Here at Razzball we don’t believe in vetoing a fantasy baseball trade, but we do fully support passive-aggressive, sarcastic belittling.  If someone in your league completed a trade that makes you wish they’d walk into oncoming traffic, you’re in luck!   Here’s a Mad Libs-type tirade to post in your league’s messageboard because when met with pettiness, you should retaliate with more pettiness.   Simply copy the below and fill in the appropriate words.  You may use this post to antagonize your closest friends, enemies or frenemies with the express written consent of  Also, feel free to post your version in the comments.

To Those That Passed That (adjective) Trade,

When I saw the trade of (Player(s) Traded Away) for (Player(s) Received), I contemplated vetoing the trade, but even one trade veto can have a domino effect and before you know it every trade is being vetoed.  Instead, I decided to take the high road and just voice my disagreement on this message board.  Though I do sometimes question my leaguemates’ ability to read something that isn’t scribbled in crayons. On the bright side, you two (plural derogatory name) who were involved in the trade can use this post to practice your reading comprehension.   It’s not too late for that GED!

Since no one has the courtesy to respond to my trade offers, I figured you two were busy hanging out with your significant others. You know, your mothers. “No, Mom, I have friends.  The phone just rang the other day.  Now please pass the Miracle Whip.  Your chicken salad is dry.”  Or maybe you were busy making up excuses for walking in on your sister while she’s showering. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t hear the water running.”  Or maybe you two were busy (verb) each other in your (adjective) (body part).

It’s obviously your strategic prerogative to make any trades you want, as it’s my prerogative to wish you both harm. So, douchetards, I have an idea. Rather than digging through dumpsters for discarded porno mags, how about you two (plural derogatory name) get together and punch each other in the face?

The Guy Who Is Still Going To Beat Both Of You,

P.S. Anyone need a closer?

  1. Dicky says:

  2. Wilsonian says:

    Street, K-Rod, Putz, Walden, Hanrahan, Storen

    Correct ranking for the rest of the year (assuming Street stays healthy, which is a huge ASSumption)?

  3. Larry Walker circa 1997 says:

    But I really needed a closer!

  4. Rabbit says:

    I need to figure out who of the following to start this week in my 5×5 roto league that has standard cats except it’s K/9 rather than just Ks:

    D. Hudson (Phi, ChC)
    Z. Britton (Bos, @ChW)
    Dempster (@Ariz)
    E Volquez (Fla)

    Britton’s pitching the best of these guys so far this season and has two starts but I am wary of getting roofied. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  5. bogbert says:

    Great article, helpful for a beginner like me.

    Which infidel would you choose — Herrerra, Ass-D, Ian-D, Ty-Wigg, Barney. I’m shortest on HR & RBI. Thanks.

  6. lothda says:

    Anything coming out of Carlos Pena this year? He is holding down the CI in a 20 Team league. Would it be more productive to ride the hot CI on the waiver the rest of the year than to keep Pena?

  7. Tom Thumb says:

    How do you feel about Holliday + Cliffly for Ubaldo + Longoria?

  8. Hit Bull Win Steak says:

    funny very funny. I am sooo going to use that – thanks.

    When Mr. Jose Reyes is traded around the all-star break, where will he be going? (I have both Reyes and S.Castro on my team and could trade one)

    Who needs a SS? The Yankees with Jeter going to the OF?
    Reyes in that lineup would be crazy!

  9. El Famous Burrito says:

    I love it.

    Now you need to make something we can copy-and-paste when we inevitably pick up Mike Napoli from waviers.

  10. C.O.C. says:

    Would you start Corey Hart in a weekly league this week if the alternative were a guy like……say Josh Willingham? Or just wait ……..

  11. chata says:

    am rolling with dice-k , this friday , at home vs seattle (vargas) .
    seems like a no-brainer .
    which means i’ll prolly be eating shizz-pie all day saturday .

  12. Grey

    Grey says:

    @C.O.C.: I’d start Corey.

  13. AmishT says:

    Whaddya tell the guy who dropped both Derek Jeter (who was his 2nd round pick…) and Neftali Feliz?

    Also, I’m trying to figure out what i wanna do with my pitching for tonight…it’s a H2H league w/ daily roster changes; pitching categories are W, K, SV, ERA, and WHIP

    …anywhoo, I have three questionable SPs to sort out: Colby Lewis vs TOR, AJ Burnett vs CWS, and Ian Kennedy vs PHI. I was leaning to starting all 3 of ’em and go with the quantity over quality approach (my opponent for the week doesn’t have anyone throwing tonight). Is this reasonable at all, or is it so risky as to be akin to punting ERA and WHIP on the first day of the week?

  14. Deeeeeeez Nuts says:

    Grey, I’m a bit perplexed by your response to a previous inquiry regarding Cuddyer’s rank among 2B considering you had him projected for 85/20/80/.275/5. I understand he’s not a sexy option but wouldn’t that put him in top 8-10 2B territory?

  15. Grey

    Grey says:

    @AmishT: Tell him he should stop letting his 8-year-old cousin manage his team. Start all three.

  16. Richie says:

    Hey Grey,

    Chris Iannetta, Nick Hundley, or Alex Avila. Who ya got?

  17. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Deeeeeeez Nuts: Might’ve been my projections, but I also wouldn’t own him over those other guys.

  18. SwaggerJackers says:

    I made my first trade this season that made everyone in my league mad. I traded Chacin, Beckham and David Murphy for Cano. My pitching staff is garbage but I’ve got Tulo, Wright and Cano so hate on haters!

