Postby IowaCubs » Mon Jun 06, 2011 11:46 am

I was just offered Kimbrel for Alexei Ramirez. My team is below... Advice would reward you with a high five.
14 team h2h keeper (keep 5), $101 FAAB budget. C,1B,2B,SS,3B,MI,CI,U,5SP,2RP... It's standard 5x5, but we use quality starts instead of wins. I currently have $1 left in FAAB money.

Looking at your team I don't see anyone who's MI eligible to replace Alexei, so I guess it would depend who you could fill that spot with. That said though, since you can only start 2 RP anyway, I would say to keep Alexei anyway.

I would never offer a relevant SS for a closer. Don't really care who the closer is. Closers are dime a dozen.

The only reason I'd consider it is that I have Brett Lawrie waiting in the minors on my bench and I've lost saves every week this season...very annoying. I've made up for it in other categories, but dang it would be sweet to win once in a while. I could move Lawrie to MI and Desmond to SS and they'd cancel eachother out.

Anyway, I rejected the trade... thanks for the advice. HIGH FIVES!

In a H2H league where you can only start 2 RP it's a crapshoot and nothing more. Last year only 3 closers (Wilson, Bell and Soriano) averaged 2 saves a week, and one of those 3 isn't a closer this year. Same thing the year before. So even with 2 good closers it's still a crap shoot. You're just as likely to get 2 saves in any given week from Hanrahan as you are from Rivera.
