20 team roto elimination league

Postby b_rad82 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 4:34 pm

basically this is a 20 team roto league where, starting at the end of May, the last place team is eliminated and all their players go to waivers. Sort of a survivor league I guess. Anyway, I was dumb and not paying attention to the time and autodrafted the first pick (Crawford) but if Craw starts hot again that might actually be a decent pick given the nature of the league. What do you think?

C Jeff Clement
1B Nick Johnson
2B Rickie Weeks
3B Ryan Zimmerman
SS Alcides Escobar
OF Carl Crawford
OF Carlos Quentin
OF Kyle Blanks
UTIL Conor Jackson
BenchTravis Hafner

P Johan Santana
P Yovani Gallardo
P Heath Bell
P David Aardsma
P Daniel Bard
P Mike Adams
Bench Jered Weaver
Bench Jonathan Sanchez
Bench Madison Bumgarner
Bench Kenshin Kawakami

I think you need a big April from CQ so your power isn't completely non-existent. Your pitching should be fine in that deep of a league. If anything, your pitching is too strong and you could've used some better bats.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Thanks Grey, I think you're right. The Santana, Gallardo, Weaver picks really seemed like the best value at the time, but the team will likely be power light. I guess I felt like I could survive the first couple eliminations on the strength of my pitching and then focus on grabbing power bats off those rosters. But maybe I should try to move whichever pitcher starts hottest for a hard hitting 1b or OF.

Any thoughts on this trade:

My Gallardo/Aardsma for his Morales/Hamels. Would you go as far as Gallardo/Bell?

I like it for you. I'd go with Bell too, if you have to.