  19. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @lothda: 20 team league,i cant imagine picking someone up that will match end of year numbers with pena,he,s getting on my nerves to in a 12 teamer,but last year grey told me not to dump big pappi about this time of the year,i dropped him and it really might have cost me a chance at winning

  20. Rollie Fingers Toes says:

    Alexei Ramirez (@Burnett/Yankees) or Mike Morse (@Maholm/Pirates) as a Utility play today? (Morse has been relatively warm and Ramirez is due to break out of a funk)

  21. trick dad says:

    hey grey – ryan roberts or mark reynolds at 3b?
    ryan roberts or alex gordon at util?

  22. quimmy says:

    help! keeper league, got offered the following:

    i send:

    uggla, stanton, bourjous

    i get:

    kemp, seth smith and j.zimmerman

    do i take it?

  23. BookieBob says:

    Hello Grey,

    It’s nice to see you again. Please sit down and let’s examine your veto template.

    It seems that you are expressing a form of displaced anger. When the content or magnitude of the anger does not seem to fit the situation, you can suspect displacement.

    Displaced anger will not heal. It’s expression may give temporary relief, but will be repeated over and over without healing.

    As you and I become clear about the original source of the displaced anger, then the anger in it’s original form will heal.

    I’m here for you, my (singular noun).

  24. The Vaporizers says:

    Travis Wood or Ted Lilly

    Who you like the rest of the season?

    I have Wood (lol) and was thinking about offering him for Lillly. Should I continue to play with my Wood? Or trade for his Lilly?

  25. SP says:

    Who do you prefer going forward in 5×5?

    Verlander or Weaver?

  26. paddyman says:

    WTF is up w Hanley? .215 ops last week. Sucks to have him, dunn and mauer as guys you were hoping to not have to worry about…sheesh.

  27. Grey!!! I love your post—scathing, witty, insulting—pure comedy. I think if Daniel Tosh played fantasy he’d approve!
    “Douchetards”—I love it! I hope to add it to my arsenal.
    Thanks for the laughs.

  28. mc serch says:

    @Grey: I’ve got Gordan and Grady languishing on my bench and would like to sell high on them….need SP deperately….what caliber SP should I reasonably be expecting to get for one of these guys, possibly packaged with a junky closer like Rauch? Harang, Narveson, Pineda, Chacin, Billingsley, Romero, Sanchez?
    Thank you good sir.

  29. Wilsonian says:

    @Grey: if you could, kind sir, please rank these guys for the rest of the year:

    Street, K-Rod, Putz, Walden, Hanrahan, Storen

    Much obliged…

  30. Howard says:

    @Grey I wanted to write that to the guy who traded Alex Rios for Neftali AFTER he was injured! I guess he’ll be ok but you can never-tell-ay? Anyone need a closer?

  31. Eric says:

    Love the P.S. Anyone need a closer part?

    Hilarious Grey!

  32. Eddy says:

    So it looks my initial fears were correct:

    Brandon Wood starting at 3B today. That spot better not become a platoon because I’m way too invested in Alvarez around several leagues.

  33. Grey,

    Love the post!

    Raburn or Espinosa this week @ 2B?

  34. Calogero says:

    I use this approach for like 90% of bad trades that I hate. That way when there is one that is so egregious that it sets off an alarm in my head that it needs to be vetoed, I can post a formal veto and point to the fact that I almost NEVER veto even on bad trades, and this one has just crossed the line.

    Of course last time I did this, we fell one short of the amount needed to actually veto, and were unable to protect the rookie owner from himself.

  35. Grey,

    Hilarious post!

    Do you like Raburn or Espinosa @ 2B this week?

  36. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @mc serch: i would think with gordon being 3rd eligible in yahoo him and any of those could grab you a top 10-15 starter,pineda will have an innings cap but why would you want to loose him

  37. EDD says:

    i have the perfect league to do this, i actaully had to explain why i thought wandy for hamels should be vetoed,

  38. Danbo says:

    Is Edinson Vólquez worth holding? The guys I’m considering in his place are James Shields or Brandon Beachy.

    Also, I can own 2 out of the following 3: John Axford, Jordan Walden, Mitchell Boggs. Any advice?

  39. Nuke LaDouche says:

    Hey Grey, Hope you had a good Easter. Would you drop Volquez, Kennedy, Narv, or Beachy for Ogando? My other SPs are Gallardo, Liriano, Anderson, Marcum. It’s a 12 team keeper.

  40. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Rollie Fingers Toes: Morse

    @trick dad: Reynolds, Gordon…

    @quimmy: It’s fair… Kemp.

    @BookieBob: Ha!

    @The Vaporizers: I’d take Lilly.

    @SP: Weaver

    @paddyman: Yeah, he looks miserable. Sure it’s temp.

    @Dr. Stats: No problem, thanks!

    @mc serch: I’d take Chacin, Bills or Pineda…

    @Wilsonian: Putz, K-Rod, Street….

    @Howard: Ha

    @Eric: Thanks!

    @Eddy: I hope not, though I did just get Wood in LABR.

    @Paddy Ballgame: Thanks! Espinosa…

    @EDD: Ha

    @Danbo: I’m holding him. Walden, Axford…

    @Nuke LaDouche: Thanks, you too. I’d hold.

  41. and1mcgee says:

    free leagues suck. I want to read a post on that.

  42. alex says:

    Just traded my Jed Lowrie for his Jay Bruce and Madison Bumgarner. I made the right move accepting it right ?

  43. The Vaporizers says:

    @ alex, 100% YES

  44. OaktownSteve

    OaktownSteve says:

    Point of order: aren’t scribbled crayon messages more difficult to read than clearly worded, neatly typed prose?

