You see that old rocking chair in the corner?¬†That’s me, mister reliable. ¬†Made of wood and literally been around these parts since the dawn of time. I may not be the smartest fella, or the fartest smeller either, but I dig baseball. ¬†I get the stats and the hub-bub surrounding the intricacies of deeper stats. ¬†Relaying them in a manner that makes sense on paper and conveying them to you in a way that makes us all put away our Casio calculator watches is my style. ¬†This report covers similarities from what I touch on the regular in my bullpen post, so for the normalcy of life, I will add some of my usual middle relief spice into the streaming world of stolen bases. ¬†Sound good, grand glad we could agree. ¬†Rostering established stolen base guys is all well and good, but is a better feeling when you stream an option and he gets one that wasn’t normally accounted for. ¬†Kinda feels like stealing, in the actually stealing sense and not just in the statistical sense. ¬†The world of streaming swipes is becoming harder and harder as stolen bases are a stat best left for the dudes hitting dingers. The more a pitcher lets players get on base with SB opportunities, the increase for SB’s grows… sometimes. This is my first attempt at this post, so I am starting it my own way. So let’s¬†look at this weeks options to stream stolen bases and the trends for which to follow for streaming ideas. ¬†Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Typically I lead every Monday with a solid Starting Pitcher pick but since today’s starters are underwhelming at best, we’re going to concentrate on some juicy stacks. Michael Pineda, or the Human Pinata, is in Coors Junior and he’s given up 7 long balls to RHB. Stack 1, Paul Goldschmidt, Welington Castillo, Jean Segura, Yamany Tomas, Brandon Drury, and Jake Lamb ( I know he’s a lefty, but he’s been raking). Manaea Mania came and went, thankfully I dropped him after his second start because he coughed up 8 ER last time out against Boston. Unfortunately Texas doesn’t have too many RHB, so this is more of a mini stack, Ian Desmond, Adrian Beltre and Ryan Rua. I’d really like to jump all over Jon Niese tonight as he’s already let up 8 HR’s to RHB. Too bad Atlanta only has Jeff Francoeur and a couple other scrubs. The final stack of the night is against the cobbler, Matt Shoemaker. Anytime this guy has taken the mound post 2014 he’s been crushed by the long ball. I’m crushing on Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Yasmani Grandal tonight. As I mentioned, the pitching isn’t ideal tonight, but there’s a few matchups that could help us cash in tonight, especially if you want to go big risk, big reward. Tonight is the debut of our new Razzball Exclusive League on DraftKings, so be sure to check it out!

Matthew Wisler threw a gem yesterday — 8 IP, 0 ER, 1 Hit, 2 Walks, 4 Ks, lowering his ERA to 3.24. ¬†Or if you like portmanteaus and/or vomit — Matthrew up a gem. ¬†By the by, after anyone says their name is Matthew, do you always want to say, “Gesundheit?” ¬†“Name for the cup?” ¬†“Matthew.” ¬†“Wow, it’s allergy season, huh?” ¬†That’s me as a barista, a job I never had. ¬†I’ve actually held one real job in my entire life. ¬†I’m like Mark Cuban without the money. ¬†Since I own Wisler¬†in more leagues than I care¬†to admit, I watched the whole game. ¬†Prolly first time I watched one of my pitchers while listening to the opposing broadcast, but you cannot beat the Mets announcers for a broadcast booth¬†or for stories about insane cocaine intake in the 80s. ¬†Wisler was dancing a 94 MPH fastball just at the knees, spinning a backdoor curve that had Neil¬†Walker look more like Neil Statue. ¬†Duda? ¬†Go take a doodie, it’d be more productive than facing Wisler! ¬†Asdrubal? ¬†Well, he actually hit the ball hard. ¬†Quite a few Mets did. ¬†It was like, “Matthew! ¬†Damn, I think I caught something,” and the Braves would look up with a ball in their glove. ¬†So, Wisler’s performance last night was a¬†gorgeous line, but I wouldn’t go near him outside of the deepest of leagues. ¬†In shallower leagues, Matthew? ¬†God bless you for last night, but I don’t need those¬†tissues. ¬†Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
