Trade Pujols before foot/knee troubles lower value too much?

Postby thorbs » Mon Apr 15, 2013 11:54 pm

Been talking to a Bautista owner about flipping Pujols for him...very concerned about the plantar fasciatis (sp?) after watching him hobble around the bases for the past week.

Been offered Pence/Swisher/Bautista for my Pujols/Choo/Ethier, which I'm obviously not going to take, but the owner is a Jered Weaver owner so struggling badly with arms.

He has a few other tasty bats like Matt Adams, Swisher, Moustakas, Zobrist, Marte, Markakis, Pence, a good arm in Fister (he won't move Minor), prospects like Buxton, Arenado, Hultzen

I'd be happy to get rid of Ethier, but I heart Choo (and flipped Swisher and Beachy to land him from the same owner in the offseason) and think I should hold out for a bigger upgrade if I do, in fact, move Albert.

Does any combination of his guys seem like a good return for Pujols/Ethier? I was thinking of proposing Bautista/Adams/Marte, with me dropping Valdespin or Venable, or Bautista/Adams/Pence.

Either of those work for you guys? Or just keep my fingers crossed Pujols can gut it out for the rest of the year?

Personally I don't think that is enough for Pujols. I don't mind dealing him for Bautista but if you are wanting more in return, I would want something a little safer than Adams and Pence. Just not sold that those guys are solid players especially Adams. If you could get Zobrist and Pujols, then I really like the deal for you.

Zoberist would have to play of. I don't mind pence, but Adams won't qualify as a milb next year. If Bautista plays 3b that really helps your roster. But I agree you need to get more for pujols.