    I have no requests for player rankings, fantasy team assessment or pending trade analysis but will nevertheless take my answer off the air.

  45. the bat rastard says:

    Heck General Managers make horrable trades and they get paid big bucks to screw up. Personally I would never veto a trade unless it was really obvious that it was detrimental to league on the whole, even then I would have a hard time casting a veto. I have seen people use the message board before the trade actually goes through to voice their displeasure, so that is a good idea.

    I can understand how these trades can happen though. A manager falls in love with a player and then starts thing with his U know what instead of his brain and will sell the farm to get this player. It becomes an obsession…over-riding every bit of common sense…sound familiar. maybe you can recomend a cold shower before each trade…cust sayin.

  46. Mr2Bits says:

    Grey : This trade sound fair in a keeper’s league using OBP and QS?

    I give up Youk(16 round keeper) and get Verlander(17 round keeper)?

    I already have ARam and Bautista for 3rd and Berkman/Lind/Kendrick for 1st?

  47. SwaggerJackers says:

    @Grey: Please rank these SPs in a league with QS and K/BB instead of W:

    Anibal, DLR, Dumpster, Ogando, Harrang, McCarthy, Beachy

  48. Captain Yesterday says:

    Should I roll with Alvarez at 3rd this week knowing he won’t start at least tonight in a 14-team weekly h2h points league, or should I pick up an option like Peralta, Betemit, Ryan Roberts, Casey Blake, S-Rod or Hannahan? Would be dropping Trumbo off bench if I make a move. Thanks…

  49. brad says:

    @Grey: Should I take David Wright and Lowrie for Ryan Zimmerman and Ogando? 20 team H2H league with 8 keepers. OBP is also a stat and my pitching staff isn’t real strong.

  50. 3FingersBrown says:

    @Grey: Anibal, Myers or Erv Santana?

  51. Mr2Bits says:

    Grey/All : ARam for Beckett, which side do you like better and why?

  52. Alex says:

    great timing with this piece! some douchetard in my league just traded Dunn away for Arroyo and a high pick in next year’s draft. very appropriate letter.

    on another note – quick trade question…

    very strong in offense, very weak in saves…

    Hunter / Kendrick for Putz / Lowrie a solid deal or should i be scared of Lowrie’s playing time?

    thanks grey!

  53. brad says:

    @Grey continued: Other considerations, I have Utley and Brian Roberts at second and my shortstop is Alcides. Our benches are deep and there are basically no starters I can pick up to replace Ogando.

  54. Josh says:

    Do you do this trade H2H league
    Mauer and Floyd for Billingsley and Marcum??

  55. Josh says:

    I have Wieters starting

  56. Alvarez sitting tonight rather than face awesome Nat lefty Lannan. Taking off the “Vote for…” shirt for the evening. Was hoping to deal Big Puma when Longoria comes back; but having second thoughts. Lance should run out of gas at about the same time Pedro starts being the productive 1B/3B that we drafted, no?

  57. Black Beard says:

    Please pick 3 for the week:

    Narveson (CIN, @HOU), Liriano (TB, @KC), Romero (@NYY), Tim Hudson (STL), de la Rosa (@CHC), Harang (ATL), and Lackey (SEA).

  58. JoeC says:

    Grey, first question in a long while. Would you drop Hafner or Snider in order to pick up Sands? I know you don’t like Hafner, but he is hitting .348 (and BA happens to be one of my problem areas).

    Snider has been kinda horrible (but thanks for the 5 steals!), but he gets to play at Yankee stadium and Texas this week, so it might be a good chance for him to break out of his home run (and hitting, really) slump.

    All that said, Sands seems like the most talented of the bunch, but that just may be my overdeveloped sense of rookie-love. What say you?

    Note: This is a 13-team, 5×5 roto league.

  59. Bermuda Triangles says:

    Hi Grey

    Always love the protest vs veto article!

    Weekly HTH: Would you play Ryan Roberts (7games) over either Chris Coghlan (6gms) or Peter Bourjos (6gms)?

    Team is based on power more than anything else (A-Rod, Howard, Prince, Wright = the 4 corner infielders of the apocalypse)

    Bermuda Triangles
    Get Lost!

  60. mc serch says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Thanks al….was shot down in my attempts to land Scherzer, Sanchez, Nolasco for Gordon and crappy closer….dude with Harang offered me him straight up for J Upton…i shit you not….it’s why its so effin hard to make a trade in my league

    @Grey: thanks grey.

  61. MattW says:

    Can you rank the following in a bubble?

  62. Steve says:

    Can’t believe I’m asking this, but is is H2H so here goes. Do you start Josh Tomlin at home vs the Royals on Wednesday?

  63. OaktownSteve

    OaktownSteve says:

    2mc serch: I don’t think I’ve ever been in a leauge where it was easy for me to make trades. In bad leagues retards get ripped off. In good leagues nobody wants to make a trade unless they get the better end of it. It’s surprising how tough it is to get people to consider trades that seem to make both teams better. Folk always overvalue what they have. Another lesson in human nature brought to you by dungeons and baseball.

  64. Grey

    Grey says:

    @and1mcgee: Okay

    @alex: Yup

    @OaktownSteve: Ha

    @the bat rastard: True

    @Mr2Bits: Yup

    @SwaggerJackers: Harang, dlR, Anibal, Dempster…

    @Captain Yesterday: Blake

    @brad: Sure

    @3FingersBrown: Anibal

    @Mr2Bits: Aramis

    @Alex: Thanks! Trade’s fair, I’d take Kendrick.