If I told you this post ends our position 2016 fantasy baseball rankings, would you believe me? ¬†What if I told you it while holding your mom’s hand while calling you son, would you believe it more or less? ¬†Man, you got issues! ¬†So, yes, this is the end of our positional rankings, but I’ll be along tomorrow with a top 100 and then a top 500. ¬†That’s right, 500! ¬†Like a baller! ¬†There’s also our Steamer projections for all hitters and pitchers. ¬†All of the fantasy baseball auction values are also up for over¬†1500 players. ¬†There’s a ton of different formats located there too, like the 5×5 OBP rankings, 6×6 OBP rankings, 6×6 Holds and a ton more. ¬†All of my¬†2016 fantasy baseball rankings are there.¬† My tiers and projections are noted in this post. ¬†Anyway, here’s the top 100 starters for 2016 fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Uh no, the Yankees fell for the oldest trick in the book, mon! ¬†Starlin Castro was traded to the Yankees for middle reliever, Adam Warren. ¬†Didn’t the Yanks get the memo? ¬†Middle relievers¬†are the new cheap starters. ¬†There was an interesting development the past week. ¬†Jordan Zimmermann got ridunk money and everyone was like, “Damn, Cousin Fat Pockets needs to let out the elastic on his velcro wallet.” ¬†Then David Price got boku bucks and a Nigerian from Nigeria by the name of Boku said, “My last name is not bucks, I’m confused by this idiom.” ¬†Then Zack Greinke went for a walk in the park and came across a suitcase of $206.5 million and looked over his shoulder slowly, then looked back at the suitcase, then started putting million dollar bills into his shorts. ¬†Finally, Henderson Alvarez was non-tendered and the entire league was¬†interested, and this sounded¬†warning bells. ¬†People are interested in Henderson Alvarez?! ¬†What the eff! ¬†At that point, the smarter GMs realized they just need to make it so their starters that aren’t terrific go six innings, then their bullpens can come in. ¬†The Royals realized this two years ago, but now everyone is¬†catching on. ¬†As for Castro on the Yankees, I want to say unequivocally that this is the best landing spot for him in the majors¬†outside of¬†Coors. ¬†Castro has totally failed as a top prospect– Oh, wait, he’s only 25 years old. ¬†This was a case where the Cubs didn’t make a bad deal; they just had too much of a good thing with middle infielders, and their eyes set on Messin’ Wit’ The Zo’. ¬†Castro feels set up to have his biggest season to date, and I’m going to project him as such. ¬†For 2016, I’ll give him 72/16/77/.274/7 with room for more. ¬†As for the future at 2nd base in Robert Refsnyder, there’s always playing for the Padres in two¬†years. ¬†Anyway, here’s what else I saw this offseason for 2016 fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Things can start simply and end up a classic.¬† Or at the very least, well remembered…ok, just remembered.¬† I don’t know, it’s Beck, you view him as you see him.¬† I liked him but never thought he was going to be a superstar.¬† How does a guy win a Grammy when the first lyrics people heard from him contain, ‘With the plastic eyeballs, spray paint the vegetables, dog food stalls with the beefcake pantyhose?’ ¬†Even people tripping on acid would say he’s too far gone with that kind of writing.¬† Either way, here we are over 20 years after his break into the industry and he has some hardware on his mantle for his 12th studio album.¬† I’m sure some would say the industry was just saying ‘We didn’t get it 20 years ago’ by giving him the prize now and by ‘some’ I mean ‘Kanye.’ ¬†Regardless, we’re not here to talk about Beck but in keeping with the Grammy theme, I just won myself Best New Artist of the NFBC $150 Draft Champions league I was in.¬† Yup, you can put me up there with the big names now like Hootie & The Blowfish, Paula Cole, Esperanza Spalding…ok, maybe/hopefully this isn’t a trend as I’d love to win more than one in my currently illustrious NFBC career.¬† It was an interesting league to be a part of and I will break down how I done won it below.¬† Join me, will you? ¬†(BTW, you might know me as the DFS guy on the site. ¬†You might also know DFS is getting hit hard by people (legislators) trying to get FanDuel and DraftKings to cut states into their kitty. ¬†I’m all about putting hands in the kitty, but not this way. ¬†To offer support, fill out this petition.) ¬†Anyway,¬†here’s a recap of how I came out a champion in my 15 team NFBC league for 2015 Fantasy Baseball…Please, blog, may I have some more?
