues, but this year there was a bit more variety. Please, blog, may I have some more?

From 2008-2010, Ryan Dempster posted a 3.49 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 2.50 K:BB rate over 622 innings. He averaged 189 K’s a season during that stretch and was a great fantasy baseball contributor, i.e. he was all Henry Rowengartner.

Some analyses strike gold. Some analyses are an immediate bust. It’s the third type – the ‘fool’s gold’ type – that are the most frustrating. After three years of middling predictions, I think my ‘risky pitcher’ analysis from a couple years ago is falling into that 3rd category. Please, blog, may I have some more?