    @Josh: If you need pitching.

    @zombie: I’m worried, I’ve been worried.

    @Black Beard: Hudson, Narveson, Liriano…

    @JoeC: I’d hold for now.

    @Bermuda Triangles: Thanks! Over Coghlan.

    @mc serch: No worries.

    @MattW: Narveson, Beachy, Harang…

    @Steve: I wouldn’t.

  65. Captain Yesterday says:

    @Grey: Thanks! E. Encarnacion is also available. Blake over Edwin?

  66. MattW says:

    @Grey: So you would prefer Harang vs. Jar jar over Masterson vs. Hochevar?

  67. Steve says:

    @Grey: How about doing some Coke in Seattle? Again, it’s H2H.

  68. Steve says:

    @Steve: Actually, he’s at home and going against Felix.

  69. yankees2011 says:

    Alright yet again Grey, I’m a glutton for punishment so I’m gonna roll with Kennedy and D. Hudson for 2 starts each this week. If these 2 D Bags stick it to me again, I don’t know what I might do.

    Glad to see you reminded me again in the previous post about dropping Rayburn. Even the Yahoo Boys like to renmind me. I may never live that one down. I have A. Cabrera as my Utility. Would Johnny Damon be better?

    Thanks much Grey and please – no more Rayburn posts.

  70. chata says:

    didn’t tomlin do alright in his 1st meeting @ kc ?

  71. nick m. says:

    Better DL stash in 12-team H2H: A. Hill or L. Morrison?
    My current 2B’s are Beckham and Lowrie while the OF’s are Crawford, BJ Upton, Hamilton, and Berkman

  72. El Gato says:

    Which side wins — Pence and Gio for J. Upton…..

  73. Lubey says:

    Grey, great post! I just posted it in my league I will show you my version. Quick question; Would you drop NicK Hundley for Yadier Molina??

  74. yankees2011 says:

    @Grey: One more thing Grey – would you continue to hang onto Arencibia even though he only plays 3 times a week to allow Molina’s Grandpappy to play? I could grab Y. Molina, Ianetta (blech!), Buck, or one of a host of other scrubs! Perhaps that answers my question. It’s always good to hear your take though.

    Thanks again Grey.

  75. Steve says:

    @chata: Yeah, and he’s been pretty solid overall. I guess Grey’s thinking is that it can’t last.

  76. ken plane says:

    Phil Hughes bullpen shutdown and a trip to see the doc is scheduled, oh oh

  77. Bob says:

    @Grey: Dempster, Bumgarner and Rios have all been dropped in my 10 team, H2H league. My OF consists of McCutchen, Tabata, Stubbs, Krispie Young. My SP are CC, Gallardo, Kuroda, Zimmermann, Ian Kennedy, Daniel Hudson, Volquez, Edwin Jackson. Would you suggest dropping any of my players for the 3 aforementioned available players?

    Thanks Grey!

  78. Sugar Tits says:

    Hey y’all looking for any input on a trade. 5×5 H2H.

    I get: Carl Crawford and Shaun Marcum

    I give: Andrew McCutchen, Cole Hamels, and Ryan Madson.

    I’m thinking I should take it with Feliz on my DL and Madson just picked up yesterday.

    Thanks, let me know what you think.

  79. Steve says:

    Hanley not in the Marlins lineup today. Think of it as an oh-fer that doesn’t negatively affect your average.

  80. Steve says:

    @Steve: Uribe out too, but Iannetta is back.

  81. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Steve: Glad I didn’t get that schmohawk in any leagues.

  82. Steve says:

    @Grey: You know what? I kind of ended up with him by accident. I had the #3 in pick in my H2H league and I’m thinking Miggy, come on down.

    But then the guy at #1 (new guy in the league) takes Hamilton. Everyone is, like, WTF? Then the guy at #2 has the good sense (curse him) to take Phat Albert and then I felt like I had to take Hanley.

    I’m sure (translation: hoping like hell) he’ll get to where he should get to, which will mean some torrid weeks as he plays catch-up, but he’s kind of annoying to own right now.

  83. GMen says:

    @Grey: What do you think of tha Rizza’? (Anthony Rizzo)

  84. Sugar Tits says:

    @Bob: Know you asked Grey but was looking at your comment. I think I would take Dempster over Zimm and maybe Volquez. And I think I would take Rios over Stubbs but less confident there. Pretty sure both those guys will turn it around though.

  85. Steve says:

    @Grey: So – who do you dislike *least* out of Tomlin and Coke?

  86. Matt Damon says:

    +/- on the Yankees hitting 280 HRs this year?

    Yanks are currently on pace for 324. The current record is 267 by the Mariners in 1997. I’m going over, but not by much. Boom.

  87. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Steve: Hamilton? Yikes.

    @GMen: He’ll be in the minors all year and he would play in Petco otherwise.

    @Steve: Coke

  88. tHe sHiT says:

    @Grey: Start these guys?
    Gio Gonzalez @ LAA
    Narveson vs CIN
    Kennedy vs PHI

  89. Matt Damon says:

    @tHe sHiT I think Gio is a must start at this point, no?

  90. Steve says:

    @Grey: Thanks.

    You’d still take Hanley over most, if not all, pitchers at this stage, right?

  91. AL KOHOLIC says:

    either keeps the streak alive

  92. AL KOHOLIC says:

    steve,in that draft,id loved to have been the guy that got 4th pick,miggy

  93. AL KOHOLIC says:

    didnt realize that nolasko has already given up 4 hr,s,that 3 era wont last long like that

  94. Steve says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Miggy fell alol the way to #8…

    @Grey: Thought so.

