Sean Rodriguez! (and Eric Young, Jr.)

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Sean Rodriguez! (and Eric Young, Jr.)

Postby IowaCubs » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:58 pm

I picked him up in 2 leagues including the RCL and then I found this article from Yahoo's Jeff Behrens:
The Los Angeles Times reports that it could be Rodriguez, not Brandon Wood(notes), who gets the call if Kendrick continues his dormancy. (Not that he will. It's a hypothetical). Rodriguez has 18 home runs and a 1.019 OPS at Triple-A Salt Lake. The 24-year-old currently leads the Pacific Coast League in homers and he's second in RBIs. He's also tied for the league lead in strikeouts, so it's not like Rodriguez is without blemishes. But he's a reasonable flier in deep formats. ... asy,167206

I'm also SAGNOF drooling on Eric Young, jr., who is rhymin and stealin in the PCL. Thoughts?
14 team h2h keeper (keep 5), $101 FAAB budget. C,1B,2B,SS,3B,MI,CI,U,5SP,2RP... It's standard 5x5, but we use quality starts instead of wins. I currently have $1 left in FAAB money.

S-Rod is a champ and he is a Figgins-type who can play both INF and OF. They said last year he was the second-best athlete on the team, after Jeff Mathis... according to Scioscia. I think Wood is going to need a year of .150-.200 in the majors before he starts his crescendo into an awesome MLB player.
