At this point in the season in redraft leagues, anyone not in the top 20 is expendable. There are better options on the waiver wire than Uggla, and I don't even know who is on your waiver wire.

LOL...I just traded him and a closer in a deal for Rizzo, Espinosa and Stubbs

That worked out incredibly well for you.

I'm considering cutting him for Segura, but I know as soon as I do he'll pick it up. August has been his best month over the course of his career so let's put hope in numbers.

I looked at that too....August numbers...but he is striking out more this year...all signs point to the fact he is TRYING to have that good august...just not working. The strikeout numbers are what convince me to ship him for Espisnosa/Rizzo combo

I'd have done it just for Rizzo in my league. I just tried to send him away for Tyler Clippard to a guy who has been starting Jemille Weeks all season and had my proposal denied. Sad times...

I'd give him another week or two before cutting him... Despite his terrible year he is still top five among second basemen in runs and home runs and he is sixth in RBI.
If you cut him now and he hits .270 the rest of the way with 12 HRs and 30 RBI/runs you're going to be upset with yourself.

If he hits 12 homers in the next two months I will shit myself.

Note: I will not shit myself because he is not doubling his home run total over the next two months.

It's not probable, but it's certainly possible. I don't see how it can be definitively ruled out when he hit 16 HRs in August and September last year. Power guys have the ability to get hot and go on massive home run binges. It wouldn't be out of the question for Uggla to do it again.
Uggla is hitting more line drives and less ground balls than any of his past 4 or 5 seasons. His Hr/FB is much lower than it has typically been... He's not going to win any batting titles, but there's no way that a power surge can be completely ruled out right now, especially when he has a well-documented history of August being his best month. If he still sucks two weeks from now, I'd say he's toast, but he has hits in 7 of his last 9 games and has 8 RBI in that span. Now isn't the time to cut him loose.