  95. Matt Damon says:

    Humber just made Tex look like Tex circa April 2010.

  96. Tony says:

    anyone jumping on the arrieta or mosely train? arrieta has thrown well besides one blow up in texas and mosely has taken 3 losses but has 4 QS’s and has only been given 1 run of support in 4 games! that probably wont change much, but for a H2H league? whatdya think???

  97. Richard Pryor says:

    @Grey: drop Beckham for Raburn?

  98. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Steve: did you guys draft real early,like right after the dui?braun,longoria and who else went ahead of him

  99. AL KOHOLIC says:

    watching dunn bat right now,see if he can get the stroke going,i dont own him but i kike him,hits a rope for a basehit,looked good

  100. Steve says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Don’t remember how long after the DUI. First round went:

  101. schlitzy says:

    i was offered Wieters for my Russ martin. Who do you like better?

  102. Matt Damon says:

    Russ Martin in the Yankee lineup over Wieters potential breakout season.

  103. Eddie says:

    The Big Fragu has been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

  104. Matt Damon says:

    Hey Grey, do you and/or Rudy have MLBTV? Is it worth it or meh?

    I love me some blacked out Yankee games though!

  105. Matt Damon says:

    @Eddie You could go with the Big Poopoo now…or better yet how about just “The Big Dump”…I mean that’s what he’d do to your fantasy team anyway.

  106. Steve says:

    Be nice if Posada slummed it with a single every now and then.

    I’ll set and forget as much as the next guy, but when he’s on a team with Mini Donkey, Krispie, Al-Ram (all hitting below .100 in the last 7) it’s kind of hard to take.

  107. bogbert says:

    Nice. Slotted the Purple Evolutionist into my MI slot for tonight’s game, and he goes yard.

  108. AL KOHOLIC says:

    i started narveson against my reds,still rooting for my reds but,damn he has some nasty stuff

  109. Steve says:

    @Steve: Or he could just GIDP instead.

  110. AL KOHOLIC says:

    brandon wood doubles in the run,the conteversy begins

  111. bogbert says:

    Someone dropped Brian Wilson. I currently have Marmol, Valverde, Putz, and my choice of Storen, Farnsworth, or Walden. Is it worth using a 7 out of 10 WW position to grab Wilson? My sense is no, but I don’t have a good handle on waiver pickups yet so thought I’d ask.

  112. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @bogbert: yeah ive added barney in 2 leagues as well,kinda hard to drop him now

  113. bogbert says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: I hear ya. It was only intended to be a one night stand with him (in a nonsexual way), but now I don’t know.

  114. Wake Up says:

    Grey, I saw your posterboard sign at the Brewers game. I guess your true identity has been revealed(Robin).

  115. chata says:

    @Matt Damon:

    i’m not Grey , but ,
    i’d wouldn’t give up my mlbtv (<== if that's the computer one) .

    however , hometown teams black out the video portion of the broadcast .

  116. vinko says:

    @Matt Damon:Fwiw, I have been digging mlbtv since I purchased it a few weeks ago.

  117. Joel says:

    Grey: 6×6 h2h league. if you were me, would u trade J Upton, angel sanchez and Bumgartner to get pence, Zobrist and Zambrano?

  118. AL KOHOLIC says:

  119. AL KOHOLIC says:

    ha,the reds just beat narveson like a dog

  120. Russ says:

    come up with a new letter

  121. WDE05 says:

    Narveson is getting destroyed tonight. He’s given up 5 straight hits in the 3rd inning , single, 2 run bomb, 2b, 2b, single. 5 ERs and he only has 2ks. He’s throwing batting practice right now so the Reds should be able to continue scoring until the Brewers finally get him out of the game. Getting my team off to a great start for the week.

    Thoughts on dumping him now? He was pretty meh his last couple of starts and he’s only had one start with more than 5ks thus far. Looks like he may have been a flash in the pan.

  122. WDE05 says:

    Brewers finally pulled him after giving up 5 runs in the inning and only recorded 1 out. What a fucking joke. I don’t have many good pitching matchups this week so I’m well on my way to taking another beatdown for the week.

  123. bogbert says:

    @bogbert: @Grey: Sorry Grey, does “Yup” mean to use my waiver claim on Wilson, or not? I’m only 7th so it’s probably irrelevant as someone else will get him, but I’m not sure it’s even worth it for a closer to replace Farnsworth or similar.

  124. BryanK says:

    I fell into the Narveson trap too…damn him!

  125. C.O.C. says:

    @Grey: What more does A.J. Burnett have to do for you to view him as a legitimate trust-worthy fantasy producer……….

  126. Tom Emanski says:

    @BryanK: Me 8002

  127. Wake Up says:

    Sounds like what everyone was saying about Kennedy after his one bad start.
    I’m looking at 4 starts for Narveson. 3 QS and the 4th he missed by one out. So, so far he was 4/4 pretty solid starts with 23 K’s in 24.2. Have some more Easter candy and chill.

  128. Carl Spackler says:

    Leake, Naverson, Freddy G, Stauffer, Coke? Pick one

  129. WDE05 says:

    @Wake Up:

    His K’s #s are inflated by his 1 9k performance. He’s K’d between 2 and 5 in his other 4 starts.

  130. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Joel: It’s fair, I wouldn’t.

    @WDE05: I’d hold for now.

    @bogbert: I would definitely pick him up.

    @C.O.C.: Pitch his home games somewhere else? Pitch for a few months well?

