Fred (and/or Eddy):

At one point you mentioned you also substitute in hitters. Under the "Rules of Grey" you don't carry extra hitters cause of the frustration of a Sonofabench however, if there's S.F.S (Simply Fred Science) around it I think I might start.

Let's take today. I can play 3 OF/Util spots and 1 catcher out of these guys. I suppose the losing catcher could play Util too:

-Colvin @ SD (Ohlendorff)
-Rosario @ SD (Ohlendorff)
-Boesch vs. CWS (Humber)
-J. Montero @ TB (Moore)
-Scott vs. Sea (Blevin)
-Rizzo @ St. L (Lynn)

All have very nice matchups (R vs. Left) and the better hitters seem to have slightly tougher opponenets (Rizzo vs. Lynn). Who would you start but more importantly, what is the thought process that goes into picking? Hot streak? Park? Weather? Head's up? O-Rank?

Luis Mendoza for Saturday v MIN (#29 away/#20 v RHP)

Mendoza: 13 IP, 2.08 ERA v MIN this year; O-Swing at 29.9%; 5.36 home ERA (ugh)

Sorry, I have to dig deep in my league. What do you guys think about Mendoza v MIN?

Friedrich is still a GO for tomorrow @SD, right?

Hitting: R / H / 2B / 3B / HR / RBI / SB / BB / AVG
Pitching: GS / W / L / SV / K / ERA / WHIP / RAPP / QS

mindspin: friedrich still go.

charles: just posted mendoza--before i saw your post--graduated from swab to mate!

knighttown: retro vertigo #1 in our league is the guru for streaming hitters. unfortunately haven't been able to get him to share his secrets. i could learn a lot on this so hoping for input from others. Grey's buys are a good start if you can get 'em. However, i like to see how they got hot and where they are going next (hot at COL, maybe not so much @ SD). Depends on needs. If you need steals, sort MLB defensive stats to see which teams give up the most steals (there is quite a discrepency), and never try for steals against a lefy pitcher. the stuff i've been reading recently promotes going with the hot hand vs. BVP (which can be old and small sample size). just a start to the conversation. If not a conflict, I'd run 'em by Grey. (i don't do that for rcl leagues)

You like Friedrich over Collmenter at home vs the disAstros?

Vegas has AZ -190, pretty strong favorite. COL @ SD is rated tossup..

Collmenter's periphs since his early season demotion have been solid.. Pitched well in a couple of spot starts earlier this month.. yes he had a lousy early season but there was quite a bit of bad luck in there (25.9% HR/FB in April).

His slash line vs Houston: 158/238/211.

Friedrich kind of scares me, call it a gut feeling, but every once in a while a blind Padre finds a kernel of corn.

I could start both of them but I'd have to drop Storen to the wire -- or someone much better than that -- and I've been holding him this long expecting Clippard to blow up eventually, which seems to be happening.

Collmenter fine over Friedrich (the kernel fell on Francis today). I wouldn't drop Storen either.

McAllister pick-up was almost perfect. Until the CLE offense forgot they were playing a baseball game.
