Shortest Tenure as Closer Ever?

Steals/Saves Ain't Got No Face. Closers and speed talk. Which MRs are moving in? Which schmohawk speedster is getting steals at MI?

Shortest Tenure as Closer Ever?

Postby kevo252 » Tue May 08, 2012 7:12 pm

So Danks starts the 8th with a 3-0, puts two runners on, Ventura promptly brings in Sale.

Sale blows the 3 run lead with a little help from his defense allowing both inherited runners and one runner who reached on an error to score.

Santiago comes in and pitches a scoreless, but messy, 9th allowing two hits.

Reed comes in in the 10th with a 5-3 lead and delivers the save in 1-2-3 fashion while striking out 2.

Is Reed Ventura's choice here? I understand it was an extra innings save, but why bring Sale in for the 8th? And why announce, very loudly, that Sale is your closer going forward if he is not the guy. Is Ventura just messing with us at this point?

It only makes perfect sense as I dropped Reed yesterday to pick up Cishek.