    @Carl Spackler: Stauffer (at home), Narveson…

  131. chata says:

    colby getting lit up

  132. VinWins

    VinWins says:

    Lewis gives up 3 HRs in the 5th – Patterson, Bautista, Rivera

  133. AL KOHOLIC says:

    bautista is the real deal,i wasnt buying it either coming into this year,but i think he has arrived

  134. WDE05 says:

    What do you guys think about Ryan Dempster? Would you take him over Narveson at this point? At least he’s a lock to rack up the Ks.

  135. Buge Hoobs says:

    With Grady off the DL, Abreu gets shoved to my BN

    10 team 5×5 weekly, better BN use picking up one of these SPs?
    Harang, Pineda, Wolf, Volquez, Hellickson, E Santana, Arroyo

  136. chata says:

    the patterson home run , to deep right center , was a fastball
    up around his eyeballs .

  137. Steve says:

    @chata: That’s belt-high on a lot of guys.

  138. Howie Met Your Mother says:

    Speaking of the kind of trades people veto…I just got home to 2 proposed trades.

    1. I give up my Greinke and Stephen Drew for Hanley
    2. I give up my Russell Martin and H. Street for V-Mart.

    How fast should I hit accept on both? Is there something I’m missing? It’s a 12 team league with normally half-way intelligent people…

  139. Steve says:

    @Grey: Been rocking David Murphy at LF since Manny disappeared. You like Boesch, Damon, Morse or Brantley over Murph?

  140. Howie Met Your Mother says:

    I know V-Mart is injured and all, but as grey would say SAGNOF. I lose Street, but I still have Valvere and Nunez, and I’m sure I’ll find some extra saves along the line. I don’t believe in this Martin resurgence one bit.

  141. AL KOHOLIC says:

    santos for the save gives up leadoff hit,

  142. Tom Emanski says:

    Grey, as punishment for hating on Beast Mode Bautista, you have to put him in your next Buy column.

  143. JMonte says:

    Douchetard!!!!! LMAO!!!! Im stealing that one and adding it to my vocabulary…. that is epic.

  144. Wake Up says:

    @Grey: I believe if AJ gets the loss tonight it will be the first one that he has ever got in April.

  145. Tom Emanski says:

    Bautista has ONE RBI that hasn’t come from a HR and even that was a single off the Monster #beastmode #abolishtheRBI

  146. Tony Tone says:

    I need saves; should I offer Torii Hunter/Thornton for Axford, Capps, or Burnett? Which would be the best one to target, and is that giving up too much for saves? I could also try offering Aaron Hill, Elvis, Delmon Young, or Chris Carpenter, so who out of that group + Hunter is the best to get rid of now in a keeper located within a vacuum? Thanks Grey, and I understand this is a multi-pronged question so if you want just hit on the first one so you can keep bangin’ them out.

  147. Howie Met Your Mother says:

    So you wouldn’t take trade 2 either? Wasn’t V-Mart a top 50 player? I’m giving up a closer and a waiver wire pickup in Russell Martin for him. I guess I don’t get why I wouldn’t accept it when I can throw Wieters out there for a week or so and get someone like Madson for saves.

  148. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Tom Emanski: Ha

    @Tony Tone: I don’t even understand the first part. Hunter and Thornton for Axford or Capps or Burnett or Axford and Capps or Burnett? Trading Young for Axford or Capps is fine. Hunter’s a bit much, but if you need saves, go for it.

  149. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Howie Met Your Mother: Trade is fair, I wouldn’t bother trading for a catcher if I had one performing well.

  150. AL KOHOLIC says:

    broxtons days are numbered

  151. AL KOHOLIC says:

    grey whos your pick to replace broxton for the dodgers

  152. 1. Napoli is Free agent….replace Soto?

    2. also, still voting for Pedro (alvarez) with Wood trade?

    D Murphy out there or save vulture with Santos and drop Pedro?

  153. Howie Met Your Mother says:

    Solid point. I probably should have mentioned my team is lacking in HRs and thats why adding V-Mart appeals to me. We both had V-Mart ranked fairly high in the pre-season, and I’m not going against that already. Thanks for you advice. It’s appreciated for sure.

  154. Wilson's Beard says:

    I take it Bautista is still on roids? Looking forward to my refunded razzball membership and that not-eligible-anywhere Wendy’s frosty offer, Grey. Seriously though, I get that his .364 BA is a little unsustainable (he’s always seemed more like a .358 hitter to me), but is he still deserving of the illustrious schmohawk title?

  155. Trevor

    tggq21 says:

    Broxton can rot… so can his side kick carroll!

  156. Howie Met Your Mother says:

    You guys think its Kenley Jansen or Kuo once he’s off the DL?

  157. Trevor

    tggq21 says:

    Funny thing is … THAT GAME WAS SAVED… why oh why did i draft u broxton WHY

  158. Steve says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Ugh. I get stuck with the loss in the keeper. Stupid effing stat.

  159. Trevor

    tggq21 says:

    just watched he replay on BBT…. I’m sorry broxton… Carroll and Sands can rot.

  160. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Steve: yeah,that and k,s for hitters,we use obp,ilike that and GS keeps everyone honest pitching wise,but it kills you to get cheap loses by relievers

  161. Steve says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Sorry AL, but GS is bullshit too.

  162. Andrew says:

    Kendrick and Axford to get Kinsler or
    Kendrick and Bruce to get Kinsler?

  163. Steve says:

    @Grey: You and Rudy have Byrd on some teams, am I right?

