That's why I love Yahoo. They break news that isn't news. There is definitely a battle going on but the organization will spotlight Thornton for trade. I haven't seen them say anywhere that Reed will likely be the closer.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Thursday that Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain are the "best options" for the closer job.
Absent is the name of Addison Reed, whose "hype," Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times says, has "cooled a bit." Thornton has been unscored upon in his three outings this spring and should probably be viewed as the favorite to close at this point, especially since Crain is nursing a minor oblique injury. We still like Reed the best over the long haul, but Thornton should probably be at the top of your list for fantasy purposes. Mar 16 - 10:41 AM

Reed's a guy to keep an eye on, thats about it for now though.

"Addison [Reed], Santiago, [Matt] Thornton, [Jesse] Crain, those are the guys we're talking about, right?'' Cooper said Sunday morning. "And hey, you know what? Will Ohman got a [two-inning] save yesterday, don't be surprised. You guys will find out. But right now they're all still going. Ohman just made it a five-horse race.''

More reason to stay away from Thornton.

Take a look at Hector Santiago if you can. Ventura has not ruled him out and this RC is getting nastier by the day. His new screwball is eating up righties.

Great gamble if you are deep and desperate. Wait a minute, is Deep and Desperate the name of a skin flick?
