The Red Sox bullpen

Postby Penguin » Sun Apr 08, 2012 3:01 pm

Melancon and Aceves have possibly been the worst two pitchers of the year so far in MLB. So, will Bobby V actually stick with either of these guys closing? Is there someone else he might turn to (Bard before he even gets a *chance* to start?)? I'm not too heavily invested in either, just wondering what folks think.

I think they'll try Melancon a bit longer...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

I'm from Boston and people are starting to be more and more vocal about Bard being the closer.

Even if the donkeys running this team promised him that he could start, you'd have to believe that they would force him to close if/when they become more desperate then they currently are.

Even if Bard does get the job, his makeup has always been questioned so he's not a lock to take the job and run with it anyways.

Definition of a SHITuation.

Well Valentine is certainly not one who is going to keep running guys out there time after time to fail, hell, he had Melancon and Morales warming up in the pen after Aceves first batter. I think they'll he'll run Aceves out there the next time they get a save chance (not too confident it will be in the next few days w/ Dubrount and Bard starting, but ya never know).

I've been a Sox fan for a long time, and folks 'round here hit panic mode very quickly, and after what happened last year and all the uncertainty surrounding this team this year it's not a shocker. Even though Valentine wanted Bard to be in the pen all along, and has a swift hand, i think he still runs out Aceves.

God that was one awful, awful pitch to Miggy. I dont think Aceves or Melancon have the balls to close, and perhaps Valentine's lack of faith in them is showing through. But i also think that's what he's just saying "told ya so" to the front office right now so hopefully they get Bard back in the pen and straighten this shiz out.

Maybe even get Oswalt in here while they're at it. One thing is for sure, there's never any shortage of drama 'round these parts!

You must not have watched the Cubs' first two games. Wood and Marmol? Barf.
ESPN 10 man 5x5 Keeper league
10 H2H 5x5 6 Keeper:
Braun
Hayward
Pedroia
Beltre
Castro

Have 2 rd 10, 14 and 20 dps and 3 round 12. Feeling pretty good about this years draft. What did it all cost? Prince, Cespedes, Upton(BJ) and Gio. By going in with 5...feel like I should get great value at rd 6.