    Did you hold him during this mini-slump he’s been in?

  164. Arod Loves Frost says:

    i have Berkman. I want Grienke. I should have zero hesitation offering this. Right?

    I’ll be honest, i keep wanting to send the offer – and then Berkman has another at bat.

  165. Tony Tone says:

    I’ve just been counter-offered JJ Putz and Hunter Pence for Chris Carpenter and “The Sandman” Jerry Sands. This is a keeper league where we keep 10 a year with no reprocussions, but neither Carp nor Sands look like they’ll be kept by me unless Sandy has a white-hot rookie year. My SP other than Carp are Danny Haren, Tommy Hanson, Johnny Danks, Danny Hudson (adding the -ny on the end of their names=younger, more upside in trade negotiations), and Kuroda, but I can pickup Baker or Narv-Dog after the trade. My RP is Bell and a shit sandwich of crappy closers. Should I take it? Thanks a lot.

  166. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Grey: i dropped uehara for kuo,would you have done this,uehara is just now trying to throw back to back games i believe

  167. Wilsonian says:

    Santos the guy in CHW? If not, he should be.

  168. chata says:

    @Arod Loves Frost:

    if you’re going to send it , there’s no need to hesitate .
    the guy’s just going to summarily reject it anyway .

  169. JohnnyFive says:

    Just as I suspected, the Cliff Lee/Ian Kennedy duel is going exactly as planned.

  170. Eddie says:

    @Grey: Which of these matchups do you find less appetizing? Daniel Hudson against the Phillies tomorrow, or Ervin Santana @ Tampa on Thursday?

  171. WDE05 says:

    What do you guys think about Chris Young? Pretty solid in his first couple of starts before going on the DL. Scheduled to return tomorrow against the Nats.

  172. Wilsonian says:

    Anyone actually starting D. Hudson tomorrow v. Philly?

  173. bogbert says:

    Ugh, Gio.

  174. Wilson's Beard says:

    I’m currently holding on to Madson and Contreras (way too much invested in one team’s silly saves, I know). Santos is sitting there on the wire, staring at me. What are his chances of taking over the closer’s role full time? Should I drop Madson or Contreras? I’d like to wait till tomorrow to hear an update on Contreras, but I’m not sure if Santos will still be available…

  175. dja says:

    rauch with the save tonight. should he be picked back up off waivers? i would have to drop brandon mccarthy or edwin jackson for him

  176. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Wilsonian: ozzie said he wants santos to be the closer,i hope

  177. dja says:

    santos vs. bjupton who wins in that deal?

  178. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @dja: id want to see santos get 4 or 5 saves to no. 1 see if he can do it, no. 2 make sure ozzie doesnt start playing matchups,they have sale and thornton,while typing this,damn ryan braun is strong,killed that ball

  179. Grey

    Grey says:

    @Wilson’s Beard: Contreras is supposedly okay, but I’d lose him for Santos.

    @dja: Lose McCarthy for him.

    @dja: Upton

  180. Wilson's Beard says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: Would you drop either Madson or Contreras for him? I’m thinking Madson might only close for a couple weeks (and he’s a cuddle boy), while Contreras might have a solid month – or more – depending on the extent of his injury and the status of Lidge… But if Santos manages to run away with the job, then I would imagine he’s more valuable than both. The life of a save vulture isn’t easy.

  181. Eng says:

    @Wilson’s Beard: Don’t drop Contreras. Strong suspicion he’ll be back in 2-3 weeks, tomorrows MRI will confirm. I dropped Madson Saturday, I don’t like senile liar Manuel.

  182. Eng says:

    @Eng: nb. I meant the MRI Tuesday will confirm if he is back within 21 days or not.

  183. AL KOHOLIC says:

    mcgehee ran into votto on final play of game ,hurt his thumb,looked to be in pain and pissed,keep an eye on this

  184. WDE05 says:

    Grey, what do you think about Bartolo Colon? Between Colon and Chris Young, who would you pick up?

  185. drew says:

    would you dump narveson for stauffer, baker, or dice-k?

  186. chata says:

    mcgehee should have peeled out .
    not towards 2nd base .

  187. Steve says:

    @Grey: You taking Iannetta over Avila?

  188. Wilson's Beard says:

    Okay, thanks Grey. Just a quick follow up question before I act though: If Contreras will likely be back in 2-3 weeks, wouldn’t it make more sense to dump Madson? I’m thinking Santos should be owned, but I’m just trying to follow your logic in dumping Contreras (who could potentially be a longer term option if Lidge suffers any setbacks).

  189. Steve says:

    Bloody hell – what an outing from Kennedy. I started him nervously in my H2H league and benched him in an 8-team keeper.

    Never in a million years was I expecting something like that.

    Grey – bit of a sonavabenching for you if I’m not mistaken, but means you can start him safely next time out I guess.

  190. Steve says:

    Linebrink you idiot.

  191. AL KOHOLIC says:

    damn,i am wanting kimbrel

  192. Eng says:

    @Wilson’s Beard: Yup, drop Madson before Contreras but best would be if you could wait until tomorrow’s MRI to ensure Contreras will be fine. Either way, Santos has good makeup, I’m kicking myself for not adding him when Thornton blew his 4th. Someone else picked him up and held him and it’s payoff time.

  193. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Steve: awesome night in our keeper league,been even better had you started kennedy,but i do understand,gained 9 points your now in 2nd,i like ker-dog,but you arent going to let him win again,dont know if ill be much of a threat but again,ill keep plucking away

  194. McBainus says:

    @Grey: I have to drop either Sale or Burnett (or Thornton, Frank Frank or Rauch, but I am believe it is just down to the first two). Which one would you drop?

