Postby Iron Tusk » Wed May 08, 2013 5:25 am

Team 2 for sure, some quality youth there in Taveras, Miller, Marte, which is always good in a dynasty league

Personally, I like team 1 better if you're looking at long-haul and collecting young talent. But I like challenges.

You could easily trade Price for a haul (once he's traded to Texas). Granted, team 2 has Taveras. But Yelich is NO slouch and you could probably include Hamilton in a deal to get better at the ML level. The biggest issue with team 1 is that Davis is your 1B.

Interesting, though, is that in the preseason, most of us would have wanted team 1.

I actually kinda agree with this. Team 2 is definitely better short term. But there is something to be said for building a dynasty team around Stanton and Darvish. Beachy has some long term potential still only 26. I like Tavares obviously, but team 1 has some decent ML guys too. I think 3 of them were in the last prospect power rankings . . .

I'm not saying team 1 is the clear choice, but I'd look at it for the long term . . .