The other day I made the best purchase of my life (okay, of the last week). ¬†I bought a thermometer that has a laser beam on it. ¬†You shoot the laser on the object and it tells you its exact temperature. ¬†It’s meant–Actually, I don’t know what it’s meant for. ¬†I bought it because our oven seems to be about 100 degrees off. ¬†Though,¬†I got it five days ago and I haven’t used it for the oven once, but have measured the temperature of about twelve hundred other things. ¬†The coldest drinking water I’ve had was 49 degrees at this pizzeria around the corner from my house. ¬†Oh, yeah, I’ve been taking this out with me. ¬†I’ll go up to people on the street, shoot their temperature and be like, “You have a fever, you might want to take an aspirin.” ¬†I like to put on my flip flops when they’re between 68 to 71 degrees. ¬†Any colder and it stiffens my toes, any warmer and it raises my body temperature a full .4 degrees. ¬†I know this because I have a thermometer with a frickin laser on it! ¬†So, how does this relate to fantasy baseball? ¬†I was watching Justin Bour slug his 23rd homer yesterday, his 2nd of two homers in the game, and I shot his temperature. ¬†A blistering 109¬†degrees! ¬†Doode’s fahrenhot! ¬†Doode is straight butter that a professional hibachi chef puts on a sizzling lobster tail! ¬†Doode’s Kurt Russell in Backdraft! ¬†Yes, you should own him. ¬†In fact (Grey’s gonna say more!), you should’ve owned him for the last few months. ¬†Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
“All year. ¬†All. ¬†Year. ¬†I’ve been starting Jeff Samardzija in one 15 team league. ¬†It’s an NFBC league so I couldn’t drop him (there’s no waivers). ¬†It’s not a great league to bench starters. ¬†I had options like Colby Lewis and Adam Warren. ¬†Not great options. ¬†But, finally, yesterday, I decided enough was enough. ¬†If I was going to lose, at least I would lose with Samardzija out of my lineup. ¬†So, Samardnuts goes out and throws a one-hitter (9 IP, o ER, 1 Hit, Zero Walks, 6 Ks).” ¬†That was how I concluded the story to the doctor when I first¬†ended up in the mental asylum. ¬†Samardzija is actually easier to type while wearing a straitjacket. ¬†Coincidence? ¬†Immediately following the story, I cackled myself to sleep in a puddle of my own bodily fluids. ¬†I’m not even sure what fluid it was. ¬†I’m guessing urine, but you got me on specifics. ¬†As we know, earlier this year Oxford Dictionary replaced &@*^&*@%!¬†that connotes a curse word¬†with Samardzija, and I can think of nothing more fitting than screaming SAMARDZIJA! ¬†Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Who’s the guy who wrote up Jason Hammel the night prior only to see Dan Haren subbed in for him this morning while trying to set his season long and DFS football lineups. Two thumbs pointed back and me! Which is really hard to do when you’re typing at a rapid pace…hope you appreciate it! So we’re doing a mad scramble to find a lede and…I ain’t got one for ya, sorry. I don’t see a reason to change my analysis below and I really don’t
feel like see a reason to flesh it out fuller with a hastily written blurby-mah-bob up here. Worst part? I really went in depth on how good it would be to play Jason Hammel! Teh Phils are teh suck! But they haven’t always been. But most times they are…eh, that was a synopsis as if written by a 13 year old. You’re welcome. Anyhoo, happy first Sunday of football for the 2015 season and happy overlay in baseball for us, amirite? Exactly, so let’s get to it. So here’s my Foosball hot takes for this Sunday DK slate…

Yoenis Cespedes went 3-for-5 with his 31st homer and, like, his 12th homer in the past week. ¬†Doode’s straight combustible heat. ¬†Like a fatty steak on the grilling heat. ¬†Uh-oh, I feel my rap altar ego, B-Fire, coming on. ¬†Cannot stop the blaze. ¬†Like a Scottish¬†sheep, I can’t stand here, I gotta graze. ¬†Between Monday and Tuesday is a hidden day called Muesday, between Monday and Sunday is all Grey’s days. ¬†I watch a Merchant-Ivory period flick with my piece, because I’m strapped and going through a phase. ¬†Shh, it’s my Victorian secret. ¬†Whomp, there’s another Yoenis hit. ¬†Cepedes is¬†so on-lock¬†it’s like he’s got a hundred legs all stuck in tar pits. ¬†For my Def Poetry Jam audition tape, this I will submits. ¬†I liked About Schmidt, but why¬†Kathy Bates gotta get out of the tub naked with her flabby– Nah, I need to quit. ¬†So, on the year, Yoenis has a line of 93/31/92/.298/7 and is nearly top five for all players on our Player Rater, not just top five outfielders, and, for 2016, it’s going to be real hard to knock him down much past the 2nd round. ¬†Unless, of course, the Padres get their grubby mitts on him. ¬†Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:Please, blog, may I have some more?