  195. Eng says:

    By the way, without wanting to sound like a brown noser, just wanted to hand out more props to Grey for always being at people’s beck and call and knowing his shizz. Easily the best fantasy baseball site about.

  196. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Eng: any good league will see him gone by tomorrow,if its 12 teams,if less he might slide by,cointreras better hurry back and throw great when he gets back,thi9s bastardo guy is throwing lights out and might make a claim himself

  197. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @McBainus: id guess drop sale but let grey concur with that

  198. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Eng: i will agree,broke my leg and needed surgery,ill be off and couch ridden for a total of 3 solid months and he and his site(including all of you razzball participants have really kept me from going nuts and having to watch maury find another baby daddy,hehe,but serriously ,yeah thanks grey ,rudy and the rest of your crew

  199. Eng says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: True, but couldn’t it be argued he’d have been gone 10 days ago?

  200. Eng says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: and get well soon bud.

  201. McBainus says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: I’ve been staring at the screen alternating between both, one seems better, then the other…need Grey to just make my mind up for me, lol

  202. Eng says:

    @McBainus: for what it’s worth, in your situation i’d drop Burnett and hold Sale.

  203. Eng says:

    Hmm,out of Soriano and Rhodes, need to drop one.

  204. McBainus says:

    @Eng: Combined, you and AL KOHOLIC sum up my thoughts exactly. Grey is the tiebreaker.

  205. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @McBainus: yeah,he seems to have that sixth sense

  206. JMonte says:

    @Grey- I posted on my league message board that im looking to trade for a SP1, as im really dominating in hitting despite both Utley and Kendrys on the bench….

    What should the post be for the ass clown offering me Clay Bucholz for Tulo AND M. Holliday?

  207. Steve says:

    C’mon Braves. Want to get Kimbrel in there.

  208. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Steve: why not bunt there?

  209. Steve says:

    @AL KOHOLIC: No idea, but then I can’t see what’s going on ;-)

  210. AL KOHOLIC says:

    me niether,i dont have the mlb package,but now were down to gonzalez

  211. 3FingersBrown says:

    @chata: If your hometown team blacks out the video, can you watch the visiting team broadcast? I’d be so happy to watch Yanks games minus Michael “I Hate Condiments” Kay.

    Also allows you the radio broadcasts no? Between work and fishing, I end up listening to games a lot.

  212. Steve says:

    Verlander for Ellsbury trade just went down in my H2H league.

    Pretty fair isn’t it?

  213. AL KOHOLIC says:

    anyone see that play?did mcCann try to bunt and boutch it or did the braves coach blow it by not coaching and calling for a bunt

  214. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Steve: i guess if you need steals really bad,im thinking he only gets around 40 this year,now if he adds 10-15 hr,s and hits 270-280 100 runs then its not bad,but crisp,pierre or bourn would surely be way cheaper,or even gradner,he,ll still get his 40 this year

  215. Whiskey Diet says:

    Grey, my 12 Team money league is getting wack.

    Current Outfield:

    Adam Jones

    Just hit the wire:

    Claim both? and drop who?

    Also, add Santos for Oliver or hold?

    Thanks OG

  216. Whiskey Diet says:

    @Steve: @AL KOHOLIC: Any thoughts on the above guys?

  217. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Whiskey Diet: id add santos yeah,rios you probably should add for huff,but damn he isnt even hitting weight,im serrious 170 no hr,s 2 sb,s,and last year he started out april and may with 11 hr,s, neither are great this year but rios steals more bags,and i think huff hits more hr,s,id still go with rios,

  218. Flunkie says:

    Holy cow.. get healed up soon @AL KOHOLIC

  219. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @Flunkie: yeah to much time on the computer,start overthinking things,hehe and i wish they played more day games

  220. Jrock says:

    Yo Greyski!
    Trash swap who’s side you on?!
    Team A: Carlos Pena, Ervin Santana and Sean Burnett
    Team B: Pedro Alvarez and Angel Pagan

  221. chata says:

    you can only get the audio on hometown teams .

    living in CT , i’m blocked from mets and yankee game , as well
    as red sawx games .
    local cable tv , however , covers …(yes and nesn)

    one note :
    i pay the $99 fee
    the $119 fee is good if you have an internet phone , or some other
    portable electronic gizmo .
    if you don’t have that new gizmo , you can still pay the extra $20 ,
    but the only benefit is that you get to choose which team of broadcasters that you want to hear … for instance , if the dodgers are playing IN san fran , you can opt to hear scully’s voice , and not that other idiot (who used to team up with joe morgan on tv) .
    again ….. local teams (video) are blocked out , whichever plan you choose .

    hope that helps .

    i have no idea why you’re not availing yourself of this product .
    does it now work where you live ?
    games came thru loud and clear when i went to costa rica .

  222. chata says:

    not work

  223. john butte says:

    Grey, I have Morrow on the dl, should I drop either volquez or edwin jackson, or just keep morrow hidden?

  224. Steve says:

    If it’s ok, I’m going to use this for my deep NL only keeper league. This was the trade:

    10th place traded:
    Tim Lincecum
    Huston Street
    Troy Tulowitski
    Todd Helton
    Hunter Pence

    to 3rd place for:
    Zach Greinke
    Mike Leake
    Jose Tabata
    Carlos Pena
    Bill Hall

    (I’m in 2nd place, a few points ahead of the beneficiary of this deal.)

    What “plural derogatory name” and “body part” should I use?

    Steve in NYC
